  1. Guildford- Red 2.0 16v yesterday at around 12pm, driving towards Halfords/Homebase etc.
  2. The VR6 is the one to go for, and if you have £4k, you should be able to find a very good one. The MK3 is no comparison at all. Out of the box the Corrado is in a completely different league, especially in terms of handling and, of course, looks.
  3. Congratulations! Octavia vRS 8) Best value fast/practical car money can buy IMHO. I am also slightly biased  Budget?
  4. I had this exact same problem on my last VR and it turned out to be the blue/white (or was it grey? ) cable that was unplugged. Just plugged it in and it worked perfectly after that.
  5. Probably around 15bhp. You'd see a bit more if you got it gas flowed.
  6. 'kin 'ell! :cuckoo:  :notworthy:
  7. Yep- the VR6 was no. 98 IIRC,but they used a pic of a nugget G60
  8. Jake, that's gutting! At least the damage isn't too bad though ;) Fecking cats!
  9. Will have to check this out- sounds good 8) They did a Top 100 Cool Cars booklet a few years ago and the C came in at no. 18 8)
  10. Yeh, just swap the head over.
  11. You can drain it from the bottom rad hose and always fill up via the top rad hose. Leave the engine running with the expansion cap off until up to temp (so the stat opens). Massage the pipes :norty: to get rid of airlocks.
  12. Sounds like fun, Jon. Glad you're enjoying yourself :)
  13. Car flew through it's MOT today- just needed a couple of bulbs 8) Always a relief!
  14. Why don't you pop it over to DG Autotech? Don't know anyone on here near Ciren with VAGCOM I'm afraid :(
  15. Spotted Ian (GlosterOx) in Stroud tonight at around 5pm- gave you a wave mate, but you were in a world of your own! Was dropping the car off for it's MOT with Rich :)

    Weitec opinions

I've got a Weitec kit- not coilovers, but the ride quality and handling are superb. Much better than Koni kits I've had in the past. Reckon the coilovers would be excellent and they're a fantastic price at the mo.
  17. PTFE is just 3 in 1 or similar. Halfords or most hardware stores sell it.
  18. Looks stunning mate! Good work! Still think I'd miss my spoiler action though
  19. Isv is metal and cylindrical in shape. It's on the right of the head (as you look at the engine). It has a couple of air hoses and an electrical plug attached. It's worth taking it off, filling with carb cleaner and leaving to soak. Then a quick spray of PTFE lube (3 in 1 or similar). Refit. Really easy.
  20. Yup :) Use some detailing spray as a 'final touch' when drying.
  21. Wash Clay Quick rinse Paint cleaner e.g. Megs step 1 (wouldn't use T-cut) AG Super Resin Polish Sealant Good wax (Collinite, Dodo Juice etc) Make sure you use the two bucket method, wash mitts + waffle-weave towel for drying instead of a chamois.
  22. I would double check all the air hoses/vac lines around the airbox as my first port of call. Also check the air hoses that connect to the ISV + the ISV itself.
  23. Glad it was sorted so easily 8) Yep, the sticker has made a marked improvement on both our cars...
