A knock sensor is just a microphone tuned to detect pinking / pre ignition / detonation to prevent engine damage. The block needs to be clean and the sensor torqued to the correct value to work properly. Unplug it and drive the car, if it pinks when unplugged but not when its plugged back in again its working.

I've got a full PAS set up from Hennys old G60. I bought the car engineless so I'm unsure how good the set up is and the shell has been standing for 6 years since the engine was sold

Ive picked up some vr parts today, the seller has a genuine vr dizzy thats only done 300 miles. His car has been standing for 3 years due to rotten sills. He wants 100 quid for it. I have his number should you want it?

I have VR6 (G60 280mm 4 stud conversion) calipers and carriers, nipples are free moving as are the pistons, they need resealing IMO as they're 20 years old. The carriers have the slide pins and are free moving also. Looking for £40 on the condition that the calipers are suitable as exchange units for reconditioning (if you decide to use them its at your own risk!)

Have you checked the loom for breaks where it goes from the door pillar to inside the door as it tends to break there due to flexing opening and closing the door, the insulation can remain intact even though the wire inside is broken so give it a gentle pull, any stretch and the wire is broken

Take a pic and post it up. Most of the chips on the board will be surface mounted with tiny legs soldered to the board, the remapped chip will be mounted into a push fit socket and the legs will be thicker. Similar to bottom left in this pic
