If you want to strip it right back use petrol its an old car cleaners trick but be prepared to use trim shine/whatever to rejuvenate it

This is the sort fo thing a group buy could be sorted out with. I can get a discount for advanced drivers with the AA cheapest for me I think is £35 but if somone had time I wonder if the forum could sort out a blanket cover for us all ? must be worth a punt, what are they gonna do ? put the phone down,I dont think so.

Scott, if you think its worth it keep at it,it depends how desperate you are to sell. Some people are daft arnt they,he offered you 4k for your car,its a good starting point; so you know its worth the 4k so now try and get 4.5 the only other way I drop prices is to lift the tax disc and remove the stereo it gets pointless after a while as they are buying just the bare motor. I love cars with history even if its parts departments reciepts,I just tend to write on them when fitted so it is 'service history' I loathe paying £70 for the inspections, when all I know they do is count the tyres and change the oil but I do pay it. as you show your car off as I see in your avatar it must be a nice one and getting rare to buy by the day. we still cant get over someone paying the wife £1200 for her Mk1 Gti golf in llassa green, but like the corrado book values are a pile o pish unless you have to resort to a tradein, you should never have to :D :D

Ive clarted the G plater with trim sheen and its brought them back to life. There is a little wear on the outer edge but the maguirs stuff seems to have smeared it and brought it back to life.

Lots of waxoyl stops it its quite unsightly but the people who work and look under there appreciate why its there esp on a yellow car ! our one gets winterised before the winter, steamed, waxoyled and we try not to wash anything apart from main body due to the rock salt they use up here. regards
-
it needed the downforce as it was so arse happy oh and the 4wh drive sierras rocked too esp in cossie mode. there cant be many escort cossies as they had to be stored in lead to insure them (almost) chubbz

Some mechanics make me laugh, one of our boys couldnt engadge gears easily, thought it was clutch all ok By dealers. Driver was told your just a driver etc ! 2 days later after much synchromesh in the bellhousing 2 seals and a ceramic clutch down to the rivets and the plate cracked in half it sometimes makes me wonder how they diagnose these things and they said it must have happened after they checked it LOL. 500 quid for the clutch yikes ! 123k on a clutchin a car is ruddy good tbh a credit to its drivers. Im on 500k on me wagon but its starting to show ! Roy

I would do it. when I find one cheap enough with a knackered engine its going in  I wouldnt have to think twice about taking the car out for a thrash to Glasgow ! Or a LPG conversion would do as well

The lowest air temperature ever recorded in the UK was -27C at 2 sites in the Highlands of Scotland (Braemar and Altnaharra in 1995). Lower than -20C is unlikely in most winters in England and lowland Scotland, but the possibility cannot be ruled out completely. Glasgow Airport had -20C in December 1995, despite the 1990s being one of the warmest decades. -20C has been recorded in lowland England, too, within our lifetimes. # I was there at Altnaharra that morning -27°,it didnt feel cold until I couldnt get the brakes off the wagon and luckily it didnt go down to -45 as the gas freezes then nothing a drop of methanol doesnt cure ! goes down a treat btw

Ladies and Gents I'm really sorry.... (now with photos)
chubbybrown replied to TomB's topic in General Car Chat
Im sorry :( . theres nothing like being being in a prang. I'd take what you can from it and let the insurance take it away. as long as theres a payout just put it down to experiance. I hope and your passenger make a 100% recovery in all ways.... chubbz -
