  1. excellent. thanks rob & fendervg :) i thought they might attach from the rear side but must admit i hadn't given it a little pull first lol much appreciated oh & nice to know someone else has one of them - i wonder if anyone who likes to keep their rado 'as factory' would have any interest in them?
  2. Hi everyone i need to change the matrix in my early valver soon, hoping for a warm weekend at some point lol i have a good guide but my valver has the optional cassette tape storage thing in the centre console - same place the VDO gauges fit does anyone know how these are removed without damaging it? i have very rarely, if ever, seen another rado with one fitted thanks in advance :)
  3. ahh, no sorry my jubilance was cause you had found the l/h quarter i have a feeling you may need to order the complete section & use what you need. unless you can see the smaller section on there somewhere
  4. winner winner chicken dinner :D
  5. Haritage can supply anything listed on the classic parts site the link i posted you goes straight to the exterior section where the repair panels are held. im sure ive seen a rear arch section on there either find & give the part number to anna or im sure she will help you if you struggle FYI takes about 2-3 weeks for the part to arrive normally
  6. hello try here http://shop.volkswagen-classic-parts.de/vwcp/scirocco-corrado/corrado/body/exterior/ find your required body panel & then get in touch with VW Heritage. AnnaVR6 on here works for them so you can contact her by PM Heritage can take your order but save you £'s a plenty on the delivery as they will get it from classic parts Germany on your behalf & then ship it to you i used them for a sill repair section & whereas classic parts wanted 90 euro or something to deliver, the part was above heritage's free delivery amount & thus cost me no delivery
  7. ha ha ha that's kinda the response when the thread about them on ebay was posted lol
  8. its not ground to a halt, just that it is taking the person time to get right, i believe it is still progressing there were some for £400 on ebay ;) lol nice mileage by the way
  9. you have no idea how angry i was about it all when we drove off but hey ho i ended up with an unmolested lovely blackberry purchased from a guy who had loved & cherished it as he was a huge car fan (with a mint stratos in the garage)
  10. indeed Hasan, it was awful. i would warn anyone not to even consider them! you are right about others too, im sure there was a thread in the buyers section about such i forgot.... the VR i got in 2009 with a tad over 94K - it is now on around 164K the valver i had from 2000 to approx. 2007, cant recall milage, & then brought back in 2014 and ive done about 400 miles since
  11. yeah 250 was the minimum for homologation as you say. i wonder what they were like to drive
  12. oh no not an Alfa ;) that's a bigger can of worms than a rado surely lol
  13. Ha ha no m8 i think there are a few of us lol if money was no object then id need a multi storey car park but when it is limited oh my word i would be fickle in choosing i also think along the lines of that as long as you feel you got your moneys worth of enjoyment out of a car then that is the main thing & money doesn't come into the equation much - however, personally, i would never buy a car brand new as the depreciation they suffer is like throwing your £ notes in a fire plus i also find that those cars i really lust for i would need to be a millionaire & preferably my own race track to ever own them.... Pagani Zonda Konigsegg of some form Porsche 993 GT2 Porsche 356 Ferrari 288 GTO Ferrari F40 Ford Mustang GT500 Eleanor Ford RS200 Metro 6R4 Twin turbo 4WD rado for a sub 10 second 1/4 mile :D im off for a dream & a bathroom break ;) lol
  14. worse than a saleman - down right low down lying scum m8 fortunately it only cost me a wasted drive up there but i found the whole experience the worst ive ever had in terms of either buying or selling a car in synopsis.... booked to go see a storm he had he called to delay saying had double booked then he called again to cancel 2nd booking as he 'couldn't find the keys' 3 weeks of chasing & trying to find out what happening ended up with an excuse of 'oh i left them in the glove box of a car i sold & had to track them down' eventually manage to go see car, described as mint with everything working & a hefty price tag got there.... rather abrupt greeting & grumbles oil was already very warm as was the engine bay (clearly warmed up prior to my arrival & probably to disguise start up smoke) alarm fob did not work sunroof did not work wing mirror did not work paint work was pretty poor in many places the list went on he offered excuses but seemed more interested in doing something with another car than talking to me & my uncle about the car leather seats had been treated with some kind of silicone based stuff, very greasey & left residue on your hands started the car up & let it run for a minute or two after which he came over & stopped it & removed the keys & walked off it was at this point we 'thanked' him for wasting 3 weeks of my time, a wasted weekend & a waste of petrol & told him to go swing during the entire time he was obnoxious, rude & full of sh1t!! my personal feeling is that he/they whatever buy heaps of junk, tart them up & disguise any issue & then try to sell them for top dollar hopefully yours was a good one & managed to find a nice new home
  15. is that an 850 T5R Joe? but with aftermarket wheels? am i right they only made 250 of the R so as to enter it in BTCC? the estate version of the R was a monster & had awesome grey flat 6 spoke alloys
  16. Oh no!! not 'the corrado specialist TCS'!? :( that man is a down right liar & cheat!!! speaking from personal experience good luck finding your old car though
  17. Hmmm a tough question that Jamie - especially as im so bloody fickle that i like many cars but would likely never actually buy one those i would part with my cash for are very limited & most out of my range & £25K however, a very quick thinking & i would consider, in no particular order..... ploughing the lot into my VR - turbo, turbo, turbo! AP racing brakes, wheels, KW V3's, glass out pimp quality respray in blackberry, 4 wheel drive n3p's Storm turbo & then concours the VR Noble M12 gto BMW E30 M3 BMW 850 CSI Lancia Delta HF Integrale Porsche 911 circa 78 - 80 Porsche 930 Turbo Flatnose old skool Ford Mustang Fastback VW bay window or split screen panel van out of the above, if i had to choose just one it would possibly be a flip between the noble or the E30 M3....or id have such a headache trying to choose i would never be able to make a decision lol
  18. is the MG off already wayne!!?? did you sort the issues with it? i hope you are not going to have to take another loss to move it on :( & after you had nearly got the rado mostly sorted too
  19. i certainly do Phil :) they are on http://www.liquidleather.com/ fortunately they relocated to literally a few miles from my house so i was able to go in & chat with them but they are primarily online. the technician looked at my seats & said to go with the VW black for the dye be aware that they do sell kits but the amount of dye is very small, hence why i brought the 3 items as i stated due to not needing the couple of cloths & a nail brush in the kits ;) i haven't done my seats yet, i am using the steering wheel as a tester & practice first i can take a couple of pics of the steering wheel but they will be a during & after rather than a before, as i didn't take one before starting i can say that i wasn't expecting much dirt or grime to come off the steering wheel as it was in rather nice condition. how wrong i was! i had to refill fresh water twice as it was so mucky. lord knows how much dirt will come off the seats lol both the cleaner & conditioner go a very very long way with only a tiny amount. FYI i used an old tooth brush to apply the cleaner & then wet it a little & very gently agitated it, their guide says not to apply any pressure. I can say i was pleasantly surprised how well it foamed up my seats are in excellent condition but do have some small cracks on the side & lower bolsters on drivers side. however the seat & back base are both excellent. the technician advised to do all the front facing areas so as to get a complete colour match, rather than just the bolsters i have seen several examples of people using the glyptone route & the 'after' shots always look like the seats are virtually new. i was recommended glyptone a few years ago by Tim from 5th Gear when i gave him a short blast out in the VR :D
  20. I visited the glyptone / liquid leather people last week. got myself 250ml of the GT11, GT12 & the scuffmaster dye in VW black. think is was around £35 for all 3 the technician i spoke to there said that should be enough to do all the front surfaces of both front seats ive started refurb'ing a leather steering wheel from here & the dirt the cleaner removed was quite a surprise! the conditioner has been left to soak for a few days & the leather feels extremely soft now going to dye it this wkend hopefully PhilUK - yes i belive there are early & late heated seat dash switches but i think it is just the physical shape
  21. ha ha sorry EJ - stealer as in a VW dealer ;) lol
  22. i cant recall the details of when i changed my expansion tank, i do know i got it from VW though. ive a feeling it is possible to use the golf mk4 tank, im pretty sure they are the same. have you tried a stealer yet m8?
