hi rich im thinking of doing the same kind of thing on my corrado. have you made anymore progress since your last post? some more pics would be nice

iv just found this thread and i agree the corsa is a complete monster :gag: the BMW though i think is a different story(its something i would never do to a car or drive just to make that clear) i think cars like this are a good way of showing what companies can do on a modding level. think of the Sema show, they are completely far out but some mods make it onto cars in a smaller way. you have to admit there were some trick touches on the BMW. although real world modding should be kept minimal or simplistic i had a spare 5 mins so i thought i'd voice my views

on the rears there are 2 mounts. one fits on the top of the strut and the other goes on the inside of the car

i am in the process of fitting my new V3's to my VR6 heres my problem - i still have one more nut and the big washer to fit on top but im running outta thread. on the V3's the thread at the top of the strut is smaller than original. is this a problem?or can i just fit nut to nut(forgetting the washer) to stop them moving? anyone else come across this
-
hi jimmy what model corrado have you got?
-
iv got KW V3's ready to be fitted. has anyone fitted any of these themselves? there is loads to do setting them up, i was just wondering if is easy enough to do yourself well pleased with them though, solid and good looking kit

do you replace the backing plate when you upgrade the discs? can you get one to fit a 288mm discs? also are they really necessary?
-
iv always wanted a white one - great looking car cat D - what was wrong with it then?
-
just been looking through old threads for inspiration. i like the grill on your sub 'coolrado' - such a simple but effective idea, quality :D what did your install turn out like Dee-Vub?
-
after the basing my bank balance has had this month i dont think garage fitting is an option  the cars got no wheels or brakes anyway so getting there would be a problem too :) i ordered the parts i needed from VW today. if some one could just check i got the right stuff mk4 Calipers- 1J0615423 / 1J0615424 i got new carriers instead of refurbing my old ones - 1H0615425 / 1H0615426 (apparently the new corrado carriers are exactly the same as mk3 golf carriers) i got new handbrake cables aswell all i need now is the conversion hoses - wheres the best place for them?
-
i going to get the calipers you mentioned at the beginning of the tread. as i am lazy im going to buy new carriers aswell. what should i get. corrado carriers or the mk4 golf ones? or are they the same? did you have any problems fitting the new calipers 3corsameal?
-
i hope you get a reply to this because i have been thinking the same thing. iv found there is very limited struts for the corrado
-
thanks for the replies guys dave when you say you jacked the engine up do you mean from underneath the car or from a stand over the top? ye dinkus its funny how most things end up being hit with a hammer

£650 for the wheels i think :confused4: not with tyres though
-
im liking the c Where are the update pics then? :D it does look good in the photoshop pic - i'd hate to drive anywhere that low though
-
hi Karl im getting 16's - Black MO competition 6 spoke the alloys are being made from scratch so they have checked the clearance of the calipers and its looking good so far - fingers crossed  should be a snug fit - i think others on here are running Ap's with 16's though
-
i picked up the bolts today from VW Canterbury. the guy who works on the parts desk called taffy was a top bloke and was happy to help which was nice my new brakes will be turning up next week. Ap racing 4 pots up front and a big rear disc conversion. Godspeed are making a cool set up for the rears. it will make changing the rear discs as easy as the fronts (hopefully) i have now just got to work out what to order for replacement rear calipers(im trying to go down the Mk4 golf upgrade path) im going to try and get some more pics next week of progress for now some tasters of whats to come
-
im going to be changing the front wishbones/control arms next week but i can see problems already on the passenger side all the bolts are clear but on the drivers side the oil pan(i think) is in the way. i cant see how i can undo the bolt or even remove it. what should i do?
-
cheers david that is what i was going to do but i thought i'd check first
-
if i want to get the kit myself is there anyway of just getting the bracket on its own?
-
i have got powerflex bushes like you. how do you remove this bit of the old bushes? do you just cut it off?
-
my powerflex bushes turned up today and i ordered all my new bolts from VW. i should have everything i need i got next week off work so hopefully im going to get the majority of the suspension finished :)
-
oh ok where do you get the kit from?
-
hello pianowire where can you get the thingy in picture 2 on your first post? the bit that extends where the carriers fit, i assume this is vital for the calipers to fit over the dscs
