  1. She's a peach mate! but id rip out that stereo and the digital clock as they look a bit pants mate!
  2. Hi, The box that you have is easy to adapt mate - i had mine adapted to fit as it had the wrong hangers on- just get you local exhaust fitter/ garage to weld an easily fabricated bit on - they could even cut and well the one off your exsisting box- shouldnt cost more than 10 sheets :D .
  3. Im sure if you can afford to buy it you can afford to break it once in a while- Id tear the ass out if it!
  4. Hi, I really dont think he was trying dood- he has 400bhp under hi bonnet- Not really alot would keep up with that if he gave the loud pedal a boot full!!!
  5. The idea of the rallye is good but they shouldve got some one else to build them like ze Germans or the Japs! My sister in law has a white 16v xsi P Reg thats rusting everywhere and the dash is made out of lego and rattles Like a bitch! And it just feel like a cheap pair of underpants! :( Cheap motoring though. Its Friday WOO HOO!

    Induction Kit

Do you really think they dont make a difference?- have you ever had one? - i have- The throtle response is 10 times better and the car wants to pull much more at higher revs + ive never seen an orange one before! There usually either blue, green or red + do they not look better that a big Shoe box size lump of black plastic ? And if you put a car on the rollers before and after you will defianately see an improvement. 8) Yes I used to have one on my old MK2 digifant 8V. Had it on for a month, after which time it was black with oil residue and alternator brush dust. Got fed up with the noise aswell and reverted back to the stock airbox. Orange, green, pink, makes no difference, the point I was trying to make is imo they are much uglier than a nice, neat factory air box. Do you think the exposed inner wing covered in wax and leaves and sh#t is neater than an airbox then? On a dyno I'd be surprised if you see more than a few hp with a 57i. You might get a couple more with a 'proper' induction kit such as turn2's or BMC's. You're also shortening the inlet tract when fitting a 57i which reduces torque. Like I say, VW didn't design the airbox and inlet tracts the length they did for the fun of it. This is, as ever, just my opinion. If you like induction kits, fair enough, that's your choice. Kev At the end of the day it's what your happy with! To be honest i find my induction kit does kinda draw alot of attetion as it's bleedn loud and where the filth is concerned is not such a good thing! Perhaps clean that inner wing though hey- should take about five minutes! And also why it that over the years that so many mags have tested the induction kits and seen anything from 3 bhp increase to 9bhp. Its the panel filters that give 0.5 bhp more

    IS THERE HOPE?

HI, These guys are right, there not cheap to run but anything approaching 10 years old is going to need some work on weather it's a corrado or something else, but some corrado bits are just a "bit" exspensive. If i was you i would go for a 16v instead of a G60 or Vr6- there not particulary fast but it would be cheaper to run than it's two bigger brothers. And trust me the Corrado isnt the most exspensive car to run - I have a 1984 Vw Cabriolet that costs more thatn a third world country to run! :?
  9. Can of petrol and match? The front end looks like it's been in a very nasty accident. :(
  10. Thanks mate i'll give that ago Don't suppose anyone has got an interior for a Mk1 Golf Cab for sale that doesnt look like the Tasmanian devil has attacked it do they? - just bought a Cab last night and the seats are ripped...??????
  11. Are you talking about the Zimmerman Discs that are croos drilled that they sell? If so there really good- i reccomend them- preety good with pagid fast road pads.
  12. Ive used them for 5 years on 7 different Vw's ive had and their preety good but always check the part they have given you if you know what ever it is is meant to look like as they have a tendancy to give you the wrong part! - Ask for a rear light cluster and you'll probably get a rear quarter panel foe a Mercedes E180!!! But there preety good though...
  13. Hi, Ive got a G60 and im trying to eliminate a rattle somewhere on the engine. I beleive it to be the water pump or alternator so i want to run the car with the alternator/auxillary belt off. This belt also drives the supercharger and i need to know before i bother to take it off weather or not the car will run with out the superscharger spininig with the belt off?

    G60 vs VR6

Hi, Not trying to wind anyone up but.......... Ive had both and prefer the G60 over the VR6 But only if you have sorted out the G60 a little bit first- ie. chip, pulley, exhaust, de- cat, induction kit. The engine is not as heavy as the Vr6 so the car handles better and if you do the mods that ive listed then it will be just as quick and the power will come in alot lower + the money you would save over the Vr6 will allow you to do these mods! And you wont have the ridiculous fuel bill of the Vr6. (the G60 still isnt good though) The Vr6 is also not very tuneable and the engine wont last long with any srerious mods to it ( trust me i know this  ) You can supercharge them but the belts slip and the fuel consumption is similar to that of a formula one car! though not as quick- you might as well just start stuffing 50 notes in the tank! + that sort of power on a two wheel drive car is not always useable apart from in a staright line + it cost around £4k to do. Get the G60 my Boy oh and they are rarer to unless were talking campaign Or storm VR6 :D
  15. Hi, I wouldnt buy a clifford again if my life depended on it- ive had three of them on two cars- 2 faulty ones that had to be replaced- had so many problems with them you would not beleive some times leaving me completely stranded. They are absoloutley useless-A freind of mine also has a Japanese importing car business and his cars before they went out had them fitted and there were many complaints that came back from his customers. He now fits Cobra alarms as standard which he never has a problem with- Cliffords are sophisticated i know, but they are very unreliable You are just paying for a name - dont bother( im not bitter honest!). A mechanic freind of mine also agrees they are useless to! Dont bother again mate youve been lucky in the past- go for a cobra or toad or something that wont lock you out of your car all the time and refuse to let the car start! :(
  16. Top Gear only supplies custom made exhaust and alloy wheels and tires so most likely was different company you used....
  17. I had a back box done by them and the front box deleted and had a straight section of pipe put in by the St. Albans branch - Work just round the corner from them so very handy. The bak box was fitted perfectly but the front section was blowing alot so i had to take it back and they welded it instead of using clamps- did a pretty good job- i have a pit in my gararge so was able to have a good look at it and it its pucker- all neat and tidy- so i would recomend them. :D
  18. Ouch that looks Nassty! Glad your ok mate which is the most important thing. :) You never know it mght polish out with a bit of T- Cut! No only kidding mate sorry to see it like that....

    Flywheel?

Cheers guys for clearing that up- Have the ridgeway ones been balanced as well as lightened though?
  20. Hi, It should be talked upto 20 nm incase you were wondering.

    Flywheel?

Hi, I exspect this question is on the forum already answered some where (probably in the bleedin obvious section) but... Im thinking of getting a lightened flywheel from ridgeway racing. I know it will make the revs spin up quicker but does it actually make the car quicker? + anyone already got one? :?:
  22. Hi, Just rang my local dealer- ordered a set for £58 + vat- pick them up tomorrow! Wooohoo! 8) There special order though but apparently there are some left- ive ordered the platinum ones.
  23. hI, I tinted the lights on a Jetta i used to have about a year ago and got pulled by rozzers for my indicators flashin red. I tinted mine with that folia tec stuff and was so difficut to get off. Just thought you lot should know know! + it wont gt through an MOT- ARSE!
  24. Hi, I getting a little worried about my car making a funny rattling noise at certain Rpm's. It does it just after 2500rpm and a bit more further up but isnt a constant rattle. Ive had the car a while and it's only just started doing it- had the charger rebuilt when i got the car about 9 months ago and put about 10k on it. Ive changed the knock sensor as the cable insulation was broken, replace the cam belt and tensioner its not a noise coming from the tappets as im familiar with the noise they make and its not pinking either. I dont drive the car gently infact it gets a spanking most days (the car that is- i have a girl freind) but i always wait until it's cold. Can anyone shelp or has had this problem?
  25. Hi, The Gap on the top mounts is normal dont worry, there should be a gap of couple of cm. You can tell when the top mounts are gone as when you go over a bump you get a sort of clattering noise. Its easy to change the front struts as well- as long as you have a reasonable tool kit with a strong ratchet set. You will need a big lever bar though to take off the two retaining bolts that hold the shock onto the hub carrier. Should take you about 1 hour each side. You can get spring compressors from preety much any motorfactor like Halfords for about £20. The rear is a different story and takes alot longer! Hope this helps!
