  1. Painted the headlight reflectors black (obviously only the not needed reflective parts) :D
  2. The only issue i'd say is that if you're using glue gun glue the car gets hot enough inside to actually melt the glue, i know this because i used glue gun glue to hold the aftermarket tweeters in the original holders as the way they were originally stuck in failed (they were there before i got the car) and subsequently the car got hot enough for the glue to melt an they fell off... Also if you're using standard bulbs to illuminate it (cant remember if the earlys used LEDS or not, i know the late does) then they too will probably get hot enough to melt the glue.... Just though i'd mention it! :salute:
  3. if they're the existing leads in the rado then they are standard iso leads, did your old stereo work before you removed it? Have you checked the fuse on the back of the new stereo, its also possible that you need to change the 12v+ and the ignition lead over as i had to in mine as the kenwood might need them the other way around, does the kenwood have its own lead, if so it should come with some bullet connectors and you can just swap the red and yellow ones over, then try that
  4. Replaced oil filter and topped her up with new oil!
  5. Silver one with a bodykit, not sure which variant in outside work in TKmaxx car park in Milton Keynes, pretty sure its not on here though, odd plate: C7 LMP Went to tescos across the road but had gone by the time i got back, seen it around a few times
  6. Possibly an immobiliser issue, what age is the car?
  7. grey? is it really? think i need my eyes testing it looks green to me? i vote for anything with racing stripes down it. cleary makes it go fatser. and yes i am jealous of the lad over the road in a c2, he even forgot to do the bumpers when he put stripes down his bag of. but it looks so cool Haha talking about stripes theres a dodgy 5 door escort that keeps driving down my road, its got matte black paint, they've even painted the rear windows...seriously, and the stripes are wonky! not to mention the stupid exhaust
  8. I've got this problem but if its coming from the corner of the rocker cover then it's as Jim said, its easy to replace but a bit time consuming removing the manifolds
  9. They 'should' have sound but ive not got one so i dont know...
  10. Haha, glad to have been of service
  11. Usb is 5v, its not the voltage that would be a problem its the amp rating that would cause issues, another thing to do would be to rewire the switch so that you could control it from the dash
  12. I wonder if the switch can be 'hacked' so that if you place some into the car (hidden obviously) when your alarm goes off it starts recording.....obviously it will only be useful if you get the car back it is 'was' nicked....or if someone tried to break in and steal it....or not, whatever  Also he's got 5137 left so he's not going to run out any time soon!!
  13. I dont think the chair on the roof is such a good idea  Im still undecided, im so used to the car having the lights in the bumper that is just looks odd to me but each to their own i guess
  14. Yeah i've edited my above post, dont use the same wires for the unlock/lock as to power the unit because the wire isnt that thick and you dont want to overload it, all the wires are located on the drivers side as that is where the fuse box is, be ready for laying in odd positions to get to the cables
  15. Right well without knowing which 'rado you've got im just going to link up the wires for you for my valver but im pretty sure the wiring loom colours are the same, someone correct me if they're not Obviously you have to be confident enough to splice into your cars loom as it isnt plug and play, the safest way is to solder all the connections and use heat shrink to cover the joins, failing that crimped connections will also work but if not done correctly the wires might come loose from the connectors. For the power to the unit you will need to power directly from the battery as this is the safest and easist option, make sure that the positive supply is properly fused using at least a 30amp inline fuse which should be supplied. You can run cables through a grommet hole under the passengers side footwell. If you don't want to do this then you CAN splice into the positive on the ignition loom which is a big fat red cable  and there is a ground cluster located behind the dash on the drivers side but its a bit awkward to get to. Lock/Unlock There are actually two ways that you can connect this up, at the switch or at the vacuum pump but as the car primarily uses a positive door lock/unlock system we will use Type 3 (type A) Positively triggered page 6 (the other way utilizes both a negative and positive signal along one way at the pump but that's more awkward to wire in): Note there are three wires going to the door switch, red (constant +ve) red/yellow (lock and full closure) and red/black (unlock) they run all run together so you can splice into these Lock (VW) Red/yellow - Lock (RC) White Unlock (VW) Red/Black - Unlock (RC) White/Black Positive supply (VW) Red - Common (RC) Yellow AND Yellow/Black Indicators It doesnt matter which way around you wire these as both indicators flash at the same time, just make sure that you attach on a 1:1 basis Indicator (VW) Black/Green - Indicator (RC) Brown Indicator (VW) Black/White - Indicator (RC) Brown Hope that helps!
  16. If you've got a copy of the manual/fitting instructions or can find one online im sure we can help you, i fitted my own alarm/keyless entry and it wasn't too hard to fit
  17. How small legally can you make the numberplate, ie whats the smallest font?
  18. bugger, now you beat me to it  Haha, its like a race! 8)
  19. X 2 ......I can understand it in the US where sometimes you see cars without front number plates (not sure if thats legal or not but seem to see it a lot) but in the UK it doesnt make sense to me - all that work to just position the number plate a few inch's lower  No maybe about it, I am getting old. EDIT : sorry Wompa thats neither a tip nor an idea just a moan  In the US you only need to have a rear numberplate, the front is optional afaik. Also as the car generally sits low that you'd probably keep knocking the numberplate off
  20. haha, ill upload it online so you can all download it yourself Early: 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfCorrado92.pdf[/attachment:375b9rf6] Late: Corrado94.pdf[/attachment:375b9rf6] Corrado92.pdf
  21. replaced air filter, and found an oil leak :( seems to be coming from the dizzy...will fix that when i change the oil and the oil filter
  22. Hook isn't backwards no, it just looks bent to me, [strike:tuq1gwvs]it should be straighter, it should probably be perpendicular to the actual bonnet[/strike:tuq1gwvs], will get a photo of mine for you to see Edit: ok so it doesnt need to be perpendicular but yours is probably still bent slightly, mine is at a similar angle to yours but closes properly, ive also taken a photo of where it should touch the slam panel before it closes, hope it helps! passat climatronic wiring diags.pdf100405_183836.jpg[/attachment:tuq1gwvs] climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdf100405_183851.jpg[/attachment:tuq1gwvs] 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdf100405_183859.jpg[/attachment:tuq1gwvs] 100405_183926.jpg[/attachment:tuq1gwvs] Yes that is my hair, yes it is long, no its not TOO long, no im not a girl
