  1. Tell me about it. I never see any! People really need to get them out of the garage as daily drives again! Hoping to see a couple at the upcoming 29th Anniversary National Meet Brands Hatch?!
  2. Thanks for that. If Huggy or anyone has the original bars please get in touch. I'm currently carrying my bike around with rear seats folded which is far from ideal. I don't just want to grab a set of universal bars as have no trust that they won't damage car! Silly design feature that the rubber feet pieces just fall off constantly!
  3. When I was down at JMR the other week they had a Rallye in for restoration. So much presence and I couldn't take my eyes off it..wish I could afford a good un.
  4. Look forward to seeing the photos. It's a long time since I was in a Mk2. Last one was an Oak Green 16v 5 door with rainbow stripe interior. Bought it sight unseen for £925. Turned up to collect in middle of winter and found passenger window down, full of twigs and rain! It was on 179k miles and in a rough state. It did have working AirCon though which I think is pretty rare on them. It needed constant coolant top ups and just about made the 200 miles home. Ran it locally for several months and it was a lovely old thing. Sold it on for slightly more than what I paid for it but doubt it's on the road now as it was so far gone. Lovely modern classics if well maintained. Enjoy
  5. Oak Green to compliment the Classic Green VR?
  6. Sold my original OEM Votex Roofbars with a VR, then a year later bought them back for my next Corrado. Unfortunately in the meantime the chap had lost 3 of the rubber feet!..and I only found out once I had picked them up from 100 miles away! Still on the look out for the bits. Also regret selling every Corrado I've ever sold!
  7. Welcome & good luck with your Corrado mot quest!
  8. Not too keen myself, but I follow his YouTube account purely for the Corrado content. I'm willing to tolerate most things for VR goodness..particularly Blackberry (or Mulberry as the old lady down the road refers to mine)
  9. Some epic perseverance there and car looking lovely. Aqua Blue a sensational colour
  10. Got the seats out and cleaned under them. I thought I had a clean immaculate car till I did this! Then used cotton buds to clean the interior vents etc!..epic OCD cleaning day!
  11. A good effort. The car looks sensational in the sunshine
  12. The write off thing is a bit of a lottery on C/D. I once bought a Corrado VR which was a write off. I forget which of C or D, probably D? The less serious? It was a while ago. However, the salient fact is that the car was written off because someone broke into it! One door lock was broken and the thief stole the electric Recaro seats! When the insurer went to VW for a quote to replace the answer was predictable £000s! Hence the car was written off and the owner bought it back. He subsequently installed some lovely condition Corrado leather standard seats for a couple of hundred quid and just enjoyed the car! I bought it and it was an excellent car for me too. I undoubtedly got it slightly cheaper than the market rate and was happy to do so. Sold it on again for a bit less than the market rate. Buyers take a view on things usually when presented with the facts. I just am astounded this car didn't sell on the forum as its undoubtedly well beneath market value for a car without the marker in commensurate condition
  13. Welcome along, great to see people still using them as daily drives too! It's a lovely looking VR..aside from those woeful stickers! Very eighties.
  14. I can't believe that no one in the community has gone for this. Quite a few recently have been asking for a cheap but original car in good fettle. This would appear to be the one
  15. That looks lovely. Standard and well maintained. Good way into a VR for someone on a budget
  16. So many recently. From the carparks at Goodwood to the high street in Southborough. The one that sticks out was from an unlikely source. Chap ambling across the road whilst I was stuck in traffic crawling alone. He was dressed like he had had a tough day labouring at the site, looked like he was well lubricated and sipping from a can as he meandered towards me across the road. My natural thought was 'please don't knock the car as you stagger past'. Needn't have worried as he gave me a thumbs up and mumbled 'cracking car that mate, lovely'...phew!
  17. Superb work. That bonnet is stunning
  18. That sounds like a lucky escape?! I must admit as someone who has lived near Dover HGVs are a constant worry, especially when driving the Boxster. Being so low down they sometimes don't see and without a proper roof it could get serious quite quickly! I am always super cautious but have still had a few squeaky bum moments!.another chap who lives near me had his SLK written off when a Larry side swiped him, bit of a lottery
  19. AwesomeGTi have the blue tinted mirrors available for a few quid more if you fancy an upgrade
  20. That is a lovely base for someone to work on. This colour combination very special and quite rarer, same as my last VR. Great spec too.
  21. Bump..or if anyone knows of a company/individual who would be able to reproduce them at a reasonable cost? Or if anyone has a knackered set of the bars with good rubber gaskets/feet, I would be willing to purchase the whole lot
  22. Thanks for the reply. I am also fussy and ideally want the OEM look waffle type too. I will send you a PM regards
