eugopnosaj replied to rodmax's topic in Cars for Breaking
Hi Rod, Sorry i didnt come back to your text message the other day been really busy at work. Regarding the bumpers have you got any photos? -
Sorry, Im not interested in the steering wheel I'm curious about the gear shift knob?
-
This question has been asked hundreds of times before and I guess at the end of the day it is ultimately down to what I want to do. I took my 16v off the road as the HG went and I inadvertently bought a VR6 as I'd always wanted one and I found one at a good price. Anyway I got the head skimmed, replaced the HG on my Valver and got her running again. Unfortunately she has been sat on my dads driveway since last October. Now although dad isn't in a desperate need for his driveway it would be nice to give it back to him. I have looked at the cars selling on the forum and the ones selling on eBay and they're either not selling or selling for peanuts. I know i'll never get back anything close to what I originally paid for and the money spent on the valver but i dont want her selling cheap. What should I do? Sell it and be happy with anything I get and risk the chance of her being sold to someone only wanting to break her for parts and making much more money or do I break her for parts myself. Its a bit of a dilemma because she runs fine, the mileage is high, about 175k for the block and about 87k for the head (reconditioned from another car) but we know these engines are bulletproof and run into high mileage. Cambelt was changed not so long ago and like i said the HG was replaced when the head was skimmed. Stainless steel Supersprint exhaust, Koni TAs, full black late interior, fully working sunroof and all other electrics, plus other modifications. A few areas of rust have started to appear but nothing structural and the passengers side paintwork needs a bit of work. Ideally I want around £1k for her, or a bit more with the BBS' So what do you guys think? Photos can be seen in the album following the link below, including photos of different sets of wheels. http://s147.photobucket.com/albums/r295/eugopnosaj/Corrado/?albumview=slideshow

Can you PM me over the part number too please!
-
I've been insured with Markerstudy twice, once on my valver through Adrian Flux and now with my VR through Greenlight and I'm happy to report I''ve not had any issues, granted I've not been in an accident but maybe you just got bad luck this time around
-
Depends what you might have lol, are you about this evening?
-
Haha good stuff, different car this time now, they came from my Valver which now has a late black interior and is sat on the old mans drive now lol. I'm retrimming some of the leather in my VR from black to red and could do with some temporary/back up seats, is that all the rado stuff you've got left?

Hey mate, I'm interested in the doors and the last wing, have you got any pictures you can send me? Also have they got any damage/rust/scratches etc -
Right, looks like thats where i'll start, thanks floppyman!
-
So since those values (bar the Idle) are typically good it doesn't really shed any light on the jerk
-
No, still jerky, right so values: ISV Adaptation: 1.078 Idle Adapted Value: 0.875 Part Throttle Adapted: 1.055 Full Throttle Adapted: 0.906 What does this tell you? They seem to have changed quite a bit from before, im not getting any engine fault codes either, the whole car seems to shake though and sometimes runs bad for a while till she warms up, i say bad, to the point where it has stalled once or twice, i still think i might have an ISV issue....
-
We went through this before with mine, or at least i reset my ECU because the values weren't correct, I will run it later when i get back from the gym but they were fine the last time you saw them back in November (I had the issue back then too) but perhaps they've got worse:
-
I have the exact same issue, playing with the damper didnt really solve it either, i have to really really ease of the throttle so gently for there not to be any jerking. I've tested the MAF and not got any issues/codes with it so i dont think its that. Will be watching this thread closely to see if you work out the problem!
-
Hey Dave, all is well. Got myself a VR6 now, although the Valver is still alive after having another head gasket replacement. I'm not sure whether to sell her or not yet as she's currently not being used and has sat on my dad's drive since last October...The VR6 does have a few issues so come the summer might swap the cars over. How about you? Hope everything is well!
-
Haha, it worked though!

Or this one, page 36 Corrado94.pdf -
Since today was one of the first days this year where it has been fairly warm and the sun has lasted all day I thought I would take the chance to give my VR a clean and T-Cut and take some photos, she could do with a good going over with cutting compound and spending a few hours doing it but this will have to do for now! Unfortunately cleaning it shows all the imperfections but oh well! Anyway photos after the jump...

Hmm, thats a bit too north for me and Castle Donington is even further
