  1. well its worth alot more than £1000 if you hope onto auto trader and such like sites they will give you rough idea of a value. One lady owner, such low milleage and its been garaged its whole life i would say it will be worth a good bit! :D If you have a price in mind there is a for sale section in this forumn Good luck
  2. It will depend on which bulb, well they are L.E.D s if you know which one is out then it would be easier to get the L.E.D first, then take to the task of removing the clocks. Not sure where you could buy them prob VW ? I know the top 3 green L.E.D can be a bit temperamental a light knock above them on the dash usually works a treat. To remove the clocks take the lower dash panal below steering coloum off and fuse box cover off. That means you can get to remove the wires and the vacuum line from behind the clocks. Usually involves going under the steering cloumn in a weird sort of army crawl  Lower your steering wheel to make it a bit more out of the way and remove the plastic surround just before the clocks, 4 screws. Then you have that out of the way there are two screws one on each top corner of the clocks holding it in place. Then gently pull forward, and rotate the clocks so there facing down and wiggle it through the gap, it does have to come out at a slight slant of an angle. It can be a bit of test on the patience so have a cup of tea at hand. Two screws on either side on the pinnical of the clocks and the front cover comes off , then you can get to your L.E.Ds
  3. Our new lot of snow there is gonnna a be a whole lot more ! 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfPICT2317.JPG[/attachment:3qz6g08f] passat climatronic wiring diags.pdfPICT2315.JPG[/attachment:3qz6g08f] The throttle was sticking so badly i wasnt sure what it was so i done some investigating. The cable started to fray a bit and it was ctaching on the casing of the cable. climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfPICT2319.JPG[/attachment:3qz6g08f] So i trimmed the sharp pieces of and greased it up as a temporary measure .What a difference ! its so much more responsive  I cant wait to get a new one on . The prob was mainly when changing gear the car would rev up between gear changes as the throttle was not backing off quickly enough a bit annoying when you are trying to keep a Type R from overtaking :norty: PICT2305.JPG[/attachment:3qz6g08f] I also made a panel to stop the water sitting ontop of the battery
  4. em i used 400 grit emery paper, there was a good bit of rust on the bajo bolt so a heavier grit wont do any harm :D
  5. Liking your workshop space! I see you have your priorities all worked out. Music system 8)
  6. ah thats pants, did you take the fuel pipe of and rub down the bajo bolt with emery paper to take the rust of to make sure your washers are getting a proper seal? Well atleast you know its not your washers now
  7. I had probs opening my bonnet but i figured it might have been due to the temperature being so cold  so i hot boxed the engine bay for 30 mins then i could easily pop the bonnte open  I was worried i might snap the cable
  8. would it be worth getting a compression on the cylinders test then go form there?
  9. Liking the snow pics car looks great :D I do like the look of the a S3 :camp:
  10. That gun looks like exactly the one my friends bought at his work , he got them for £85 each. They have been so handy i wish i had bought one at the time. They last a long time on the battery which is suprising for £85 it was a steal. They are great for jobs at home! They have taken some abuse and both of the guns are still working fine :D
  11. I would say is i dont have the halfords car cover and yeah mine kept blowing off, so if you have a a spare ratchet then run it from the front drivers side towing eye across the bonnet under the passenger side mirror, over the rear spoiler to the rear towing eye on the bumper, it saves the hastle of trying to keep tying it down with bungies, weights or other contrations  I hope this helps people were there car is in an open location it doesent take much for the wind to start picking at it.
  12. With it all back in situe, one of the studs did snap on me so i had to drill out the stud and replace with a shiny bolt, passat climatronic wiring diags.pdfPICT2213.JPG[/attachment:t3ov36km] My trusty jack :norty: climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfPICT2205.JPG[/attachment:t3ov36km] The accumulator got a good thew coats of anti stone chip, keep it in tip top condition! Also some rust got attacked at the rear end 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfPICT2212.JPG[/attachment:t3ov36km] So next plans are to get the tank straps off blast them at work along with the rear bumper bar, its a heavy grit blaster works alot better on removing rust than a sand blaster, only thing is i am thinking every single one of those bolts are going to shear! during the build PICT2074.JPG[/attachment:t3ov36km]
  13. So i got the accumulator changed to a new one, i have noticed the difference well other than one looked like a bag of rust climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfPICT2207.JPG[/attachment:1ssb6bu0] then in with the new one also replaced the pipe from the accumulator to the fuel filter 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfPICT2206.JPG[/attachment:1ssb6bu0] The brackets got the rust buffed off then zinga'd and anti stone chipped put back on with new washers and spring washers as i did not want to over tighten them due to the rubber bushings they sit on. PICT2208.JPG[/attachment:1ssb6bu0]
  14. Looking pretty good, i take it you will be painting the block since your doing everything else! :D
  15. glad to see a rado on the track up on the hill! If your there again there is an old red G60 lying round at the go karting center or skidpan on black porsche wheels, all flat but yeah you werent alone! 8)
  16. hmm, if your thinking of changing the pipe with the banjo bolt fitting, i dont think it will be cheap, i have ordered the bit of pipe from the fuel filter to the accumulator, well just ordered one that will cost me £37 its about the same length, other than tighten up the banjo bolt a bit more ? Not sure, i presume you have the washers in the right place. I could imagine it will be really annoying you!
  17. really liking the pictures, espically the one with the cool lighting! :D
  18. Nice to see you getting stuck in! the wheels make a big difference! :D
  19. looks good in the black, i noticed your door pins that the door catch latches onto, looks like the plastic is not in the best condition i changer mine recently what a difference on the door shutting! :D well worth the thew quid
  20. Haha girls bike pfff nothing girly about the price of that bike  Oh yeah my car has passed its M.O.T also solved the problem of starting the car when its warm by changing all of the injectors to new ones ! I have a new accumulator to put on it once i can get a bit of pipe from the fuel filter to the accumulator sourced found something cool on piston heads http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2206063.htm
  21. I niggled about with the handbrake console cover on mine as they are a pain, make sure you have the srew in the behind the ash tray that helps alot as it holds it all together gives it alot more strength, also your plastic piece that clips on first on the 4 plastic nuts on the side of the carpet make sure there tight, also when you decide to test it make sure you dont pull the lower plastic piece up to much :nono: or you are back to sqaure one and have to restrip it to get the lugs to line back up to the plastic nuts! that should help :D
  22. so which one is the conditioner the Gtechniq G3 or the G4? hehe  , its looking sweet. Good luck with the dash!
  23. yeah its a job for a garage, sometimes they can use a tool that molds to the locking wheel nut shape. But from what i have heard its always a nightmare job. so good luck 8)
  24. when i got a sparky to install an immobiliser ,he made sure it cut out the fuel pump. Also the wiring behind the fuse box was a big mess from a previous owner removing an old alarm ... so he was top notch and tidied it all up for me 8)
