wow no updates for a long long time........ so what with the r32 sump and pump fitted , and then the heater matrix blowing (which was a fun job) actually not as bad as i thought id happily do another one...... went for a drive round europe 3000 ish miles in 9 days never missed a beat.bruge , brussells, nurnberg, mannheim, schwezingen, wurtzberg, blackforest, czeh republic, praha, etc and back again, some interesting sites and experiances, esp in praha with the rado....... never saw another rado the whole time we were in europe..... anyway back to the car, car is in the body shop right now, some pikey dick ran over it subsequently some damage was evident on the bonnet and roof!!!!!! all sorted now though insurance paid out, i paid the other half and got them to do the rest of the car! again , so i get it back saturday afternoon then it goes in for auto-manual conversion....cant wait il grab some more pics soon and show you what im talking about....

just repair the heater element in the seat piece of piss..... i have coverd this in my build thread...take a look at the pics

i use my car everyday and i wear dark blue combats for work the colour keeps coming out on my seats but the seats clean up perfectly they have worn extremly well, cant reccomend it enough

totally agree... but chris on here sold his car in parts for more than what it was worth as a whole.... lol well done to him ok it must have been a ball ache to strip the whole damn thing but if you got the room and time to do it fair play... keep breaking them boys !!! one day it will make the prices go up but like you said probably the next 10 years or so....lol just a last min thought, has any one noticed the price of mk2 golfs of late?? a couple months ago they were featching very strong money indeed is this still the case? and why all of a sudden such a hike in prices if they are ??

matt changed his gearbox fluid recently and he said it made the world of difference to the selection of gears maybe have a look at that first?

see im one of those people who value thier car at 5-6 grand all day long .... why?? find another one like it really.....and when you do i bet it will be priced very similar of not even more so.... i couldnt build my car for that now.... still.....i havent got overly expensive parts on my car but what i have got is some nice bits and pieces and everything i have got is of good quality and extremly clean ....i could strip my car and get that value i rekkon...the shell and the interior are concours the running gear is new ish (12-18 months) the car is probably worth more to me in time than bits! lol there have been a few nice examples go on here for well over 5 k same old though isnt it.....its only worth what someone is willing to pay.......of course that depends on the seller and how desperate he/she is trying to get rid of the car too, ive toyed several times recently of selling my car due to the love hate relationship we all seem to develop over time, but mine is now back in the garage and has been for the last 2 weeks having some body work done and a manual gear box conversion with some tricks, so ive started to miss it already im glad i havent sold and i will be glad when ive still got it next year and i will be even more pleased when its finally charged!!!!

hmmmm started my working life in the waste paper industry for my grand father car valeting for my uncle part time shop assistant in a model shop saturdays... telephone engineer by trade mainly pbx's for devon and cornwall police some other work involved hotel chains and shopping centres all over country back to the model shop full time west talk phone 4 phones porter blacks pub bar assistant p/t as well as phone 4 phones courtenay arms bar assitant p/t aswell as phone 4 phones and pb's!!! jolly abbot once a week with the other jobs....this was a manic time in my life.... left all jobs stayed at courtenay arms full time worked my up to licencee...good times.....5 years of good times!! pps plumbing blockbuster video intek communications kjc communications phones 4 u vodafone at last good job good money! t-mobile good job better money still connections business advisor self empolyed .......hated it city plumbing good job no prospects of improvement... tesco's!! produce manager started at the bottom on 7.5 hours a week just to get my foot in the door ,followed all thier in house traing programmes as soon as they were available and worked every hour of overtime i could now im running the produce department done it in a year and it is the most stressful hard working but rewarding job i have ever had ! lol and i never ever thought id say that. just need to carry on for another 5 years until i get the 100k a year job........

big reds can be grabbed for £250 from certain brakers constant supply so not botherd about brake cost.....new discs and pads will be dear but its a running cost you got to have so again as my brakes will need changing soon not too botherd...... wheels though obviouisly il sell my rims and then have cash towrds next set.... i like the way the car looks and sits currently on the 9's...i.e very wide i have shed loads of room on the rear arches so 17's if they do them in 9's would fit very easily.... i think the comps in the group buy are of an aquired taste, i will look at what else they do though any body got some pics to look at??

had a drink cant be botheres to use the search as its pretty crap if you want to go back and then back again as it doesnt seem to work.... so i have borbet 7.5s up fron and 9's on the rear.... the arches have been made to fit accordingly and all is well....................or is it??????? i think i fancy a change, i would like to have massive brakes, massive and i want the look of quality about the car,i dont want to have expensive bbs wheels, as most people have been there and done that , plus i dont /cant afford to pay the massivly over inflated price anyways, i would like some thing that looks quite cool and understated but when noticed 'yeah that works well' im not sure polished is for me anymore but im not ruling it out....are 17's too big? not sure...i like my car low and not looking like a pram, corrados look high in the middle....all of them do...... 16's cut you a bit of slack on this but borbets are a small wheel internally so very limited for brakes.... ramble ramble ramble, anyways what do people think what could i get on a budget? and what is going to suit the wide ass my car has got? i def need 9's on the rear...
