All sorted - It goes on the bracket on the floor, not the seat itself  Sorry to the OP for nicking the thread.

Where does the little rubber one go ??

Not even funny. (G60death.) - Insurance quote in.

Gutted for you chap. I often think about how bad it would be if you completely rennovated a Corrado, acid dipped body, new paint job etc. etc. and then some pillock drives straight into you. :( -
One time cut out and "running on" when I turn it off??

Could it be the fuel relay maybe? -
:salute: [salutes fellow classic green!]

That looks nice and tidy! You'll love the first drive home.

Cool - That looks evil ! You would probably move over pretty quickly if that came up behind you on the motorway!! :D

 Cheers for the comments guys. Good point about the solitudes bannawhip. Its a shame because I like the speedlines better too!

VR6 Over Revs when I give it beans - please help
Conker replied to miles_davey's topic in Engine Bay
 I exclusively use Shell opti-heinz beans - the power delivery is definitely smoother!!! -
Me! Ahem, well, probably me - my Rado is dark green, so it depends how "blue" it was  That morning I passed a nice looking rado in a light green/blue colour on that stretch of road at about 8.30am - was that you? You see, if Vr's weren't so fast we would have more time to judge colours better: Its red, no its black, no its green, sh#t its gone!!! yep that was me, wasnt to sure off the colour just saw this fast moving familiar shape coming towards me! Theres more corrados around our neck of the woods than i realised and a lot seem to be of greenish shade. no doubt will spot you another time! Nice one. Parp Parp !

Hi, Its about time I sorted out a thread for my Corrado. Background: I've owned a Mk2 Golf GTI 16v for the last 3 years and loved it so much I didn't think I would get itchy feet for a very long time. Then on the way home from work a few months ago there was a blue VR6 Corrado behind me and I couldn't take my eyes off of it. I made the decision to get one there and then. The Hunt For VR6: Over the next few months I went to look at 3 VR6's, all of which were far worse than the seller described. I don't mind mechanical problems, but I was trying to find an example with very, very little rust. The worst one was a 150 mile drive to look at a "minter with zero rust", to then immediately spot rotten arches as I walked up his drive :brickwall: I finally found this one: Its a VR6 Storm with 130k miles or so. It was a bit rough on the test drive, but the seller had only driven a few hundred miles in it in the last two years according to the MOTs, plus it had been SORN'd, but the bodywork was the best I had seen, not "mint", but good enough. Within a week of owning it the front brakes completely seized (lack of use I guess), so I've replaced everything just to be on the safe side (brand new calipers direct from VW for £50 each, awesome!), and thats all I've done so far. My job list is absolutely huge, and will easily take a year or two to get through. First on the list is new wheels and tyres as the 17's on there now look good but are evil to drive on anything other than completely smooth roads. I'm on the lookout for some Solitudes or Speedlines (OEM FTW!). Second job on the list is a new alarm system and door locks as the current alarm works well but only has one fob, and the one key I've got for it only opens the boot, LOL! Overall, I absolutely love the car. Its a good bit quicker than the Mk2, and feels a bit more special - it seems like only petrolheads actually know what the Corrado is! I'll keep this thread updated with progress!! Cheers, Dave

I did this one: http://www.thruxtonracing.co.uk/experie ... lotus.html ( but in a Mazda RX8 touring car, they don't do that one anymore) Much much better than the supercar one's. For the same price we got full time race driver tuition and did over 21 laps in a car that you could explore the limits of. By the end of the session we we're easily overtaking ferraris and Astons being driven by people trying to make the most out of just a few laps. Plus we were there for hours whereas the supercar guys were there for 30 mins or so. Happy days!

Less likely, but it could be warped discs. Mine we're warped a while back and vibration was only noticeable at certain speeds, but not under braking at all. Perhaps its like that when theres only a tiny bit of warping.

Any chance you could upload a high-res image of that and post a linky - thats one for my desktop!

LOL... Golf's are called "Rabbits" in the states. Perhaps VW are giving them away free with every purchase now??!

F'kin hell you don't hang about!!! :salute:

I had similar issues in My Mk2 Golf and it turned out to be arcing on one of the ignition leads. New leads cured it. On a VR6 it might also be the lambda sensor or that the ECU needs resetting maybe?? (Just suggestions - I'm still new to VR engines!)

I've had two HG's go on different cars. In neither case did any mayo become visible in either the oil or the coolant. The only reason I say that is its not always that easy to diagnose HG failure with the well-known signs. The only issue I had was excessive coolant loss (amusingly, in the end, my Golf GTI could boil dry an entire coolant system in 20 minutes flat - it looked like a steam train going down the road!!) I recommend getting a compressionn test to sit alongside the sniffer test results you've already got. Then you will know for sure. PS... When I've got a head off the car, I would see if the valve stem seals/guides etc. need replacing. Good luck! Dave

You could always fold it in half.
-
Yep, the Golf GTI lads specifically buy Corrado seats to get an even lower seating position.

Some outside-the-box alternatives... You could do some of the milder/cheaper engine mods (zorst, cams, intake, that kind of thing) to boost power a little, and then spend a chunk of money on weight reduction: carbon bonnet, lighter interior, race alloy wheels etc. etc. Or... You could spend the money on putting the power on the road better i.e. very good suspension, brakes, top-spec tyres etc. Or... How about the obvious - an R32's 24v? (Has that already been suggested?). I've only had my VR6 a few weeks, and I can't see why you need much more power - its awesome as standard. There hasn't been a single situation yet where I've thought "I wish this was a bit faster". Overtaking is a breeze when required, and an open road is a lot of fun. With that much more power I would be risking my licence just to enjoy the upper limits of the car. Maybe your into track days or something?? :confused4:

what is a reasonable price to advertise my corrado for?
Conker replied to okjc250's topic in General Car Chat
Completely depends on engine rebuild history (has it had the head rebuilt, or new piston rings, that kind of thing) and the condition of the bodywork. -
Getting through the MOT unscathed is always cause for celebration!!! You needed a few repairs, so you technically lose a few beer tokens.
