  1. Really fancy this conversion now remembering how easy the 24v was to drive. Not really had any time in the 12v yet, but soon will and I have a feeling I will miss the lazy 24v. Love you attention to detail Kev and the way you present it in your thread. With regard to the slow starting I remember when I was wiring up my 24v conversion and used the whole loom, the fuel pump was primed when you opened the drivers door, which threw me at first when I was wiring up the doors and the fuel pump kept running :) VW obviously designed this in so as soon as you turned the key it was ready to go as most people don't wait between ignition and start like we all probably do. Doubt its anything more than that, but worth bearing in mind for yours. Jay
  2. No mate it won't. They are sized to suit the existing mounts and I am pretty sure the VT ones are smaller. Jay ---------- Post added at 12:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:20 PM ---------- OK PRICES CONFIRMED. Please see first page for payment details. Cheers Jay
  3. 17 so far. Just needs to be 20+ then I can confirm exact costs and get payment. Jay
  4. Being as I owe you favours already, you can get a special deal fella ;)
  5. OK. Done some initial enquires and need to establish what people would commit to in terms of front mount and rear mount or both? I am hoping to get this under a total of £40/50 for both front and rear inserts. So could you please state front/rear/both and I will start a list. Cheers Jay
  6. Dropped off a pile of bits to the powder coaters this morning including the fan cowling, the lower front panel and cross member bits which need doing before i start using the car as they will be a pain to replace when i do. Should have them back on Friday, so have this week to progress with replacing the urgent bits in the engine bay, putting the doors back together and generally tidying up a bit. Got the first of my new bits to fit... Jay
  7. Welcome. There are quite a few people doing the same, me included, so keep the updates coming...
  8. Did any of the "jet" corrados come with red belts?
  9. Good start. You will need to offset the handbrake to get the centre console sitting right. Unfortunately the harder parts are to come...
  10. Got all the dimensions to make some enquiries on Monday. Will keep you all posted. Jay
  11. Anyone got a VR6 front cross member for sale? Ideally local to Wilmslow in Cheshire as I need it this week. Cheers Jay
  12. If I manage to get this done quick enough I could bring them to the rolling road day for those who are going. :)
  13. OK given the interest I will look into costs etc. Will certainly be able to do the front and rear ones with appropriate shore hardness poly. The gearbox one is best just OEM or replaced with a solid G60 type one. I need one before the end of the month so I will not be messing about! Jay
  14. On my previous Rado I made my own polyurethane inserts for the VR6 front engine mount. They were simply replacements for the horrible soft "waffle" rubber OEM ones. They absolutely transformed the engine movement without any noticeable increase in cabin noise/vibration, so I am planning on doing the same in my new VR. Thing is the uprated mounts you can buy seem ridiculously expensive for what they are and I was thinking about getting a batch of simple replacement inserts made for the standard VR mount, so it should be a very cheap alternative. Would anyone be interested, or should I just get one made for myself again? The previous one is still installed and working perfectly in the car under Vicks ownership some 7 years later :) Jay UPDATE 15/11/11 OK I NOW HAVE PRICES! Complete set front and rear will be £54 delivered. This will be a complete polyurethane bush set for both the front mount and rear off side mount including stainless steel hardware to fit them. Those who just want the front one it will be £29 delivered. In order for me not to have to fork out hundreds of pounds on the off chance people want these I need to take payment first in order to get the batch made. So if you could please paypal the £54 to me [email protected] as a gift I will get things moving asap. Currently all taken now, but if you want to be on a reserve list let me know.... 1. 24v RenshawBoth (PAID) 2. coullstar Both (PAID) 3. EnthusiastownedBoth (PAID) 4. 3corsameal Both (PAID) 5. 17. Anyone know a good dent master person. Would be excellent to have one at the rolling road day as its facinating to watch. Remember one coming to the national day a few years back and I for one have a couple of panels i would like fettling. :)

  19. Yeah I was assuming there would be a North West and North East split. Jay
