There's a fairly cheap fix for that http://www.cbauto-solutions.co.uk/cookbots

I've got a 225 That I use daily. It was ok when I first bought it with very good history and a very reliable car. I felt it needed a bit more so have BC Racing coilovers, different bushes, Brembo brakes, remapped with oversize TIP and a few other bits I've done along the way. It's great to live with daily, handles, is comfortable, puts up with lots of abuse, has no worries with Edition 30 Golfs . My advice would be to drive some but make sure it has good history and important items kept up like the Haldex oil and filter changes

i'd recommend some plain Brembo or Pagid discs from Euros when they have 30% off, which is about every other day

I'm watching with interest to see what results you get from this setup. Not massively relevant but I'm going to be running an AEB in mine but with a K04 turbo -
Got my Jetex tip all polished up by the stainless boys at work, looks like new Car is now out of the workshop and more to come soon. It's filthy and needs a wash I took it for a drive up the road. Brakes need bedding in and bleeding again, alignment needs setting up and some camber taken out and the rear coils need winding up about 10mm I'm looking forward to this next year

Could be something simple like cheap discs running out of line when more heat is put into them
-
What manufacturer of discs have you been fitting?

Hi, the slam panel may be spoken for. I have a chap wanting to see it tomorrow. If it doesn't sell I'll let you know Thanks

I've got the spacers in the link below fitted http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/performance/wheel-spacers-vehicle-specific/st-suspension-wheel-spacers-kit-pair Mine are listed as 10mm spacers but are stamped up 11.5mm and fit no problems. I did previously buy some Creations Motorsports ones but they did not fit over the centre of the hub and then decided they didn't want to know about the problem or refund me the ST spacers are part of KW Suspension I believe so should be good

The interior trim? It's grey and has a fixing hole where an alarm sensor has been fitted, any good to you?

I've got one and it's all working. yours for £30

I'm a fan of the standard airbox with a different filter, i've only ever really seen power loss from open cones due to sucking in hotter air and even the BMC CDA due to it being enclosed and restricted there.

Looks like a good start. The car next on my list is an e46 M3

I'll be throwing my Jetex exhaust on soon, so took a quick video for comparison with the existing Scorpion system. Both are running a de-cat pipe
-
Thanks Anna, I'll get my order in soon

What I meant was your driveshafts should bolt up to the gearbox, so don't worry about hubs or anything else along those lines (someone please correct me if I'm talking rubbish). This will retain your wide track, 5 stud setup which is probably also better for wheel and brake choice too these days. With the cost of a 20v these days they are a good option but I do still appreciate a six cylinder. Long term, if you are looking for more power in the future, the 20v is probably the better option

The rubber top mount fits under the upper gold coloured plate. That upper plate will go metal to metal inside the top of the suspension turret. Nice set of coilovers for the price. I've got them on my 8n TT and can't fault them

I've got a few mates with 20vt mk2 Golfs and a couple with 20vt Corrados and no LSD running 200bhp plus and no real issues. If I were you, I'd figure it all out and get everything that you need in front of you, bolt it all together and get it running well, then take it for a drive to decide if you need a LSD or not. Could save you a few quid. Ultimately they are very worthwhile but could be something to aim for and not worry about immediately. I'll be running 300 plus but not sure on the gearbox I want to use yet so I'm holding off on LSD fitment

If you can make it up to £70 all in to cover the postage, they are fairly weighty Thanks

I'm not an expert but i'll try and help out. you'll want engine mounts, gearbox, front crossmember, custom coolant plumbing, downpipe (look at trackslag.com). A good mate of mine is running a vr rad in his 8v converted to 20vt so you should be ok there. I'm fairly certain you can keep your driveshafts and 5 stud setup as this is a popular conversion on mk2 Golfs, going from 4 stud to 5 stud. As a shameless plug, I do have a crossmember in good condition, Vibra Technics front mount and a couple of gearboxes, inc a CTN code diesel box that I may be tempted to part with Which 20v and turbo will you be going for?

ah, i'm not going that way any time soon
