In northern constabularys area they have Volvo T5's that have vascar and 3 mobile camera units, its not cart blanche anymore but the vans are plain citreon partner types in blue, white and Red see them in a layby and they have a lasergun on you head for the westcoast, they dont do much out there except send a traffic car over to skye for a week or so every so often chubbz :-P
  6. I go over it with my Tanker,it translates into 'pass of the cattle' as it was just a drovers track as you may have guessed. stop at the Inn at Applecross where Judith does the most amazing things with fish :-) 8)

  13. Nice one Asim, That looks so updated while retaining the character and its a smashing finish too. chubbz
  14. Mk1 Golf GTI 1.8 llasa green Corrado 1.8 16v probably should never have sold the mk1 tbh and bought the C too
  15. Say Sorry and never say you didnt know what speed limit you were in, thats driving with undue care and attension,oh and dont admit to F.All tell them you have been stupid and have learnt from the gobfull they have given you all this will you settle for ... whatever got me done when I was a kid too, they had an uncalibrated speedo and prosicuted me on me admiting what I was doing ( 96 mph in a fiesta pop ) I trusted the speedo..Yikes ! it was going so fast I outran the panda car lol If you get a citation,I would plead guilty by letter and make it the biggest grovel you have ever done. I got a £70 quid fine and 3 points, but it was in 1989.
  16. Scott is correct, you choose if you put your foot down and with regards to salvage its your salvage if they pay out,a friend had a range rover limo taken away after his payout after him saying he wasnt giving it up and got it back 3 weeks later after it had been through three sets of owners !! with regards to any corrado,if it requires a shell its written off unless someone knows where theres a few new bodyshells stashed. we bought 3 cavalier ones, still got one ina field, brand new under a cover waitign for the right Turbo diesel to come along. Chubbz
  17. I wouldnt, not even for a 16 valver, I dont think its the reason why people have corrados no harm in checking the neighbours bottom end though
  18. Our Vw Mechanic told us to get a private plate an nobody would guess its a 1989 car. a bit sad when I think its nearly 15 year old with 50k on it. I was bidding on hustlers A3 number but forgot about it last night Pah ! lol The bodyshop manager of our local Merc dealer always flashes his lights at the wife from the rear as hes told her to her face to get the spoiler up  he reckons its the coolest thing yet....... quite good really seeing the stuff he thrashes about during the day (hes got a Golf TDI) chubbz oh me mate calls it a scirroco just for the wynd up factor for the woman..
  19. I've a set of Lockwood ones, but they are quite narrow a full size sill cover would look the doggies nutt$
  20. mad that he's asking top money for it and its got a miss-match of servicing agents........and not even any reciepts......as for the Cat 1 i think you can have this inspected by a thatcham-apporved installer who would then certify that it complies with Cat1.....though IIRC this would be to your additional cost...................though it might still be worth chasing up as i was always under the impression Autotek C's were of decent quality..........but deffo haggle hard Toad Cat 1 ?? maybe it was when it was fitted but some Alarms get downrated to cat 2 as they get older and people learn how to manipulate them. I'm weary about Alarms not being fitted by me as you can always keep a keyfob and a second set of keys and take it back a week later, what your looking for is a car with history if you can trace the history via VW fair enough, but even Ive been offered to have me cars book rubber stamped as much as I wanted,so 7k is a lot of cash. You have to be impressed with these owners that keep all the tax discs, mot's,service bills, parts bills, tyre bills and of course its service history it speaks volumes. The couple trains of thought...... 1)Cracking body work, anything mechanical will repair. 2)cracking Mechanicals, anything bodywise will repair. then theres the two combined and thats why you pay more for them. I just havent found a 95 year old woman with a Vr6 yet, mind you shes probably burnt the clutch out anyway :halfrobot: :blackeye: :onfire: Sorry if Off topic a bit :offtopic1: Chubbz
  21. Im about to Trial Pay as you drive for norwich union, they fit a transponder in the car and charge you by the mile. it gets fitted to the Mitsi on Tuesday I think the Corrado was about £240 this year,Im 36,max no claims with woman on it as well. chubbz

    S70RM

You will need the MOT as far as I know and probably the v5 as they have gone OTT going on and on and on about them chubbz
  23. you said you were going to ditch the side repeaters, thats a MOT failure, but Im not here to flame, think about having the side repeaters somewhere else like in the mirrors, I saw a new style laguna the other day and it had the side repeaters in the door trims, but you said you were ditching them. I thought they were quite cool as I hadnt seen them on any other car ( I dont get out much lol ) If its painted all down the front I think it looks like it has a kit fitted to it even though it hasnt,a nice trick of the eye ! The only prob I had with my old motorsport kit on a XR3 was it was prone to stone chips as it was quite low. chubbz
  24. Is it that Knackered ? I had a bad habit of superglueing the hole back up,it does pass the MOT,well it used to !! as theres no hole to comment on ! Is it for an MOT or peace of mind ? chubbz
