  1. Given that I just about still have a life [emoji1] I will need to refer back to my factory wiring diagrams for that. I will try to remember this next week when I get back into the workshop and I'll take a pic and post it up. You could call if you need other help. http://www.johnmitchellracing.co.uk
  2. I was saying to a customer only this week, that be Corrados are climbing in value and that it is the stock factory spec examples that will be sought after, we will see a surge of interest in stock suspension. How many sets have I committed to a skip over the last twenty years? I have just had a set powder coated for my own Storm restoration project. Happy hunting [emoji106]
  3. Wiring is simplicity itself and you need not concern yourself with a wiring diagram. The gauge lighting will tap into the blue/white interior lighting harness already present behind the dash. The voltage gauge picks up on an ignition controlled live supply and then a good earth return. The gauge will require the use of an appropriately rated genuine VDO twin pole electric pressure sender, which is fitted in place of the low pressure warning sender on top of the oil filter head. The wire that originally went to the low pressure sender is fitted to the new VDO sender on the terminal marked "W". The other terminal on the new sender is marked "G" and this takes the signal wire to your oil pressure gauge. The last wire is an ignition controlled live to the oil pressure gauge. Voila, job done. Now before you go running new wires through the bulkhead into the engine bay, first check for the original loom installation, as most Corrados were wired for these additional gauges but we're not fitted as factory options. If you look in the engine compartment, at the harness for the oil pressure senders, you will see one wire not used and tied back to the other wires for the oil switches. This is the wire for your gauge signal from a VDO sender. Trace this wire behind the dash and you will have saved a whole bunch of heartache installing a new wire. I hope this helps you get all gauged up [emoji1][emoji106]

Check your tyre pressures first. Get the wheel alignment checked next.
  6. Just illustrates what these engines can do when in the loving care of an enthusiast[emoji106]

  8. Your gauge reading for oil pressure is spot on and the colts are good too, nothing to worry about there. [emoji106]

  10. In the OEM configuration you are right about the fuel breather. You could leave this pipe disconnected, but the better arrangement would be to return it to the air filter housing, so that the fumes are inducted into the intake air and dealt with appropriately. A simple connection of you choosing will resolve this.
  11. White or transparent depending on your interpretation is the fuel supply. Blue is the fuel return and black is the fuel vapour breather for the tank.
  12. Ok, got the pics, thank you. How would you like to proceed?
  13. Thanks for your reply. Please send pics to my works Email info@johnmitchellracing.co.uk
  14. Did you get a chance to take some pics of the dash insert?
  15. Thanks for the pics. How do we proceed?
  16. Hey Jim, you fancy a job at Harriers TPS trade counter [emoji1]
  17. Sack him! [emoji1] what sort of parts man is that? He has been given the reg number and all the database vehicle related info and in addition to that he has Etka parts catalogue to confirm the components, and still he couldn't locate the correct part without you giving him the part number! What is going on [emoji849]
  18. I swear sometimes suppliers just can't be arsed to do the homework and dig out the parts required, when it comes to vehicles over 6 years of age. The quarter lights can be extracted and re-used, but you've got to be extremely careful when cutting so as not to damage the rubber encapsulation. Equally fitting needs to be done with care and any frame damage must be treated before re-installation, so that rust does not become an issue later on.
  19. This should be able to be replaced on your glass insurance policy? Assuming you have this facility? If not, this encapsulated piece of glass can be sourced through the usual glass replacement operators. If you are within location of West Sussex, we at JMR Ltd can deliver a complete glass replacement service. Be careful who you elect to complete these works, as so many tales of Corrado woe start with poorly executed glass replacement. http://www.johnmitchellracing.co.uk
  20. This is a common issue and quite simply resolved by fitting new senders. Buy the replacement parts from your local TPS VW parts trade counter or VW dealer. These will be the best quality parts and avoid buying sub-standard spurious parts with dubious performance and service life.
  21. I need a late type front fog light, passenger / nearside in very good clean clear condition, for my Corrado Storm restoration project.
