Chap in my village who owns a 996 Carrera 4S always has a chat to me about my Porsche, but very matter of fact. He accosted me outside the bakers yesterday drooling over my Corrado.he didn't realise I had one! As he walked away I just sat looking at the car in the sunshine and smiling to myself!

40, owned my first Corrado 2.0 16v in 2003. Since then I have owned a further 8 VR6s.

I just bought a set of Corrado scripted matts from my local VW dealer. They were a very reasonable £65 and the parts chap stated they had 17 sets in stock

My first memory of sportscars are of my childhood babysitter. She owned a black Lotus Éclat and I thought it was a spaceship! Evenings when the parents wanted a night out were the most exciting of my young life! But for me my current cars are kind of what I aspired to when growing up. I used to lust after Corrado VR6s when I was a teenage driver and my big regret is that I never owned one from new (too much of a stretch for a Uni student even before the days of tuition fees!). I used to window shop in all the local VWDealers (the one that used to vaguely tolerate my dreaming had previously sold me a very nice low miles Alpine White Mk2 Golf Driver). As soon as I could afford the insurance costs on a Corrado I took the plunge. Almost straight after Uni my best mate had bought himself a brand new Porsche Boxster 2.7. I swore to myself that I would also own one someday. It took me a few years, but currently on my third Boxster. The cars I really lusted after have always been the 90s cars though. Porsche 993 Carrera/Turbo, Ferrari F355 Manual, BMW E30/36 M3, Maserat Shamal, Porsche 968, Lancia Delta Integrale, classic Range Rover and of course the legendary McLaren F1.

That seems steep. Cars just aren't selling at that level yet unless they have been cosseted from new with all areas of concern addressed over the years. There are cars out there that have low owners and low miles that need a heck of a lot of recommissioning work. The car really needs a more detailed advert. Cars with dealers that are 8k+ seem to hang around forever. That trader in Derby for example -
The Td6 is quite slow. If going for diesel the TDV8 is the one to have. I once had a V8 petrol classic Range Rover (a cosseted example with muchos service history) and loved it to bits, it was the last of them with the soft-dash. I sold it due to prodigious thirst for unleaded! I drove it from Surrey to Teeside and back, went through £450 of fuel whilst taking it easy! Using kick-down acceleration you could actually see the petrol gauge moving towards empty! Quite dispiriting despite the lovely wafty feeling! LPG is essential on the petrol version unless you own an oil field

On the hunt again, this time hopefully for a long term keeper. Been out of a Corrado for a couple of years and have missed having one in my life. I sold the last one as was living away from UK with work and didn't want to leave it standing outside unattended. I now have a garage and am settled back here. So,looking for a late model VR, preferably an original darker colour (blue,black,green,blackberry...definitely not red or white) with leather but condition and history the more important factor. Budget dependent on condition and spec. Originality is quite desirable for me too. Not really looking for a heavily modified car. Please private message me if interested in selling in next 2-4 weeks? Cheers folks

I have been out of a Corrado for the longest period since I first bought a 16 valver in 2003. I sold my immaculate Aqua Blue VR in September 2015 and have regretted it ever since. I had taken another long term posting with work and wouldn't be able to drive it. However now my life has become more settled and I really want another VR, this time to definitely keep long term. If anybody is considering selling their VR in the next month or two please get in touch with me by Personal Message, rather than posting here. I am open on colour, would prefer leather and budget dependent on car. I am only looking for original factory spec cars or subtle mods. Cheers -
Sorry, Pm sent

I would love to do this as never driven in Scotland (other than collecting a Corrado from Linlithgow in 2014). My Dad has just retired to Cove/Helensburgh so would be good to combine the two, subject to being back in a Corrado again-which I should be by May (it's been too long away!).. Will pm you Wendy

Some excellent work there fella, well rescued that man

I used to have a midnight blue auto, really liked the drive. I would generally prefer the manual, but the condition made me buy it...N866 XSS

I bought a Tamiya Avante a couple of years ago. It cost hundreds! I loved building it and could finally afford it...couldn't first time round in the late 80s! Go for it!
