I have no doubt going by the rest of the car these will turn out mint. Love the RC pics, as mine will be a daily, come rain, shine or snow I will be getting the powder coated bright silver :) Jay

I am afraid to say I thought it would fail. Plus this doesn't take into account fatigue, temperature, corrosion etc.. but this is what development is all about :) Jay ---------- Post added at 04:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:14 PM ---------- Actually looking at it, you have not loading the "stem" either which is where I would expect the most stresses, between the stem and the flat plate. Cheers fella. I could write a list as long as my arm but in summary.... Clean the hell out of it, inside and out and gradually replace everything thats rusty, worn or shot. Paint where needed to freshen it up. New MK4 rear brakes Mildly lowered decent suspension (e.g Koni shocks and springs) Some nice lightweight classy 17's (e.g BBS RC's) Climate control install Clean it all again Nice Exhaust New Steering wheel Then once I get to that stage I will decide what to do... -
Just put that on my Christmas list :)

Tiny update. Fitted a new OEM G60 gearbox mount, just to make sure everything is solid, while I finalise the details of my poly mounts (front and rear). Also fitted a new engine cover (cheers Andy) as mine was cracked. Slowly but surely I am working my way through. Going to start focusing on the bodywork and cosmetics a bit over the next couple of weeks now the basic mechanicals are useable.. New Gearbox Mount... Playing with poly mounts... Getting better slowly... -
Where did you get this from mate? I am after one too :) As for the brakes, stick em on. Wheels are easy to change ;) Jay
-
They are on the top of the gearbox

Lovely attention to detail as always :) Think 17" RCs are going to find their way onto mine :) What tyres are you running? Jay
-
Has anyone got an LBJ that they can see if the ball part presses out of the plate cast part? or if its held in with a circlip or what? Jay
-
Couple of days delay on this as I am not 100% happy with the stiffness yet and just want to test a few things out on them before I get the lot for everyone. I have fitted a new solid OEM G60 gearbox mount and have ordered some power flex front cross member bushes just to rule out any movement from other sources. Will keep you all posted :) Jay

The forces will be lateral on it though (think pulling on the top/bottom of the wheel) so will try and rip the post out of the top. Jay

I have just had an idea on how to do this, but need to check a few things out first.... Won't say any more until I have done some sanity checks, but it might be quite a neat solution. If the pivot point of the LBJ remained in its existing position and the LBJ was just extended along its existing axis and the hub moved to match, could the movement of the hub carrier not be compensated for by adjustment of the two bolts between the hub carrier and the strut?

The stresses in that would be massive though...

Part numbers would be great. Have one to test with tonight all going well, cheers Andy, but may still need one so part numbers would be great ta. Jay

Great way of demonstrating why its not totally straight forward. Nice work as always and the stuff I wanted to always do but never had the time. Jay

Red Valver I think in Moston this morning. Jay

Anyone got a Magnex stainless VR6 exhaust for sale? Let me know what you have Cheers Jay
-
I am after a genuine Bosch lambda probe for a VR6. If someone has one let me know what part number it is. Would buy a new one, but want to try something out first. Cheers Jay
-
Has anyone got a set of Corrado VR6 Koni shocks and springs kicking about? If so let me know as I want a set. Cheers Jay
-
Hi Pete, I am happy to have an initial look for you if you want. I have removed and installed a number of climate control systems on corrados in my time and am only in Wilmslow. Let me know and I can give you some advice if you want. There are a number of ways of solving the issue... Jay

Ah ha, hence your earlier text ;)

Spotted - Dark green N reg VR with 16" BBS RC's outside Renold in bredbury Stockport. Jay

A correction based on 30mm would be a sensible start. That would be a massive help even to those running bigger drops. Lots of other things come into play the lower you go too.. Jay
