  1. No probs Andy, you are more than welcome to join me. Better get on with sorting it out :)
  2. A bit more progress tonight. Removed the front bumper and the front panel which I am replacing with a tidier one as this one has some dents and damage which I don't want. Upon investigation of the basics I am pleased with almost everything, even the lower panels are not the worst I have seen. Did notice a crack on the rad top pipe so that will be replaced, also I have spotted a repair to the crack pipe so that's another part to replace ASAP. Some little pics... Jay
  3. I will have an empty car if anyone wants to jump in somewhere between Wilmslow and Southam :) Jay
  4. I had a look under my car last night while I was tinkering and the wishbones are absolutely dead level. So you can base your start point on that. Jay
  5. Following ChrisL's suggestion on the rolling road day thread I thought I would start a "Northern convoy" thread. I am heading down from Cheshire early in the morning and would be happy to meet up with people at Knutsford services. With regard to people heading across from the North east we could meet somewhere else on route. So thoughts? Jay
  6. I am after the corner trim piece from the drivers door, along with the foam piece which goes behind it. Must have both the post and the clip intact on the back.. Cheers Jay
  7. Well worst case I will be at stealth in my bog standard car so people can measure what they like there... :)
  8. Nope, wasn't me. I picked the car up two weeks before that and its not moved from my garage since :) Jay ---------- Post added at 12:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:44 PM ---------- Yeah I think the reg is trying to make me do a R32 conversion to the car.... M 3.2 BABY! ;) Jay
  9. Right, heater is going on in the garage when I get home tonight and I am going to get started on the car. Got until the 27th to get it ready for the rollers at Stealth. It will be a long way off where I want it, but hopefully it will be reliable and running as it should.
  10. That's more the sort of thing I was thinking of, purposeful and lightweight.... What tyres you running on those? Got any wider shots? Jay
  11. Always really liked yours on these. Thinking something like this, more motorsport orientated. Want as light as possible too. Always loved RCs but would have to have 17s ;) Keep em coming...
  12. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automobile_handling :) Main focus is on roll centre, if you lower the car you want to keep the wishbones pointing up/level by extending the position of the pivot point (ball joint) down. Jay
  13. Exactly. You interested in selling yours as I quite like them? Jay
  14. Having spent the day yesterday throwing 911's, boxsters and caymans around at the Porsche centre in Silverstone I am really thinking I want to preserve the handling of the Corrado the best I can and focus more on chassis dynamics this time round. One element of that is the wheels/tyres. So I am considering 16" wheels, but would like to see some "purposeful" cars on 16" wheels. What you got? Jay
  15. Once all the new bits are fitted and the car is at the height you will keep it etc... Get the toe set to parallel with around 1.5 degrees camber or a little closer to 2 degrees depending on preference and that will give you an excellent base line to start from. Jay
  16. I am about to swap mine for a slightly cleaner better one, the one I have would clean up fine with some effort, I just had the luxury of a mint one. Yours for £30 if you want it, it's dark burgundy pearl and only in Wilmslow so not far from you.
  17. I still need to get out and measured my currently unlowered wishbone angle. Am away on business at the moment though so not had chance. Another option given the small numbers is to machine from billet aluminium like the race car boys do.... Jay
  18. It must be because I am on the iPhone using tapatalk then as I have just checked again and there is definitely no PayPal details. Will check on my PC in a bit. Jay
  19. Both 3D scans from my mate Doug (tribetype40), extremely useful facility he has and damn clever too. Now people should be able to see why it's not as simple as just bolting on an extender....
  20. If I get chance tomorrow I will measure it. Mine is big standard at the moment and is on a nice flat garage floor. :)
