  1. Cat heat shield often comes loose and makes that kind of noise. Have a close look if you can get underneath- it's worth taking off and won't affect anything if you do.
  2. I had a decat + front silencer removed on my last VR- sounded nice, not too loud at all (but loud enough 8) ). Used to spit flames on the odd occasion too
  3. Nearly there! Well done Tom :) Really liking the wheels too 8)
  4. That looks great, mate! Glad you're pleased with it :) TBH, it was just taking up room in the garage, so I'm pleased it's gone to a good home :)
  5. Afraid not- it was on my last Rado. When I went to VW they looked up the original Corrado part and EKTA said it was obsolete, and had been replaced by the MKV item. HTH!
  6. Kris, it's the rubber bung that the cable passes through into the bulkhead. Mine was totally split and in generally bad condition when I changed my cable. Only cost a couple of quid.
  7. It's also worth ordering the bulkhead grommet. The Corrado one is obsolete but has been superceeded by the MKV one which fits perfectly.
  8. Saw 2 yesterday in The Mumbles, Swansea. One was a purple 16v on Westwood alloys and it was parked near the Baptist church. The other was grey on Sebrings. Had tinted tails and the reg was very similar to Henny's old car- only had a quick glance as I was driving past, so can't be sure.
  9. They look good, Fay. Good to get rid of the orange! :)
  10. Fitted a fantasticly sparkly new DG Autotech sticker to each car. Took both for a test drive after fitting, and the difference is incredible! The Corrado is really smooth and much more torquey at low revs, whereas the vRS revs much more freely without losing any grunt. Reckon both have gained at least 15 BHP. Thoroughly recommended 8)
  11. Wow, fantastic progress Susan! Have you set yourself a time limit for completion?
  12. 'OMG! It's like a new car!' One of the mechanics at my local VW specialist the other day :) Also, my wife overheard one of the guys landscaping our garden saying to one of his work mates 'That car is stunning!' Female British Gas engineer serviced our fire + boiler the other day and said 'Your Corrado is mint' - turns out her boyfriend is restoring an old Beemer at the mo 8)
  13. Nice find 8) Does it have the rear hanger bracket though? These are often missing with 2nd hand ones.
  14. You need to take the lower half of the airbox out, then tap the snorkel out with a hammer. However, as David says, there's little point as you've already drilled the box.
  15. Makes quite a difference. Just use some pliers if you haven't got the adjuster ;)
  16. Your local Longlife/Powerflow place would do it for around £40, and it would be tailored to your car.
  17. Nailsworth. Last night after 7pm, blackberry VR6, totally slammed on some nice BBS-ish alloys. You were coming down from the Forest Green road to the mini-roundabout, where you proceeded to nail it  I was in the vRS opposite you at the roundabout. NIce looking car.
  18. Me neither! Love driving my vRS. Power delivery is superb, sounds great too- turbo whistle, DV sneeze, rumble from the exhaust and wub-wub from the BMC. Great combination 8)
  19. I would say that's a touch high for motorway cruising. My 16v usually sits at around 100 C at a constant 80mph. Never gets above 110 C, even on a really hot day stuck in traffic. It reached 116 C after a few laps of ragging it at Castle Combe the other week.
  20. Jake, put a cold air feed to the airbox- remove the snorkel first.
  21. Ah, nice one, Bill! Love R32s 8) . Remember, rules are there to be broken... how can you not modify it?!
