Oh and to add what keV said Noone here slows down for snow people still overtaking me at 100+ easily bloody dangerous and a little inconciderate to other drivers

I'm in Germany right now and have just driven down the bahns.. Slush snow ice in the French Belgium end but further down they clear the roads very well glad I got my winter tyres when I did!! The snow fall here is quite amazing though, well for me it is as living in the sw we don't see very much at all, it's coming down like heavy rain good for us it's not settling!!

I use winter tyres and I'm using a 195 /50 /15 Yes they do do. 205 / 50 /15 I should of had that one but it was only for the mk3 and the 195 is a cheaper option but it wasn't worth it the 195 puts your speedo out by 2.5% not to mention your fuel economy!!! Still very good tyre though for a cheapy primwell good grip no squeals fairly quite and planted through still water Second time to Germany this year next week as of next year probably 4-5 times to go over there so got to use what they stipulate, fitting times although not set in stone are from oct - Easter and yes your insurance is in valid even if someone hits you and you haven't the correct tyres....

sorry bud if you have turned the polerising filter over it would work .... sorry to say you have definatly not done this . :( have you taken a stanly blade to the lcd screen? white bulb? red filter? reverse the polar filter and you will get red numbers black back ground . if you need a link check here.... http://www.bitswap.com/smf/index.php?topic=5638.0

If you only changed the outer there would be no need to remove the complete shaft, However the inner box joints are splined not Allen key the size can't remember 35 or spmething The only difficult bit is taking the joint out of the hub as vws have a tendency to 'get stuck' lol have fun if it is One dodgy but very effective way of getting them out is to use two hammers but it is not recommended use only as last resort
-
Erm am I missing something? Why don't you just buy the outer c.v joint and re fit .... You don't need a new shaft. And top tip if the shaft as you say was dislocated it is very possible to reattach without raking boot off depending how quickly you noticed it , otherwise just a new outer c.V joint is required no panic no biggy. Cheers

i really like the idea but i cant see any way really of making it look good , its an old car ld styling this is just too modern for it ive thought about loads of different ways and i just cant see it looking any good with out screaming cheap nasty mod..... what would it look like if the strip was along the bottom again but then very slightly kicked up between the main and spot ?? probably crap still but id like to have a look....
-
Yes I agree Chris they would make your car look good but not awesome like they do my car!! Lol Done worry they are not kicking About a workshop floor!! Sadly inside the car an removed when working on it!

I have a load of waxoil to do the underside of mine including all the panel nozzles etc to get in the tough places but talking to my dad his friends say it's crap that they recommend a spray grease as it coats everything stays runnier for longer?, The waxoil cools quite quickly when it hits the panals and does not penetrate every nook and crannie that and it makes bit of a mess! Still I rekkon itl be good for under my arches etc -

ABS Light stays on - How do I see which sensor has failed ?
C488ADO replied to John-M's topic in Drivetrain
when testing with a multimeter yes you are correct looking fo rthe lowest resistance iirc you might need to turn the wheel to see if it changes the ohmage there is a whole section on this somewhere in the autodata website i used it several times on older cars ive had and saved me £££££ on hourly rates!
