Speedo Binnacle Cover Reproductions - NOW AVAILABLE (December 2016)
Billzeebub replied to Jim's topic in Forum Group-Buys
I would also be interested Jim. Cheers -
I have moved around a fair bit with work. Originally trained up to be a Cocktail Bartender whilst at Uni, then managed city centre bars and clubs around UK. Next became an Estate Agent in prime London banker postcodes, before managing a couple of provincial offices. For the last 10 years or so have been a Civil Servant, aside from a brief interlude when I managed my local country pub/restaurant. Pretty envious of some of the technical skills you other people have.

Have you checked VW dealers. I picked up the correct Corrado one from my local dealer a couple of years ago. Around £50 I think.

The "what I did to my Corrado today" thread...

Fitted a new heated rear window switch as the old one wasn’t illuminating. Then sanded and painted the slightly crusty bonnet support arm. Cleaned out the area around fuel-flap/drain. Then fitted 3 new Bosch wioers and replaced both headlamp dipped bulbs with halfords superduper jobies..not sure any brighter!..will try an updated loom and teflectors next. -
Thanks for the update. Reckon you will have a lot of takers for this once the fabrication is ready. One of the best mods for us coffee addicts!

Provisionally sold

For Sale; a good condition used OEM airbox (with nearly new filter) out of a 1995 VR6. Excellent used condition with no damage. Has come out of a well maintained 95k mile car. Looking for £60 collection/plus postage. PM for details etc.
-
Any news with this? I would definitely take one in black.
-
Looking for roofbars/rack. Ideally either the OEM Vortex Corrado bars, or the Thule ones. Thanks

They always do. That's why convoys are so much fun

I bought a lovely VR that had an insurance marker on it due to someone nicking the front leather electric recaros out of it. Insurer had merely got a quote from VW for 2 new ones and then looked at the book price for the car! I think from memory the seats were priced at around £6k in the quote! Car written off as uneconomic! I bought the car without hesitation for a little bit less than market value. The standard issue beige leather seats that had gone back in were great. It will always put some people off though. Even minor parking knocks write them off nowadays unless you can argue value rather than book price with insurance company. Shame

A white H-reg 16v sitting on black Borbets parked up in the town square Tremadog, North Wales just now. CCGB sticker in rear window. Looked pretty tidy aside from a couple of parking dings

Way before the Corrado qualifies for zero road tax I would have thought we will be paying a humungous new polluters tax to keep our ice engines on the road! We are seeing it already with plans for daily payments coming in for bringing older cars into city/town centres. As people appear to be generally slow adopters of the electric tech govt will legislate to price our lovely petrol powered machines off the road. I certainly don't anticipate ever owning a tax neutral Corrado!

I always go on the Thursday these days, I find it quieter and everything seems easier and more relaxed. I know I miss out on bits and pieces but try to watch much of the weekend on Goodwoods site.

Only mods I ever do are a BMC Carbon induction kit (easily reversible) and a cupholder in place of the rear ashtray. The cup-holder along with air-con are pretty much the only items I wish the factory had included (along with the shrick) Other popular items which are subtle modifications but add greatly to useability are Bigger brakes, Lupo wipers and an uprated headlight loom.

What a sensational duo to have parked on your drive. Your VR is looking spot-on. Regards the M3, such a lovely colour. Also, there is a chap on YouTube with a really good E92 M3 focused channel. It's called Road&Race if you aren't already aware. I know about it as his last car was a Boxster 986.

East Sussex today at around lunchtime spotted a standard looking green Storm on a N-plate heading through Cross-in-Hand by the Esso garage towards Five Ashes. Looked lovely in the sunshine
-
And if it still had original supplying dealer stickers & no.plates it would be worth at least £14k on one of these Mickey Mouse dealers forecourts
-
How much is a set of the electric Recaro's going for these days? The car does look and sound a bit rough around the edges for that kind of money.
-
Sunday around 2pm. A standard looking and pristine black N plate VR6 in heavy traffic heading north through the M23/A23 towards Purley.
-
L plate Dragon Green VR parked up on Parkway in Camden around midday. Couple of London kisses on bumpers but looked nice enough
-
Some great work there. The beige is hard to keep spotless over the years

Some ******* stole the badge off my Storm...
Billzeebub replied to Mystic Rado's topic in General Car Chat
I think the way to proceed with a Storm is to remove the badges yourself and keep them with the spares nice and safe. Really shouldn't have to but they are now rare and valuable. People have always nicked rare badges off cars. It used to be the VW roundel/16v badges off the front/rear of GTi Golfs.
