Which coilovers do you use on your really bumpy local roads?
Leonard replied to Leonard's topic in Drivetrain
Well you would hope so for a grand wouldnt you  But I still wouldnt bet on it  The V3's have adjustable compression and rebound damping over the V2's I think. So hopefully can give it a decent low speed ride yet will still handle amazingly when flat out -

Do you fancy moving to Matlock? We have a castle and some cable cars? Its pretty to in a northern kinda way  lol, youve sold it well but i love it too much down here on the south coast.. what coilies you thinking of investing in? LOL What if I told you we had a REAL BIG resevoir, that almost looks like the sea in the fog or with low cloud? Initially I thought KW V2's at circa £850 but then I saw the free fitting deal on the V3's for £995 so thought that basically works out the same! :help: -
Defo no bent wheels or weird wearing tyres. I always thought that you could fit your own wheel bearing as they required a special fitting tool/press or some such :confused4:

Only just saw your power figs as well 8) That's awesome. In fact its all round awesome :notworthy: How do you find the ride on your H&R coilies? You have same size wheels as me and run a nice looking drop as well. I am really struggling on my bumpy roads with my Koni/Eibach set up :help:

Do you feel confident enough in that statement to give me a money back guarantee  Found the KW V3's for £995 fitted at AMD which I thought was pretty good considering :bonk: -
Well hopefully without upsetting my mechanic I will pass your wise words on
-
Yeah that is kind of what I thought. Bummer LOL

Soooo were any conclusions made on wether there were any possible upgrade bearings available? Or is an upgrade just not possible due to the small size of them? My rear ones have started to go again and I have done 4,000 miles over 18 months :cuckoo: Matt :(

I did one of these was a good laugh. 'Tutors' were a good bunch and as I turned up in an Evo I think they a) thought I would be able to drive fast. And b) Because of this tried to scare the sh1t out of me at every opportunity  Quick tip for you a Rally prepped Evo doesnt have ABS. Wondered what the hell the instructor was on about screaming BRAKE at me constantly as we slid towards the barriers? Told him afterwards he needed to be screaming OFF the Brake, Off the Brake  I got to drive the Evo on tarmac (after breaking the Scooby) and then they had some rally prepped 205's and Novas for the off road stuff. Off road was fun but insane. Guy just kept saying more power, more power. I had my foot to the floor constantly with full lock going around a circular circuit in a dust cloud constantly switching from understeer to opposite lock  There was a passenger lap in a Leon Cupra R (sloooooow) and a chance to do a bit of go carting as well. If you have to choose between the Scooby or the Evo choose the Evo  And have fun! Woohoo

Blimey 150! If you are considering an engine swap why not do something a little more daring :norty:

I think Scotts VW of London would specify Conolly leather for you and have it upholstered in London. And maybe the special edition Campaign model (6 made given to best VW dealers) Matt
-
I did a lot of research into this earlier in the year. And the consensus was the std clutch from your VAG dealer is probably the best. I changed mine at 14 years and 85k and it looked like it still had a couple of years in it to be honest  Matt

You have to keep it now! :D

Petition against national speed limit reduction
Leonard replied to dukest's topic in General Car Chat
Exactly at the end of the day it will either be ignored by the majority thus causing animosity from law abiding citizens Or the 'people who always drive 10 mph under whatever speed limit is in force' will p1ss EVERYONE off and cause accidents with people taking unecessary overtaking risks. -

Amen to that brother! -

-
Could do with these also. Mine have never clamped on properly and look a mess.

Hey that is a cool read mate and I LOVE those wheels!

New battery and then disconnect a terminal if you think you are not going to use the C for a while? With no mains power I cannot really see another option :confused4:
