  1. This guy built a Lamborghini Countach in his garage...from scratch...took his 17 years though! Need I say more? Just look at the pictures... http://www.kiengineering.com/The_Bull.php
  2. I think a lot of the standalone carputer OS' are linux based, i think this would probably be something similar as it's easier to write for linux...
  3. Ok so i was looking at possibly building a car pc when i came across this http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/11/forum-find-custom-mr2-with-the-ultimate-car-puter/. This guy has converted the entire MR2 gauge cluster, switches, dials, knobs, you name it, to a series of three touch screen displays. It controls and reads temps, fuel, lights, windows, mirrors, speed, navigation, music, climate control...and so on...
  4. Found this on the net, similar to a polo mk2 estate/wagon, kinda cool not sure how well it would handle though... http://karakullake.blogspot.com/2010/03/vw-corrado-magnum-kombi-shooting-brake.html
  5. Bit different to the typical BBS' that you find, im rolling on a set of 5 spoke RZ's, tempted to make them black....what do you think? 100417_181257.jpg[/attachment:19w77pv1]
  6. Black one not sure what flavour, J9 *** Tkmaxx carpark, Bletchley this morning. I had just finished work but I wasnt in mine :( was in my brothers corsa...
  7. How easy are they to get out/put back in? Mine need doing and im worried about breaking them... :(
  8. Nope the 9a inlet is 42mm whereas the KR is 50mm. ... it actually goes by engine number and not code, KR engines changed to 42mm inlets around 1989 on a certain KR build number on all VW's ,but I've yet to see a Corrado on anything but a 42mm (from the factory) even the earliest 1.8's had 42mm inlets. There's more to it than the inlet runner diameter too, the whole inlet system had minor revisions including the size of the chamber after the throttle body. Unless you run a raised rev limiter, flowed head and aftermarket cams there's no point in the 50mm inlet anyway, it will sap torque from the low and mid range and will provide little or no top end gain. Sorry, my mistake :notworthy: David, you're like a VW guru  ....maybe i wont bother with the 50mm inlet then...makes my life a bit easier
  9. Nope the 9a inlet is 42mm whereas the KR is 50mm. 16v 1.8 is insurance group 15, 16v 2.0 group 17, 8v 2.0 group 16, G60 group 17 and VR group 18 http://www.parkers.co.uk/insurance/groups/by-model.aspx?model=1016
  10. Not sure if anyone has seen this before but this guy cut up a MK2 and made it into a shorty: http://jalopnik.com/5542788/this-is-not-a-photoshop
  11. its a vacuum tube for the spoiler afaik (someone correct me) and there is also one that plugs into the back of the dials, im going to assume that since neither work properly its the same tube...so if you can source where it comes from then maybe you can fix it... HOWEVER i could be totally wrong
  12. not on my 2 mile trip to work i dont, usually around 23mpg. however when i went up to derby last week i got around 250 miles on 1/2 tank of fuel...
  13. Didnt think about that, thanks for letting me know! :salute: Didnt realise the injectors were different thicknesses...or am i missing something and being stupid here
  14. Got new seals me thinks already....or maybe not...cant remember..I'm replacing the 42mm on my 9a with the 50mm from the kr and one of the sleeves is cracked :( Will phone stealers tomorrow. Thanks! J
  15. Does anyone know if the plastic injector sleeve are still available for the 16v engine? Also are they one whole piece (the larger seat outside the mani through to the inside) or is it 2 pieces that slot together...
  16. Did think about steam cleaning, worried about damaging something though. Having never steam cleaned anything in my life, what do I need? Is it like a pressure washer so you can attach detergents? Cheers for the tips guys, might have a go at a front seat this evening Be really gentle with the headlining, I used the same process for my seats for my headlining and it starting to come away from the cardboard! I think the foam cleaner from Tescos that 8vMatt suggested might be a better option. Luckily i had a spare which does need cleaning but ive been too afraid to do it again incase it comes apart again! :( Steam cleaning is really gentle (nothing like a pressure washer), hence it being used for suits etc. It is a really good way of cleaning fabrics and i'd imagine would work well on the seats. You can hire steam cleaners, don't ask me where from though
  17. When i did an interior swap in mine i gave it an over haul as it was sat for ages and wasnt in a brilliant condition. I used a small amount of disinfectant and a carpet cleaner solution mixed in warm water, it was then a case of the ol' elbow grease with a soft cloth. I then used just plain clean warm water to remove the disinfectant etc from the seats and used a VAX carpet cleaner to get rid of any excess water. Then just leave it to dry. It came up really well and looks brand-new-ish  You'll be surprised how dirty the water gets, make sure you replace the water though! Hope that helps NB: test the disinfectant on a small patch first to check that it doesnt bleach/ruin the material, i used a really mild one, i think it was called ACE or something?
  18. Refitted colour coded handles, and some plastics bought from TPS, handle's don't rattle anymore! :)
  19. Well i've got a spare 65amp that came from my donor rado and the one i'm currently using is starting to make a 'whirring' noise. It still works but i was thinking about putting the other one on and reconditioning/painting/tarting up the 'whirring' one OR i could just tart up the spare then put it on...
  20. How easy is it to recon the alternator? If it is at all possible?
  21. Yeah, that was me im afraid, it was resprayed by the previous owner but it was a bit of a shoddy job
  22. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-GOLF-MK2-LATCH ... 335f45269b http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-CORRADO-front- ... 20b25c4fb4 Thank you muchly! Didnt realise the MK2 covers fitted
