  1. Both pairs similar, paint is dull (but might polish up) a few chips to either pair Make an offer, include postage if needed ( I can’t post until Wednesday now anyway). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I'm of the understanding that stainless bolts into alloy castings is a bad idea, when you remove the bolt the thread in the casting comes out with it. Looks better than new
  3. Nr Nantwich, I have 2 pairs I'll have to look at to see what condition they're in
  4. You need to be a paid subscriber to post in most sections here now. I have a pair in Cheshire
  5. Turn the key and video the instuments, post here. Video the engine also
  6. Cranking is when the starter turns the engine start or non start the engine turns?
  7. Do rpms show on the tachometer on the dash when cranking?
  8. I was looking forward to the quayside photo with the ships in the background. Hopefully it will find a good home
  9. G60 owners will advise you better, I'm sure that's the box big power G60 owners fit to get ultimate 0-60 time? You don't need a change to 3rd to get to 60?
  10. VR bellhousing is different to 4 cylinder. CTN should get your G60 to 60MPH in second gear (saving a gear change over standard)?
  11. If it’s just a small seal the coolant pump will chop it up?
  12. An over heating cat can also be caused by oxygen / fuel burning inside a hot cat
  13. Cat with one lambda, no other emissions stuff in official U.K. imported cars.
  14. I wasn’t suggesting your car had SAI, cars in general post Corrado have it to warm the cat. Id have thought if the cat was blocked down stream would be cold? I’ve seem videos of cars with blocked / broken up cats with there manifolds and downpipes glowing red, so a post cat temp sensor seems odd
  15. A cat needs to be hot to work (later cars have secondary air pumps to push oxygenated air into the cat to help warm it up and work quicker) as do lambdas (hence they have heaters built in). Is the second after cat sensor another lambda? Again later cars have pre and post cat lambdas to measure the effectiveness of the cat.
  16. Check the connection to the clocks, 8V MK2 Golf had an earth to the clocks on the corner of the engine cam cover, might be worth a look there?
  17. Thurs 31 March Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. To add to Keyo and Crasher, on one wants a job for life anymore, 2 - 3 years seems to be the average in the dairy industry I work in, they're just finding their feet / semi competent and off they go. Years of computer games give them no physical strength or tecnic - even one who'd been going to a gym for 15 years! They all like the sick pay system, I bet Keyo has come across a few fairweather scaffolders too?
  19. MK1s and 2s had voltage stabilisers, if you didn't have them the temp and fuel gauges would read higher engine running than off due to higher voltage from the alternator, these gauges need a V S to deliver 9 / 10v constant. OP KEEP AWAY FROM THE RAD FANS WHEN CHECKING BELOW - LOOSE CLOTHING AND DIGITS TOO! If the stat is stuck open or opening early you'll feel it by compareing top and bottom rad hose temps, same temps from cold stat stuck open, bottom cold until 70 degrees its opening early. Use a thermometer to confirm the gauge is reading correctly
  20. Our system has the master cylinder on the servo attached to the pedal, piped to the abs unit, yours has the abs unit combined with master on the pedal? what are your symptoms?
  21. If you’re LHD your set up is completely different to RHD uk
