Were they all in place before you took it off? Make sure splitter is fitted to the bumper properly, then just try to clamp the bar as well as possible while putting the screws in. Never really had any trouble with this. -

Is there not a pouch of grease in the bearing packaging? Any I've fitted have always had these.
