  1. Theres a few 'F' reg ones about,but usually they a left hook G60s
  2. Ive owned two R.S turbos back when i had hair. A mk1 and a mk2 mk2's were just boring nothing good about them at all. the mk1,was lovely for what it was,but just like corrados they attract certain a type of driver and I reckon there wont be many Mk1 R.S.turbos that havent been crashed, bashed, hashed, modded,or just blown up ! Corrado owners seem far more sedate and let peoples eyes do the admiring, rather than the revs. It depends what you want really,We have a 16 valve and its more reliable than my mitsubishi and thats saying somthing, paintwork or getting it done is just a fact of life owning an older vehicle.,mines got 60k on it and its heading that way of starting to need touch ups ooerr Roy
  3. hehe you wanna impress her with your big ends or summit m8. What colour is the GTI ?
  4. That car stands out so well with its lovely colour
  5. I watched it right to the end and thought it was really good Ross. was thru in Aberdeen last week and should have asked one of you eastsiders where this titty bar is supposed to be :-) very surprised you havent sold it Yet !
  6. Maybe its not needing skimmed, it might just be the gasket ! as long as its not over heated why would it have warped ? have you changed the coolant lately ?
  7. Its true, the octane is higher But I have heard rumours in work theres lots of ethanol in it.
  8. its not worth that money,I would try to imagine selling it before you buy it and see what thoughts you get from that. I would ask someone here local to you to go with you, another set of eyes with you wont do you any harm,I bought mine with someone gen'ed up in the background so I knew what to look for. Theres bound so be some enthusiast on here local to you who would help, I'd rather give some beer tokens rather than buy a dog anyday ! cheers chubbz
  9. Nice one ! I hope you can make it even though its short notice. Roy
  10. The other thing it could be is the seal thats on the header tank top is out of place and its jumped off where it should be when its been screwed on and off and on and off ! just turn it upside down and check the seal isnt all twisted or jumped off where it should be. You might also have an air lock,Id run it with the top off, turn heater on etc to get water moving, squeeze pipes etc try not to get burnt ! I'd go for first suggestion of mine first.
  11. I reckon the same as supercharged, maybe a bit more even if in need of a refurb Roy
  12. Im sure its from J reg onwards they have to be fitted. ( replaced two wings on a 205 and told to put them back on !)
  13. Lucky so far,Ive got a tiny bubble on the wing front arch, must have been a stone chip, but treating once the salt is gone. as for underneath waxoyl, even the engine bay has been done
  14. I think I would have shit a brick if it had happened to me. chubz
  15. The 16 valver we have has full vwsh. it was over serviced so much we thought they were having us on,we checked with vw customer services to check someone hadnt got 'stamp the book to buggery syndrome' and it was over serviced sometimes every 2,000 miles as it was laid up,but still serviced. Im unsure if it adds value, but it does help if you want to keep it or help maintain its value. to me this car your refering to isnt worth anymore or less than any other as theres no proof of history. We were lucky getting our one as the guy was only allowed 3 collectors cars in his collection and wanted another Mustang  I'm pondering going to a specialist as he does a better job anyway ! chubbz
  16. some people might not believe me,but the pic above is an 'A class' Road whats a gritter ;-)
  17. Try swopping over the relays and see what happens, also water gets into the fuse holders if non waterproof ones are used. Buy the rubber seal kinda ones, expensive about £4 a pop but no shorting !
  18. Is this your car sonny :?: :lcop: :norty: well dont be a numpty and keep it looking tasteful ! :x-mas:
  19. So wheres the smashed up one ? I didnt think it would be written off what a pisser Roy was chris hills one getting fixed or not >?
  20. Related A Dyane - Orange, would you believe? Bought new in 1975 for £1250 on road. Sold in 1978 for £800. 47mpg. Wouldnt start in -8C or less. First time this happened was when I came off night shift at Glasgow Airport. AA man sneered that "these cars were not made for our climate". He then removed the 2 plugs, put them on the ground, poured some petrol on them and set them on fire. On replacing them, car fired first time. Never forgot that and impressed my mate's wife one day by using same trick on their car to start it. PS Railways, TomB. Funny how a little bad (or hot!) weather causes problems. However, on the other side of the coin, was impressed the day I went to work in Glasgow from here on one of the coldest mornings of the century in late December 1995. Air temperature here (a third of the way along the Edinburgh-Glasgow line) was about minus 14C. Train arrived OK and got to Glasgow no problem. No heating, though!. In Glasgow city centre it was like being in Moscow or Warsaw. The snow on the ground was so cold on the pavements it was like walking through dry, grey flour. A record temperature of [rainbow]minus 20C [/rainbow]was recorded at the city's airport that morning. Some trains had to be cancelled because the automatic doors would not work in the low temperatures. Always impressed that my trains made the run, though. Gosh those were the days Craigowl, I was out that day in Altnaharra,a cool -27° 8) As for four wheel drive on Ice,you can keep it, give me 2wheel drive anytime and No abs. Newer trucks toil as they are not over engineered anymore, no double drive, non lifting non drive axles by drive axles and No diff locks, just electronics that mimic a program that try to emulate a diff lock. One thing for sure Craigowl, With the De-iceing The airport feels safer than Altnaharra ! Roy Roy
  21. 59,000 but it is a daily driver, bought it with 46k But closing in on 60k, There was a G60 with 17k on here somewhere
  22. Silverado,it could be the thrust relase bearing on the clutch, esp if your pulling away or in neutral
  23. or just make sure your car has a diff lock, like some audis had ;-)
