Trev F, have you got email or can you change your profile so I can PM you details? Cheers Andy

White C's seem to be more difficult to sell- they tend to hang around for a bit and are often a bit cheaper. Same with autos. By the way, my black VR6 will be up for sale in a couple of weeks for around £3K...

Nightmare :( Hope it all gets sorted OK.

That's sweeeet 8)

Nice one, Jim. Looks like a good 'un :) Bit more manly than a Polo, too
-
Stroeve make it- think it's well over £100. It's also in the engine bay, so you'll probably actually lose power. As the others have said, drop in a K & N panel filter, drill the wingside of the airbox and/or put in a cold air feed. http://www.greenairfilters.com sell all sorts of universal feeds/ducting etc.
-
They have a very good reputation with the Skoda guys. Apparently give good gains (around 15bhp for a full turbo back with sports cat for a 1.8T) and they're very well priced too. Will probably get one eventually for my vRS.
-
Nice one! Sounds like you got yourself a good deal :) Must be one of the first 2.016v's too- my first one was a J-reg as well. Induction kit is a no-no on the valvers- think Stroeve is the only one available and it's in the engine bay, so not really any benefit. Go for a panel filter with a cold air feed to the airbox- gives a bit of a power gain, sounds nice, quite cheap and easy DIY  Have fun!

Jim, as Kev pointed out, think they're defo a woman's car :? Saw a black one today (driven by a woman) and it looked quite nice. However, think they're pricey for what they are and I seem to remember they did very badly in the latest Top Gear Survey. If you want a car of that sort of size, why not try an Ibiza Cupra 2.0 16v (or even and 8v)- nice in black?. Or a Golf GTI. Or a Civic VTI. Or an Accord Type-V if you want something slightly bigger. Just go and look at/drive as many different cars as you can. Something you wouldn't normally go for might really surprise you.

Got 52 in my old G60 once. 20 mile journey driving like a granny. 49 from my first valver and 37 from my current VR on a drive down to Eastbourne.

Know what you're saying- there really isn't much between cars of around 180bhp-230bhp.I'm not expecting it to beat the VR 'with ease'. I would totally expect a chipped vRS to be slightly faster though. Have spoken to a guy on Briskoda who has basically made the transition I will be making. He said in standard form the VR was defo the quicker car. However after having turbo back exhaust, CAI and Jabba remap on the vRS, the vRS was slightly faster. More BHP per tonne, and more torque. After remaps people regularly get quarter mile times of 14-15 secs which is faster than the standard VR's 15+.

As Jim says it's the 1.8T Sports model. 180bhp and 170lb/ft, 0-60mph in 7.9. Highly tuneable. £500 will give you 220-230 bhp and make it faster than a standard VR

Octavia vRS estate. Been doing some research, and some dealers are offering them for well under £13K brand new
-
LarryDuff, there won't be any C's left in the Canterbury area soon :( What are you replacing it with?
-
Well, Octavia vRS in the next couple of months. Like Jim, would love an S4, but can't see that ever happening.
-
Nikki, going to get an Octavia vRS estate. Really feel like it's time to get a new/nearly new car. Plus it's more practical. Would like to keep the C as a weekend toy, but can't afford it. Think £3K is realistic. It's in good condition, but has covered 208k miles, although the engine has only covered 70k.
-
Nikki, the car is cursed! Seriously though, that is terrible :( Some idiots smashed 4 or 5 windscreens in my street the other night- stopped just short of my car! Phew! Are those the rear lights I did?8) Took me ages
-
Guess if there are a lot of cars at that sort of price, prospective buyers will have to pay it. VR's really seem to be on the up at the mo' whereas valvers in particular are dropping in value. Will be selling mine in the next couple of weeks for around £3k.
-
G60Dub and LarryDuff, talking of Broad Oak- have you guys seen the black VR that is always parked in the road around the corner from Merc? Nearly always there when I drive past- anyone on here?
-
Just saw a dark (black or blue- hard to tell in the rain) C driving through Faversham on the A2. Exchanged waves. Think it was an M reg.
-
Alan, my chip was an american one- can't remember the make- Jabba had never seen one before though!
-
That's far and away the nicest CRX I've seen. You've put a lot of effort into it and it's paid off big time! Nice one.
-
Accords are great. Type-V is superb- a Type-R for less money with more torque. A mate of mine has a 1.8, and it's a beautiful car. OK, it's a little annonymous but it's so well put together, nice leather, climate etc. Honda reliability.
