  1. and more details regarding the car and history?..you have alluded to it not being a perfect example but dont's mention what needs attention. It looks nice from the photos provided. GLWTS
  2. Sorry to hear that! But fair enough, that's my constant battle too. Pork or VR!
  3. Roof-bars are now sold. The BBS Solitudes are still available though. £120 collection only from Sutton, Surrey or Mayfield, East Sussex Airbox is also still available
  4. Exactly. I bet this car needs a lot more than £800 to get it to the standard of many on this forum
  5. There are a few out there that are asking strong money when you can see the car is questionable, in terms of spec, advert detail, seller profile, mileage, condition, dodgy after market 'improvements', missed history etc..at least 2 or 3 on Autotrader fall into much of that description. With a car I generally look at the seller as much as the vehicle. I have rarely ever owned a car that has broken down so think I am a good judge. People asking top money and then listing the things that don't work. Cars listed at £12k+ when the sunroof is knackered etc..though some of the worst cars tend to be with dealers currently, squeezing the market and selling turds They are obviously great cars when maintained properly throughout their lives. However, as with any sought after classic car you are buying rarity and the cool factor/ownership experience as much as the quantifiable performance. They are only going to become rarer and more sought after in the short to medium term. Mine makes me smile every time I go near it and other people's reactions to the car are generally life affirming. ..and FYI a 100k miler VR is really really low mileage! Properly maintained it will be sensational
  6. Lovely looking car. If only it had leather it may just be perfect! Well, aside from the sunroof not working on a £12.5k Corrado!! The mileage worries me though, that is so low I would be as concerned as with very high mileage. Cars need to be used. The lowest mileage Corrado I have owned (58k miles after 21 years) was the only one I've had that ever even threatened to break down! It had 22 VAG stamps but had trouble starting it and it used to cut out occasionally. It never let me down but just felt like it hadn't been driven enough in recent years. Most of my Corrados have averaged between 4000-7000 miles a year, this seems to be the sweet spot with mileage (providing regular maintenance has also been carried out).. Having said that I would love to have such a low mileage VR in my garage as well as a daily VR
  7. The Airbox & Filter are still for sale. UK buyers only please
  8. Welcome back to ownership..a longer gap than most! Look forward to hearing more about your car
  9. Won't ship to the continent, but if you want to arrange a courier that would be fine
  10. Can't believe it still hasn't sold!! such a bargain way into a quality VR
  11. Complete VR6 Airbox and Filter from a 1995 VR6. In excellent condition with no holes or damage. Looks like new. It has come off a car with 98k miles on the clock. £65 posted or can be collected from Sutton, Surrey for £55. I also have other parts for sale on the forum. Please see the advert for Roofbars & Storm Solitude Alloys. If bought in conjunction with either of these items I will sell the Airbox for £45. UK only, unless you can arrange for a courier to collect from my home address
  12. Really not a fan of the US editions, with the crazy electric seat-belts, indicator position-orange side reflectors etc. The American market used to butcher 70s/80s 911s with their bumper/crash protection rules.
  13. The Storm BBS Solitude 15" Alloy wheels are all in need of a Refurb. They all have corrosion and scuffs, but no cracks or serious damage. I bought them to just use as Winter Wheels. The tyres are all useable condition and have some tread left. I would be looking for £120 for the set. Not really willing to split. The Roofbars are the original Votex OEM Corrado Aero Roofbars. They have the drawing of a Corrado in profile on the underside of each bar showing where to secure to the car. All fairly simple. These have the slots in the top to fit the T-bar fixings. I have used these in the past for transporting mountain bikes via Thule 591/561s. The Roofbars are in good condition with the usual age related marks. They come with two keys and the Allen-key tool as well as a VW canvas carry bag with handles. Unfortunately they only come with one of the four rubber feet that sit between the bars and the car. The other three have been lost. Somebody with better fabrication skills than me should be able to make some rubber gaskets to easily protect the car. I am informed that these rubber feet are also the same on the Votex Bars for the B5 Audi A4. These bars would normally be hundreds of pounds due to their rarity. However, due to the missing rubber feet I am just looking for £100. Collection only due to the size and weight of these items, from Sutton, Surrey. I also have an original Airbox & nearly new Filter which is available. Surplus to requirements since I fitted the BMC CDA. It's in excellent original condition having come off a standard spec VR6 with 98k miles on the clock. £65 or £45 if bought with the other parts above. All are in storage, so petrol to get there and back a factor for me!
  14. The only new cars I'm interested in currently are Lotus, Morgan and Caterham products. Pretty much everything else has already moved too far in the wrong direction as far as tech and electric gizmos are concerned..not to mention the awful oversized styling and poor driving experience.
  15. Your Storm looks really good, welcome to the Forum and ownership.
  16. It's certainly getting more costly by the year and also less socially acceptable. However, the buggars will have to drag me kicking and screaming from 6 cylinder petrol engined cars.
  17. I will be there just haven't signed up yet, expect there are a lot of people who are the same
  18. Good effort! Should always make sacrifices for the cars we love
