It happened to me too, I would check the fuse holders on the headlight loom, water gets in there and oxidises and no current can pass through it. I bought waterproof fuse holders and has been great since 8)

I agree Jim, Now I would have a full spec GTI for that money,Ive just showed the mrs and now she cant believe people pay 20k for a poverty GTI when stateside I added everything including paint and its about the same well £18.5k if we are spliting hairs. It shouldnt matter what people earn, does it mean I can get one somewhere in less poverty than britain for less than 20k Welcome to rip off Britain.....

You should consider making a kit that does the Dash, heater controls and if poss the switches Ive considered doing this as it would match the pioneer stereo just lovely.

Do you still get redex ? use that if your car doesnt have a cat I used to pour it through the top of the carb and I couldnt see the neighbours house for carbon  -
Did you take the expansion bottle top off ? if you did make sure the rubber holding the pressure hasnt jumped off its seat inside the top. A quick fix and hopefully its your fix. ROy

Whats the best way to blag stealer discounts?
chubbybrown replied to Ice White Socks's topic in General Car Chat
The club discount refered to is part of a parts buying scheme and my local dealers refused to be any part of it. Best to get the Local vw specialist to buy the parts for you -
Ive done most parts of the car,it looks a bit grotty in the engine bay as the car is yellow, but I know its sealing all the rubbish out :-)
