  1. Hey why don't you visit Bahnbrenner, they know everything about Corrados! Much more than us mear mortals!

    TT brakes

Nah just speechless at the last comment , strikes me that Jackson aint the only one living in his own little world.

    INTAKE!

Give us a call, we can offer an induction mod that will increase airflow, not draw in hot engine bay air, incorporate a K&N filter, give a pleasant induction growl and gurantee plentiful cold air supply. Whist at the same time not spoiling the appearance of your engine bay.
  4. Paul, If you are still in a world of grief give me a call, the problem is probably very simple to rectify. Just check that in all the works you have done that you have not dislodged trhe black 12v supply to the ignition coil.

    TT brakes

When one labours hard to find a new product, which is tried and tested, in what is a very competitive maket your not going to give up the secrets to the first caller! The kit comprises of cross drilled PD motorsport discs with alloy bells, Audi TT callipers with pad carriers, brake pads, PD motorsport hubs, PD Motorsport brackets, brake hoses and fixings. Total kit cost is £850. This conversion is not simply the result of a trip to the breakers yard, or a case of bolting on a conglomeration of VAG parts. We have laboured to utilise existing parts in conjunction with our own components allowing any VW to benefit from this competitively priced upgrade.

    TT brakes

Hi LowG, thanks for your interest. The rear brake mod is a bolt on kit and requires no further works than to apply the kit components. The conversion changes every aspect of the standard fittment with the exception of the stub axle. Contact me for further info. Regards, John.

    TT brakes

I have not looked at TT fronts, as we use 4 pot Brembos and motorsport cross drilled discs with alloy bells. We do however use TT rear callipers with G60 front discs for the rear with good results. This is a proven conversion now and will be seen on my Corrado 16VG60 at Inters.
  8. Hello Fry. ref your enquiry for an uprated wiring loom. We produce just such an item specifically for the Corrado and uses oe headlamp plugs not crimp terminals. Cost is £50 plus p&p. Have already supplied some of the Forum guys ask them for a ref regarding resulting improvements to light output.
  9. The small filter you mention ref my Corrado is mounted on top of the crancase/ ISV breather pot. Clearly if one is supplying the engine with air it must be filtered. We do supply these parts and can be used to good effect when carrying out induction mods on the G60,s. On a different tack to answer some other Q's regarding the photos Darren printed from our day at Thruxton. The wheels are BBS RX 7.5 x 17's. Yes i am using Nology HT leads although however they are modified. Regarding Bhp and torque, we have governed output to 250 bhp for the 1000 mile run in period. There will be more to follow on our second visit to the rollers. As for torque she is a Tyranosaurus of a stump puller and thank Quaife for LSD's!! We did discover that the output is being restricted by exhaust back preasure. To rectify this we will be commissioning our supplier Miltek to produce a tailor made bigger bore stainless system. These systems will include a bigger bore set of down pipes incorporating a flexible joint that will mate with the 16V or G60 cast manifold. They of course will be finished to Milteks superior quality finnish and have an apprx cost of £500. Five of these exhausts will be put together initially so if you are interested please contact us ASAP. My Corrado will be at Inters on both days on one of the club stands,we will look forward to seeing you all.
  10. Thanks for the interest in toothed belt drive .The kit price is £450. This includes 68mm charger pulley, alternator pulley, water pump pulley, crank pulley, toothed belt and two replacement tensioner rollers. This kit has been reduced in price dramatically from previously being £550, a marked discounted offer to the Corrado forum. For a photo of the pulleys see our site.
  11. There has been a marked increase in awareness of our belt drive system and indeed this has spread to many interested parties. I have responded to this demand by taking steps to commission a production run. I would be happy to hear from any of you that might want this sytstem. Please contact me asap for more info.
  12. You state that the rev counter keeps flicking about. What is not clear however is the detail around your problem. Is the fault restricted to your rev counter only, or is the rev counter indicating a variation in engine speed and therein a engine fault. I have seen a fault with the G60 clocks simillar to what you may be experiencing, this was down to an electronic defect in the printed cicuit supplying the instruments. The circuit had a high resitance joint which became more evident with increased useage, but as with such faults was fine from "cold". I cured this by replacement of the printed circuit.

    highflow heads

The aim of gasflowing a cylinder head is to allow inlet and exhaust gasses to flow into and out of the head in the most efficient way, relative to the use of the engine. This entails reshaping the casting pahtways to and from the valves by way of a process termed porting. Much is written about this subject and even more missunderstood. Suffice to say work undertaken to your cylinder head is critical to final performance, and once done is irreversible. Many are of the thought that BIG is beautiful when modifying a head. There is only one set up that is right, and that is the one that is in balance with other engine mods and the final use to which the engine is to be put. A big valve head combined with mild mods to induction an exhaust will cost your engine bhp not improve it.

    Oil windage tray

You will not be likely to percieve any difference in performance. The improvement i reffer to is in oil control and the reduction of frictional losses on the crank operation.

    SpiralMax

A product is available that incorporates the principles of this form of induction. Green cotton produce the "Twister" air filters. These are induction type filter kits that incorporate the cone filter in a alloy case, shielding the filter from drawing in unwanted hot engine air. They have been proven to be very successful at what they do as the twisting action induced cleans the action of the airflow and reduces turbulence. I indeed have two of these items for sale, as they are excess to my requirements, if anyone is interested see parts for sale.

    Oil windage tray

The G60 is not fitted with a windage tray as standard kit. The plastic attatchment on the pick up tube on the oil pump is a basic baffle to keep oil around this area. Under "normal" driving conditions this should suffice. Prolonged high speed cornering however would require a purpose built baffled sump. The windage tray shown is a standard VW part and is a easily fitted component with the standard sump bolts. Extended bolts are not required as the windage tray also incorporates the sump gasket. The tray greatly improves crank operation and i would reccomend it's use in any performance engine.

    Carbon Canister

Sorry to be controversial, but i must say not keen on fuel vapours being vented in this way. Take the time to do a proper job, VW did.
  18. I'm glad the through away line was not wasted out there, eh VR6!!! Keeping the puns in context------- COOL.
  19. Into modified C's or not the whole point of cars like that of JD's is that someone has had the balls and the intelligence to challenge the undeniably reveered lines and make up of the Corrado. We all carry out one or another mod to our C's so are we not a little hypercritical to criticise others who have done the same. Yes this is an area which takes enthusiasm into the realm of art, and like all art is a matter of personal taste and never short of critics. Cars like JD's are not wearing mods for the sake of it being available at Halfords!!!! These cars are so designed because each element plays a part to compliment the design efficiency. IE the RS front bumper vastly improves air flow induced cooling for an engine that outstrips any factory offering. Yes there are styling features, these are evident to create balance. Of all the cars to pick at,this is certainly not the one. Love'em or hate'em see them at the shows and admire at least the skill, hours and efffort needed to create a car of this quality.
  20. Before you go buying the VR6 stats for your G60's i think you will find it is a different design and will not fit. The VR6 stat has a o.d. of 67mm while the G60's is 54mm. Here i am again with the old dilemer do i let on where to source cooler stats, and divulge more hard earnt knowledge?! Who you gonna call!!!

    Carbon Canister

Regarding removal of the CC. I have removed this item completely and the only hose to re-locate is the fuel tank vent line. This is simply connected into the air intake system to avoid fuel smells and to safely burn off emissions. The other concern is to blank off the outlet left open on the throttle valve assembly. I have run this arrangement for over a year without any adverse side effects.
  22. My personal reccomendation for cleaning out your intercooler is to use neat undiluted water soluble engine degreaser. I would not reccomend leaving this to soak in, as long term exposure can cause damage to seals. Simply fill apprx half the cooler with degreaser and aggitate to loosen more stubborn deposits. this process should only take 5 to 10 mins. Next flush through with cold water, and finaly leave cooler to drain completely. Hey Nugget fella, what charge cooler are you using.
  23. Hi Ross, i stand by my previous comment regarding induction kits. There are many more points that you clearly need to discuss. Please contact me for detail as you require. A "panel filter and drilled box" is not what i was saying. induction is a vital area of your engines running. Irrespective of the system you choose, if the installation is ill thought then it is this that will likely as not cost you power and possibly more money.
  24. My personal view of induction kits is that one should proceed with caution. In many cases people have done more to inhibit performance and inherantly settled for lower bhp in a trade for more induction noise. I was once told by a seasoned racer and fellow petrol head that "the loudest in the pits is not necessarily the fastest on the track". More noise albeit sometimes entertaining is never a substitute for proper tuning. With the 16v K Jet set up you can achieve improved air flow, better filtration, and a plentiful supply of cool dry air easily. We use a K&N panel filter, carry out careful modification to the filter box and duct air via 75mm ducting direct to the box. Exactly how this is installed ------- i'm not parting with all my tricks but the end result is a major improvement and Yes you decibel lovers get a belt of induction roar as well !! But the roar now is a by product of achieving improved performance. Induction kits are very vogue and installed properly can produce the goods, but don't loose sight of the objective.
