a strip fitter - if you hadn't mentioned ford I would be asking for more details ;) lol I know what you mean bout trim screws, I should order a bag of them myself for spares really ok m8 will go have a look in a mo & let you know :)
-
hi m8 I found the below when looking for my loom instructions - thought you might want to get some for when you swap interior (door card clip things)
-
Tidy thanks Andi Ooo I like the acknowledgement under the user name :)
-
guys you might be better dropping Zak a PM as I know he is currently (or was as of 12th Oct) in Austria his post from 14th july was in reference to myself sending him an email on his personal email address I received my loom & will be fitting it this week I am unsure if he would want me giving out his email addy but I can drop him a mail on your behalf asking him to check here if you don't get a reply from him

instructions dug out but I didn't do any car work on sunday - the gf made me relax & play GTA5 all day :D should be able to scan today or tomorrow & hopefully fit it as well I should thanks Zak (KUR2Y) for making time in his busy schedule to construct the loom for me & it looks the usual excellent quality of workmanship :)

Headlights low beams not working correctly

glad you are getting lots of help m8, this forum is superb for that stalk replacement is easy. yup off with the steering wheel & then a screw or 2 & a connector or 2 & hey presto you're done worth keeping a relay or 2 in your glovebox too -
EDIT: Jim is it worthwhile putting the ryan instructions on the wiki to help people in future?
-
thanks Dox I will scan & post the KUR2Y fitting instructions once ive dug them out this weekend
-
good info i guess if SR_Neale is taking his interior out to swap it isn't too much extra to take the dash out as well so probably timely to do it then
-
certainly m8, just PM me your email address & i will send it over although my valver is an early model the guide was still fairly spot on. leather upgrade sounds nice! is it heated? i find the a good thing about 20 year old cars is that we can actually work on them ok. modern cars are a nightmare & can be diagnostic hell lol plus the grin factor when random strangers are lusting after them :D
-
the valver had a matrix bypass fitted when i brought it back so no it was purely cold air only having done mine i would say don't stress too much about tackling the job. make sure you are well prepared & have read a 'how to' guide a few times to familiarise yourself. i have a word doc with loads of pictures if you don't have a guide & i can send it you. it was originally done by Kris on here but the version on the wiki lost all of its images, i managed to find them & rebuild the guide. do you have a garage you can do it in? i found having a long bench where i could lay each part/s out as i removed helped a lot. also i used normal packaging labels to label each connector/wiring once unplugged & then envelopes to store each section screws & wrote a description on each accordingly i think the hardest parts of the whole job was 1 - the rear clips which hold the main air box to the blower motor feed as you cant see them, you cant get your head in to see them & you kind of have to lie on your back in the passenger footwell trying to find them by finger tip lol & 2 - getting the 2 nuts back on the bolts which actually hold the dash to the bulkhead - very tricky! oh & it is 100% worth spending the money on a hose clip tool with auto lock off as it would be seriously hard to get the clips back on the matrix pipes on the bulkhead without one i would offer to lend a hand when you tackle it if you weren't so far away m8 PS try to make sure you get a Valeo matrix ;)

sorry Kev i didn't have chance to take the pics for you however, i had seen the others posted which are good -
ha ha sorry Andi will do i have thought about changing my surname by deed poll ;) lol
-
ha ha ha the seats haven't had a look in & my rado's are dire need of a wash, bloomin filthy they are but i will start addressing them soon as i can the valver heat is ok it is nice & toasty out of the vents below the windscreen but still a little diluted feel to it out of the side & foot vents. definitely due to me not renewing the liner on the big flap in the heater box as it is that which shuts off / opens the hot air feed. however it gets the car warm enough & the screen clear so i am dammed if i am taking the dash back out any time soon. maybe i might do it next summer as having taken a dash out it is not that hard really, just time consuming
-
ok m8. i have to dig out the instructions from when i fitted my previous one but i will certainly take staged pics for you as i go :)
-
ok m8, for you i can do that :) lol which type of loom do you have? is it a ryan automotive one? if it is i believe they have OEM connectors so the light end is easy but from reading another users post about headlight issues the ryan looms require disabling the dim-dip, my KUR2Y loom doesn't need that did you get a set of fitting instructions? oh & what bulbs did you go with?
-
tidy! received my new uprated loom, 3 relay version, from KUR2Y for the valver (thanks Zak!!!!) just need to get some ring xenon max bulbs & fit it all this weekend :)

& grinning like a Cheshire cat when the VR comes on cam :D lol

glad i have seen this today. i have been a member on here for a long time now & it was 16 years ago that i first purchased my white valver lots of fun & learning since i joined this forum, with plenty of helpful information received & hopefully some of the same given lol a long over due donation has just been given as a thanks for Andi & Jim's continual hard work my apologies it is only a fiver but hopefully all helps (having 2 rado's & the gf's storm leaves a rather empty coffer's jar) transaction ref was 63T49572BJ9856615 via paypal
