Chris, glad you were heavy footed when it came to braking too   Thanks for all the Photoshopping, Jim! :D 8)

I would regularly get 40mpg in the valver on motorway journeys, 25-30 around town. Best I got was 53mpg :D Usually around 25mpg around town in the VR, and 28-35mpg on longer trips. Overall, my 16v was much more economic. Used to fill up every 2 weeks, now it's every week  Mind you, I haven't had it long, so it's still being 'driven' virtually every journey

Alex, it's really easy to remove and replace- if I can do it, anyone can! Just undo the necessary jubilee clips, unplug the sensor, and pull the hoses of carefully. Reverse the process to fit the new part :D - took 5-10 mins. Like Nick said, it's a breather pipe and the disc shaped thing is a valve. Apparently can cause idling probs if damaged, although didn't seem to affect mine. HTH

Invitation to the (going to be) greatest Corrado database
CazzaVR replied to M4RTiN C-TDI's topic in General Car Chat
Sounds cool 8) , however, the world's greatest Corrado website already exists  :D  -
Found the invoice: part no:3A0129615 part description: hose complete with valve price: £63.71 (inc VAT) HTH :D

Bad! Must have a split/broken seal somewhere :? Replaced mine a couple of weeks ago. Just in case you're gonna get a new one, you can't buy it on it's own. It comes with the large tube (on the left of the pic) that fits between the air box and throttle body, and the smaller connecting hoses. It took ages for VW to work this out, as there aren't any pics of it on their crappy computers! They ordered several wrong parts before finally working it out  . Only takes about 5 mins remove/fit. Was around £60 from memory. HTH

Cheers Rodders! :D Thanks for the pic Jim, great job- just right, looks sweet 8) . Just gotta get those Eibachs on now! :D
-
Should've kept that quiet! That said, as long as you don't drive like Chris, you wouldn't have to fill up that often  Got 35 mpg there and back today, and the journey back wasn't exactly slow...
-
Cheers Jim, look forward to seeing the pics 8) You know you've got to get a VR now don't you? :D 8)
-
I'll second that! :D Jim and Chris (2CC) - good to see you guys again, and nice to meet everyone else- Ant, Majik, Chris, Rams etc. Cool pics Jim 8) , you'll have to have a drive of mine as well next time

AmD told me that the 2.9 V6 rarely idles perfectly, and as long as the rev counter isn't twitching it's perfectly OK :D I can feel mine 'skipping a beat' occasionally through my seat, but the needle is completely still at around 650 rpm, so it's fine! :D
-
Halfords stuff is fine :D Make sure you have some nail varnish remover hndy in case the tint goes wrong :? :)
-
Aaron, he he, small world indeed! :D Seeya around 8) :D

Parody, I have a Blackberry metallic VR6- not sure if I've seen you. Passed one that sounds like yours in Wincheap 2-3 weeks ago, and we gave each other's cars a good look as we passed. Yeh, seen the black VR at parcelforce, red VR parks around the corner from me in Beverly road, seen my old black 16v, and often see a dark blue de-badged car- who never wave back or anything! :( I'll look out for you :D Sorry to hijack this thread!
-
Mate, as you've already done the tint, just laquer them. Do you remember mine when I picked up the wheels? Nice and shiny :D It took about 5 coats to get it like that  You can actually spray it on quite thickly. I started off with thin coats, but it wasn't doing much, so just thickened them up and hey presto! HTH

Hey, nice to see someone else from Canterbury! :D What C have you got? Probably seen you around :D
-
Go for it! At least have a test drive :D G60's are great
-
Probably the crappy metal striking pin in the handle has snapped off :( Really bad design! New handle I'm afraid. You could always try delocking with Passat handles- much cheaper and more security concious :D
-
Guy, Yes mate- all it was was the air mass meter in the air intake fitted incorrectly! Can't believe that two other garages missed this, and cost me quite a lot of money (new lamda sensor, leads etc). Having said that, I'm really enjoying the car now- feels like a totally different machine! :D

Just passed 133K. Was 132 when I bought it a couple of months ago.
-
Cheers Kev :D Yeh, will do. Wouldn't have known about that :?
-
Looks OK :) In this months Top Gear, in the article about the new Golf they go through all the new VDubs for the next couple of years and say "there will be a new coupe in the spirit of the old Corrado"....... But of course, we've heard this all before zzzzzzzzzzz. Could this be it?
-
Two months- loving it now it's fixed  8) My third C in 2 years, with a Civic VTI inbetween :D Should think I'll keep the VR for a while, as it's the car I always wanted.
-
All the best mate, hope you sell quickly :D Having seen it, it's a very tidy car- shouldn't think you'll have too many problems selling :D Looked at any C's yet?

Cheers Rodders, I'll try again tomorrow!
