I bought the kit from GSF at inters - sachs/boge advantage shocks and whatever the springs were in the kit. They're not too bad at the mo. Far better than what was on there originally! The rears were totally shot. One when pushed in didn't come back out and the other had to be hammered in to start it moving. Was a bit bouncy the first couple of days but has settled down a hell of a lot. Can't complain for £200 ish for the kit (paid 300 in total for kit, plus all bumpstops, 2 rear axle bushes and new rear brake bias valve). Seems a little bit harsher than the standard springs but I didn't cut down the bumpstops (couldn't work out how to do it to keep the spring covers and keep them seated right)

I've got an early G60 and on the main light switch the LED only comes on with side lights - it goes out when main/dipped selected. No other indication on the dash that dipped have been selected. Blue LED for main. It is not a fault. If you have the standard steering wheel on when you pull off the plastic centre horn button you see a metal part. There should be a cable connected to it with a female spade connector this might have come off. Also for the clicking sound when rotating the wheel, try a little bit of grease on the base of the steering wheel. This will involve taking it off though. A small spot of WD40 might work without removing the wheel. If it does, definately needs a spot of grease. 24mm socket IIRC to remove the steering wheel

Saw a green C not sure what type at the Boultham Road / Dixon road lights in Lincoln yesterday

The passat locking mechanism looks nearly identical to the one you are taking off apart from the child proof lock bit at the bottom. I dremmelled mine off - just incase. Its only in distances, lengths etc that the corrado mechs are just different enough not to fit and work with a passat handle.

Oz Superleggera's Only 15" though as I didn't want to spoil the ride too much

Hi folks, fitted my new wheels this weekend. As well as fitting late grill with black badge, de-locking the door handles and a new momo steering wheel. Only the suspension to do now. I've already got the kit, just no jack/axle stands or a decent place to do it up here. Most of my tools are still down south.

Here is a photo of the 'new' passat handle being fitted. You can see the white plastic cap on the locking arm that you have to adjust, so that the door will actually open when you use the handle!.

Black grill badges are available from GPC. I know they do the later grill but not sure about the early one. Cost just over £20 for the grill and around a fiver for the badge. If you have a late spec G60 or 16V corrado all the holes for the grill should be there. If it is a VR6 then not sure as it has a different slam panel anyway. As for the bonnet if you've got a VR6 the old style bonnet will not fit. The VR6 engine was one of the reasons the bonnet shape was changed in the first place - it sits a lot higher. I think the later 16v can have the earlier bonnet fitted but don't quote me on that. Rear badges are just stuck on with double sided tape

In the top picture you can see the broken L shaped arm plus the white plastic cap you have to adjust on your new passat handle. The middle photo shows the hook the have to wedge open. The bottom photo shows an intact corrado handle with the white adjustable cap. The two lever arms are for the key and total closure part of the door locking. Incidentally the new passat handle will look like the 'broken' handle in so much as it will not have the lever arms for the total closure/central locking

Right folks, delocked my car yesterday. Easy. You need a Passat handle and matching door locking mechanism for each side. You also need to take the inner door trim off. The Corrado handles have a longer arm the opens/ strikes the lock which snaps. They also have a cable that connects to the central locking which you just disconnect, hence having to take off the inner door trim. This was for the key operated locking/total closure. The connect is a balck plug about a hand span up from the bottom of the door and about 2hand spans in from the opening end of the door. First off remove the screw from the handle - phillips screw next to the locking mech. Slide the handle forward and it will come free. Then disconnect cable if not already done. Next remove the two brass hex head screws in the locking mech and pull gently on the mech. You will find a plastic cover for the upper door pull, slide this off but do not let it fall. Then unhook the inner door pull from the locking mech. Its a spring loaded hook so screwdriver needed to wedge it open a bit. Replacing is the same as removal except you do not have the central locking cable. You will need to adjust the white plastic cap on the door handle arm to get it to work. Its on a screw thread. I had the window down at this point so I could open the door. Took approx 3 attempts to get it spot on but for future ref wind out the white plastic cap nearly all the way. Locks as normal with the alarm fob. Great. I would recommend getting brand new handles though rather than second hand ones like mine. I'll replace them for the respray plus get them colour coded!

Check out this page for aerials. The GTI flex 270 083 is a straight swap for the standard VW one http://www.my-blaupunkt.com/acatalog/ww ... ls_20.html

Apparently you can use the front handle too but again you need the locking mechanism too. Just ordered the set from Volks-apart as my passenger handle gave up the ghost at the weekend. £45 for both sides - handles and mechs. They even asked if it was for a corrado - obviously its getting a more comman mod!

Mines got a decat pipe and sailed through the emissions test!

I bought a set of 15" as I don't want to compromise the normal ride too much. Complete with tyres just under £500. I was looking at the wolfrace Octane too but Superleggra were always my first choice but too expensive - until now! Yes they do BBS too.
-
Hi folks, as it says above Halfords are doing 20% of wheels - Oz, Team Dynamics, Wolfrace etc. Basically all the ones they sell. Just ordered a set of Oz Superleggura, saved over £120. Cheapest place I've seen them
-
Indeed, the store at Inters hads loads of stuff. I bought 2 trim strips for £31.50 each. They also had one of those G60 keys you see advertised on ebay for loads - cost £12!
-
He said it was a bit of a bitch to fit though. Lots of self tapping screws - which means extra holes! I was looking at them on the all smiles stand and wasn't all that impressed with them as they were just flat bits of carbon fibre. No real provision to fit them to any original mounting points

I checked with VAG while I was there as to the sizes of blades for a Lupo and they said one is 19" and the other is 21". Is this true? If it is then the Polo ones will fit. If not then Bosch obviously do the aero blade style, we just have to find out which car/size is correct.
-
Does anyone know if the CCGB (or the Forum for that matter) has a discount set up with GSF? I asked today and they said that the club has to join and then everyone in the club gets a Privilege card. Weird system but what does it cost etc etc etc? Maybe Steve Mac might be able to answer this one.
-
Just added to the sticky that VAG have stopped selling blades and arms seperately. Also GSF sell replacement aero blade kits (driver and passenger together) for £20. They are listed for the new polo.
-
Update! VAG have stopped selling the blades separately!! And changed the part numbers again! You can only get blades with the wiper arms £20 + VAT. I tried today. I have ordered two drivers arms and haven't bothered with the passenger side. Not sure on the new numbers but will let you know when they arrive. Found out today while I was there that GSF SELL A BOSCH REPLACEMENT AEROBLADE SET FOR £20 - DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS SIDE TOGETHER. They have it listed for the new Polo but they look the same and I checked with VAG as to the sizes and they are correct. 19" and 21" blades. Obviously VAG cottoned on to the fact that everybody is doing the mod and can use it to rake in some more cash. Looks like the way to do it now is get the set from GSF and 2 drivers blades/arms from VAG. Slight price increase to approx £60+VAT before any discount though.

£48 for a pre face lift (bought one of those too!) and about £55 for a post face lift. The post face lift has a surround which the indicator actually fits in to. This brings it flush with the front of the bumper rather than set back like in the pre face lift. The indicators are the same in both pre and post face lift.

Check out these 2 threads: http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... =tyre+size http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... =tyre+size Not sure on how common 16" wheels are but compared with 15" or 17" definately less so. Therefore tyre price might be a bit more, so take that into consideration. As for Borbet Cs - they don't make them anymore boo hoo

supersprint are very good too - if you don't want it to be too noisy
