  1. cheers guys i used the insuation tape for today but in the future will replace with proper stuff (probably when i put the bike carbs on) degreaser 1 - engine 0!! pics up in my buid thread tommorrow!
  2. ....im working on cleaning up my bay today and wondered if normal insulation tape can be used to clean up the wiring?? I ask this cos i was gonna buy some yesterday but noticed it said only use in temperature under 60c?? not sure if its just gonna melt into a gooey mess or not lol can someone tell me if it will be fine orif theres something else people use?
  3. de-wipered the boot, detailed it and ordered new coilovers...
  4. thanks chap, its getting there slowly but surely. Most new upgrades should be happening next month as i've had to pay for a holiday this month amongst other things so expect more pictures then!
  5. Right so i havent been making much progress with this project unti now, work work work and no corrado pay makes for a very slow project :brickwall: but...what i have been able to do is this new momo team steering wheel (the 280mm version - its TINY!) and boss and my big(er) brakes conversion. More lows on the way in spring (too flooded around here for serious lows) and also bike carbs (currently collecting all the necessary parts) some pics to show you what i've been upto: Before After and the brakes you can just about see behind the borbets, ill get some better ones of those when its stopped raining the important thing is you couldnt see brakes behind those wheels before the conversion hahah just used G60 brembo discs with Vr6 callipers and carriers....simples.
  6. "the low riders back in the day" i cant tell you how much that made me laugh...images of 90's america, gold teeth and afros haha that "ferrado" in pvw last month had no helper springs to get it even lower
  7. how did you go about the rear de wipering mod, looks so much neater and those rear lights look so much better! good to see progress being made!!
  8. why do my brakes work better when its cold outside??
  9. oh and is it me or at about 33 secs in does that white/cream one have a few dents in the side....ouch.
  10. +1  they sort of remind me of a TVR... is there anyway i can make my corrado sound at all like that??? mines so quiet and i want it a bit louder! I was reading an article in a car magazine that said that ferraris go into there own sound lab to make them sound as good as possible before they go on sale!
  11. damn those yanks know how to build show cars (air ride is for pussies though hahaha) looks awsome im aiming for a stance like that over the winter, getting there slowly but surely, got any pics of the interior??
  12. Black corrado, bonnet bra, slammed, some kind of dish rims seen it going in and out of ipswich in suffolk, gave you a flash I was in a white rado with same spec (minus the bonnet bra) looked like a nice piece of kit sounded good too!
  13. a little research showed to use brake fluid.
  14. just going back to yesterdays thread, whats the best way to lube the piston in the caliper?? I've cleaned it all up but now need to lube it and not sure whats best :confused4:
  15. is exactly what i did and now its working perfect again!!! SO FREAKING HAPPY!! i pushed the piston 3/4 of the way out using the hydraulic pressure then used some wet and dry to clean it all up, i must admit i used grease rather than brake fluid to lube it (not too much though) and then wound it back in using a g clamp (ghetto i know) and then took it for a test run and bobs your uncle is working alrite again! i think tommorrow i shall have a more detailed look at it but for now while its dark i think i did pretty dman good!
  16. if i pump the brake with the caliper off will that free up the piston then i can clean it up and grease it then put it back in?? just want to be sure i can put the piston back in when it comes out?
  17. right after getting off work i had a nose round, the piston is a bit rusty and is thus not allowing it too return after the brakes have been applied. I managed to unseize the brakes by opening a pair of pliers between the brak pads and pushing the piston back this way but the piston is unable to move on its own :censored: SO...... Can i take the piston out somehow and sand it so its not rusty anymore?? i need to make it more driveable before i replace the caliper as its my daily (but will hunt down a new caliper for the long term) anyone had any luck at sanding and polishing the piston in the caliper?? any help would be lovely!
  18. Right well got to work today and my driver side brake was soooo hot and it stank, so I'm wondering why? I think it might be stuck on, iv only just replaced the discs and pads and calipers which sucks a little bit, any ideas??
  19. Woops sorry about that, I'm on my crapberry and its hard to see everything, think that thread size is right so hopefully he can get it sorted now, thanks for the help
  20. Not really sure what his plan is, he just asked to ask you lot what the thread size is! He said its not 1.5mm as its finer than that he reckons its more like 1mm or .75mm??
  21. Right I have a friend who was changing his rear wheel bearing, cut a long story short he's buggered one of the caliper carrier bolts. For some reason he wants to know the thread size for such a bolt, its the m8 ones....any help would be greatly received, thanks and have a happy new year!
  22. no tape deck im afraid!!!! it would be nice to have radio aswell tbh so i just need whatever plugs into the back of the headunit but i have no idea what it is!!
  23. why not just save up some more money and get the new versions which are coming out soon they are so god damn hot and im sure they wont be that much more expensive lol
  24. yeah i know this, its a temporary fix until ive got my new coilovers, steering boss, bike carb conversion, bearings, spray job, and interior done.... headunit is waaaaay down the list lol cheers anyhow!
