An oil and coolant flush once killed my headgasket (Golf Mk2). Admittedly it was probably nearing the end of its life, but even so, the harsh chemicals definitely finished it off prematurely. I would never use one again unless I had serious clogging problems (e.g. tappet issues). In my opinion its just as good and far safer to do two decent oil changes (including filter), about a week or two apart, using cheap oil for the first change. I did this on my wifes Z3 and the oil from the second change has stayed a lovely golden colour for ages.

Bunny and the Bull, 7/10 Worth a watch, very weird, quite funny. 60% a chick flick, but not really.

True. The closest colour I can think of is Atlas Grey.

Cheers for the comments guys. Just checked, and the badges are definitely the wrong way round: The rear has seen some spraypaint over the years - maybe the bodyshop put them back on that way  As for the solitudes, they are a mettalic grey (a porsche shade apparently). I don't like them personally - I like dark wheels only on lighter coloured cars as a rule, unless your going for a mega-evil stance. As soon as I can justify the £200, I'm getting them refurbed back to silver. Absolutely! I probably get one job a month done, but add three more to the list. :brickwall: Main things required are... 1) New alarm (the current one has only got one dodgy fob left) 2) Silver wheels 3) New suspension, wishbones and bushes etc. 4) Rear brakes are getting tired ... At least the engine is currently peachy (touch wood)!

A few new pics taken at the Castle Coombe track day. Quite pleased with how the paintwork buffed up.

The Haunting in Connecticut 6/10

I really like them. Uber practical too. :notworthy: I always wondered how effective 250bhp is at pulling such a big car? I guess what I mean is presumably its pretty bloody quick, so I was always surprised to read that it was "only" a 250bhp motor - I thought it would need more.

Ever thrown a rod? how about the hole engine!

This CAN happen to a G60 if you drill the airbox... -
Totally agree. That "wedding driver" episode was absolutely awful television, and thoroughly p!ssed me off for most of the evening. It would be a perfect show if they didn't script everything so much. The jokes are so formulated. Mainly, I think its the blatant transparent lying all the time that spoils it... "Here I am at the north pole, completely alone, I might die..... Except for the mahoosive support crew behind me". For me, it would be more entertaining if they brought things like that into the program, rather than constantly fannying around with camera angles to exclude them from view.

I fell out with them too, but after trying lots of alternatives, Super Resin Polish is still the best "handjob" polish IMO. Plus I love their glass polish too, but I wouldn't buy anything else. My current setup, excluding all the little bits and bobs: Shampoo - Duragloss http://www.seriousperformance.co.uk/Pro ... w_779.html Wax/Sealant - Finish Kare http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/sealants/ ... d_589.html Quick Wax - Megs NXT Spray Wax (Halfords) Tyres - Megs Endurance Gel (Halfords)

I haven't got the key for one of my doors i.e. I can only unlock it from the inside or with central locking. Will the barrel still come out after I've taken the pin and circlip off, or will the "sticking out tumblers" keep it lodged in? :confused4: Cheers.

Did you press the tubo boost button? Hoff says: "Only press that button in direst need you bumder"

Best one for me so far... Spending a bit extra and getting top-spec Michellin Exaltos. Aquaplaning is a thing of the past. 8)

Would be a bit of a pain, but a cheap way would be three big brita filters. I read that one pass through a brita removes particulates by a third (obviously depends on your tap water quality etc.)
-
I defnitely get a couple of extra MPG on V-Power too. The last time I did a proper full tank test, the overall cost per mile was exactley the same between super and normal unleaded.

Think someone is scoping out my car to nick it....

Just to try and make you feel better... They know you saw them, so I doubt they will be back. If you was a crim, would you go back, knowing that you are on "defcon 1" alert status, when there are countless thousands of other cars to choose from? Maybe if it was a £50k+ car then it would be worth the risk for them. I would be cr@pping myself too, but try and forget all about it, otherwise the feckers have already won. Hopefully the scummers will fall into a rusty threshing machine sometime soon. -
At Castle Coombe VAG day last year I bought a 5 gallon bottle of AG's express wax, which is 95% the same as Aqua Wax, for about £18 IIRC. Very good stuff, although I can't get it to give a really deep shine on its own - it needs a wax afterwards to get the best results, so I use it as more of a drying aid.
-
Agreed. I always use this shiz, then wax. +1 Buy the big litre bottle in halfords 3 for 2 offer. Bargain.

????? That post makes my car knowledge feel very feeble and inadequate. :( :salute:

Aerospace 303 protectant. Very high quality product, although not that widely availble.

Amazing work. Refelctions are superb afterwards. Shame about the alloys though, each to their own and all that, but to my eyes there are some much better choices out there for an M5.
