  1. Welcome! :) I've had 10 Corrados now, and all have been 'reliable' bar two: G60 and 2.016v. The only one that's ever broken down on me was the G60. These two weren't terrible, but it did seem to be one thing after another in the end. All the others have been great on the whole. You just need to keep on top of things and be pre-emptive. I've used all mine as dailies with very little trouble. Choose carefully and look at as many as possible. If you're buying from on here, it's prudent to search the previous owner's posts ;)
  2. Aye, it's gonna be interesting. My initial reaction was 'Oh no!' but then I thought about Marvel and as you say, Pixar... there's potential for some awesomeness! Wonder what will happen with Indy as well- there's bound to be more now.
  3. Sorry to see you're selling! I would try to add a lot more detail re: what's been done/when etc. Also be honest about the niggles. Add details about the bodywork and interior. Pictures will REALLY help ;) This will save you having to write an essay for every enquiry.
  4. Interested to know what you all think about Disney's latest purchase! They've already started pre-production on Star Wars VII, with the other two following every couple of years. There has been an outline for the final trilogy all along- let's hope they do it justice! Personally, I've got mixed thoughts. Disney seem to have done a great job at Marvel- they've basically let them get on with it. I hope they do something similar with Star Wars. It's a good way of getting old George out of the way- don't think I could face another Lucas script! I hope they get some really good writers/directors on board with this. Maybe Spielberg will finally get a chance as he's been desperate to direct a Star Wars flick, although I seem to remember a bit of bad blood between Dreamworks and Disney... Aparently, they don't want to make it all 'Disney-like', they want it to continue in a similar vein and really corner the teenage boy market- looks like they've pretty much got it wrapped up- Marvel + Star Wars! What can we expect apart from the new trilogy? There's surely got to be Boba Fett movie at some stage (this has already been talked about... a lot), live action TV series (apparently similar in tone to the Galactica re-imagining), more cartoons, theme parks... There's so much scope, so long as the first movie doesn't tank.
  5. Nope, not OEM. They are pretty good for most parts, but I would stay genuine or go for poly/Vibratechnics for the mounts. As you say, a lot of torque goes through there- you get what you pay for!
  6. Jake, I'll Keep them for you- let me know when you want to collect them. Nigel, yep they'll fit. PM coming your way...
  7. http://www.vwspares.co.uk http://www.carparts4less.co.uk (Eurocarparts but much cheaper!) Tierod69 (seller on Ebay) For tuning, AwesomeGTI (see above) and Venom are both very good.
  8. Fronts will. I can split if you want them?
  9. I think the divide is there if you leave it there to be honest. It's easy to be part of both. I like the organisation that a club gives at shows/meets and also the magazine, car stickers etc. The Forum is a great, erm forum for all things Corrado. It's a relaxed, helpful and friendly place to chat all things Corrado. They actually compliment each other... if you let them. Kev, the club has changed so much since those days. I remember the reaction Andi got from the old guard. It was ridiculous. However, pretty much all of those people have moved on now, and as I said earlier, the CCGB is pretty much the same crowd as on here. The club has worked so hard to improve things- with good success IMHO. It's not easy to run a club of any sort of magnitude, but the CCGB is now a very well run club which offers a lot to it's members for very little money. Again, as I said earlier- last year's National Day was a brilliant day out from start to finish. We had a convoy of over 10 cars heading down there- excellent fun. Then the event was superb and was rounded off with another convoy home. We had our photo on Brooklands free of charge as the club paid (a substantial amount!) for the privilage. You need a club to pull this sort of event off to be honest. It was a huge success! 8)

  15. I'm puzzled at this mate! I think it may have been the case to a certain degree around 10 years ago, but it really isn't like that anymore. Myself, Jim and Yandards are all club commitee members + mods on here. The vast majority of CCGB members are actually regular users on here- it's pretty much the same crowd! I think if you'd have come along to the last CCGB National Day, you'd have changed your mind ;) As Lucasz says, you get a very good deal for a tenner 8)
  16. Gearbox is ready with new bearings etc. Getting it refitted tomorrow + a couple of other small jobs. Mart has been extremely helpful with the whole thing- cheers matey!
  17. Don't think we're doing too badly at all. Just a quieter time of year as others have said. After talking to Baz re: clubstands etc, I do think it's worth exploring the option of a non CCGB reserve list for shows, although as Jim says, this does happen sometimes anyway. It's more open/friendly and will give a bigger turnout. However, we've had a couple of people on the stand at Bristol VF in the past who've said they'll join on the day, then said they're not going to. This takes the Michael somewhat IMHO. I'd rather we had a system where non-members aren't under any obligation to join, although they can be encouraged ;) It will need to be discussed carefully...
  18. As a noob, your first few posts have to be approved by a mod. nothing to worry about. Very interested in one of these...
  19. Is it possible to do them with the middle temp dial blue/red (as in the 1st post) + the outer two dials green?
  20. Jake, the derelict ship with the dead engineer from Alien is an entirely different ship to the ones in Prometheus. The one in Alien is thousands of years old and is crashed on LV426 which is a different planet. Fox originally wanted a proper prequel, but as the script developed, they realised they were going in a slightly different direction that explains the bigger picture. It still ties in obviously, but it's not intended to be a prequel proper. The sequel (called Paradise at the mo) should go some way to answering more of those questions, although may not tie in directly to the original series. There's also a link to Bladerunner 8) I was initially disappointed with Prometheus because I expected so much after those amazing trailers. I went and watched it again, and didn't have any preconceptions second time. I really appreciated it for what it is. Stunning film second time around!
  21. Meyle make one which is very good and around half the price. http://www.vwspares.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=2218 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-GOLF-MK3-CORRADO-VR6-T4-SHARAN-WATER-PUMP-C327-/220768631970?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3366d5fca2

Not had one myself, but CrazyDave has one on VRT and rates it very highly! It sounds good- not too loud, but more meaty than the standard system.
