  1. well in all honesty im not sure as to future plans for this car under the bonnet or anywhere else as she might be for sale soon, 6points and a possible 3 more to come may mean i cant afford to run her and me bike so she might have to go, i will be hoping i dont get the 6 so i can do an engine swap and as far as i know i will be the first to put said engine into a corrado :-) thanks for all the kind comments about the car, it has taken a fair bit of time to get her to such a condition and there is still lots left to do next things will deffo be gloss black detailing and i will see where i go from there.............. peace out
  2. cheers for the comments, if anyone wants more detailed info i would be more than happy to give any advice required etc rob

  5. yeh i sold the the original wheels and in a way i regret the sale but thats the way life goes, i havn't updated for a while now as the car is a daily and winter has taken its tole but next week the car will be back in the parents garage and the lower doors will be getting some rust tlc and some subtle piano black detailing will be started so watch this space
  6. If the wheels are badly pitted you will just have to spend more time on the prep work and possibly use a filling primer before the normal primer to level things out, the refurb i did on mine only took me a day and cost only the price of primer, paint and clear coat i.e. 3tins primer, 4tins paint and 3 tins laquer :-) remember its worth paying the price for high quality paint!
  7. my man you have made my long slow night shift with this post Amen to you If there was an epic win smilie wou would have earned it Hero Rob

  14. a very good article it has to be said but i feel that the advantages may not be as aplicable to much older cars due to the different engine management types etc.......very informative though, would be interesting to see a similar test complete on a older car with more primative management
  15. am i correct in thinking that the ECU adjusts to different fuel types and therefore when moving back to 95 the ECU may take time to notice the difference and thus cause the stalling problem? this may just be modern cars so if this is the case ignore what i just said. I tend to run my 9A on a mixture of both fuels depending on how my pocket is feeling that month but i cant say i see a huge difference ither than around an extra 2mpg.......is this just a VR thing?
  16. noticed recently that now and again, usualy when cold when pulling away the car feels like it has around 50% of its normal power, this only happens for around two seconds then shes back and has plenty power again, i have had a quick check around the engine bay for air leaks etc but im not 100% sure what else to look for, the throtle pedal also appears to have some play but im not sure this is of any relevence, any help would be greatly appreciated Car is a 1994 9A Rob
  17. cheers mate, its just a puney 9A but im sure the process should be just as simpe

  22. Recently when pulling away hard from junctions etc i have begun hearing a loud knock/banging noise from the front of the car, the gearbox is fine and i reently rebuilt the front end of the car i.e. strut tops, bushes etc, is it possible that a engine mount has given up and if so how do i test them? if anyone can shead some light on this for me it would be greatly appreciated rob
  23. was thinking that could have been me but alas i was still in bed with the most epic hangover known to man! you on dub north east shaun??
  24. long shot but i too have had this problem but on my 9A, temp guage shoots up tom 110 and the light starts to flash, i checked the fan was working and there was plenty water and found everything ok, a few days later i had the same problem, turned on the healights and the water temp went back down to 70 and the light went out, solution...........new headlight switch, mine was caused by a fault on the dash light dimmer control, long shot but if all else fails
