  1. Jim, yep it just taps out. The VR one is much shorter & wider than the ones on the 4cyl models. Dave, sounds like you've removed the correct one 8) Sounds so much better without it. I've actually just removed my BMC as the bracket is knackered, so I'm back to the stock box inc snorkel. It's soooooo much quieter! It's nice for a change, but will defo put the BMC back on when I have a new bracket sorted. Just can't beat the sound 8)
  2. Dubpower or the Beru ones available from http://www.vwspares.co.uk -both are very good value!
  3. No worries mate- hope you can get it sorted OK!
  4. Looks like the throttle position sensor- bit different to mine as yours is the earlier version. Worth giving the connector plugs a good clean with some electrical contact cleaner. If that doesn't work, carefully remove the sensor and give it a good clean with carb cleaner. Also worth undoing the big rubber hose where it meets the throttle body and giving the throttle a damn good clean. Wedge the butterfly open with a screwdriver handle or similar and use liberal quantities of carb cleaner with mico fibre cloth and a toothbrush to get it clean. Clean around the edges of the butterfly and also the pivot. Very straightforward. If this doesn't work, try and get it scanned with VAGCOMM and it should tell you if the sensor is cream crackered or not.
  5. Can you take a pic of the plugs? Sounds like it could be the MAF, ISV, coilpack/leads or an airleak.
  6. Will get some pics asap. Location is Thornbury, just off J14 M5.
  7. 2.0 16v late shell in good condition. Flash Red. Ready to go! It's in good nick, with no major rust at all. Underside is very good. 8. For performance, best thing you can do is get a KR cam fitted from a 1.816v. Will also respond well to having the head gasflowed.
  9. Mark, I'll pass on the badge thanks, but will take the ABS light + intake pipework (depending on price). Do you have the two metal clips for the ABS light? Cheers!
  10. Looks very 8) What's the spec?
  11. I'll take the rear Corrado badge if it's in very good condition. Any pics?

    Haters!!!

My old Headteacher (left in the summer- thank the lord!), used to do the same. Used to laugh at me on the rare occasion the conversation in the staffroom turned to cars. Used to be in a 'how sad' condescending kind of way. She used to always say 'A car is just to get you from A to B' etc. She got a speeding ticket in her daughter's 1.6 Mini One, saying she couldn't believe how fast it was. I told her she'd be in Jail if she ever drove mine, as it's a 2.9- she looked a little shocked  Usually just get compliments though. That said, have had the odd chav cutting me up, tail-gating etc etc. Even had someone in chavmobile drive up beside me in traffic and deliberately flick a lighted fag onto my bonnet after I'd slaugtered him in a traffic light grand prix  Also remember a really stroppy Integra driver (who had been driving like a loon, tailgating everything out of the way, undertaking etc) refusing to move over and throwing rubbish out of his window at me- he was so frustrated that he couldn't get away at all. Both of those were ages ago though.
  13. Sounds like a vac leak to me- I would double check all the hoses and ISV.
  14. You generally do get what you pay for- oem VW is always best TBH. That said, some aftermarket stuff is good quality. Go for a LUK clutch. Don't use Euro- go to carparts4less instead. Exactly the same company, but a fair bit cheaper ;)
  15. For VR6 front springs. Bought these a while back. Brand new in box. £20 delivered.
  16. Brand new and unused. Need to free up some funds. Just want to recoup what I paid- £33 delivered.
