  1. depends what needs doing to fit? im picking up a bonnet from brum on friday so you never know might be able to lend a hand
  2. thank you, does seem like far to many get broken
  3. bugger. im fresh out of ideas im afraid. maybe gwerks might have a trick or two. worth an ask.
  4. yep its an early bonnet, pick up new one on friday - early again but lacquer isnt bubbled up everywhere. early/late i was referring to the engine, tried to order gasket for inlet manifold and got the usual blank stare when i told them the number plate refers to a different engine. had a look over the diagrams at the stealers and im convinced its early but the chap tells me its late....bit of a stale mate so told him ill pull it to pieces and take the manifold with me. chassis number no good dude, converted to a g60. chassis will bring up a 1.8 16v thank you.....keep it looking standard me thinks
  5. hmmmm odd.....stone or likewise on/in the back side of calliper?? might be dragging when youre reversing and trying to free when youre going forward?? wheel off and have a butchers. see what that brings, if no clues few pics maybe? check disc for wear, and give the wheel a wiggle when you jack up to check wheel bearing
  6. vr6 rad is a good upgrade, there massive! can get nice slimline cowlings made to measure with fans in them...theres a thread on here parts for sale maybe??? just need to plan your route/intercooler size if your going fmic. massive rad makes it difficult. depends if you want it on show or to hide it. mine was tight and i only run a 1.8 16v rad. oil cooler helps alot with temp. http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=84908
  7. well ive bin down with chuffin swine flu since sat night. yeah it sucks for anyone thats not had it. planning trip to stealers to change studs and treat myself to a few goodies too. dont think im gunna get on the car until next week though as i still feel like ass. ah yeah, does anyone know locations of engine code, other than cam cover (long gone)??? im certain its early but vw seem to think its late.
  8. really? ive never owned anything vag that hasnt had a rattle. pretty sure all of my friends too, except maybe leon cupra but the exhaust has a slight blow on it!! maybe its just leicester. soon as you find it and stop it something else seems to take its place.....part of the fun :D g this time though so all i hear now is the sweet sound of a charger
  9. it just wouldnt be a vw without a small rattle from interior and a slight blow from exhaust
  10. have you never owned a mk2 golf? starts with arch trims and soon works its way the rest of the car
  11. everyones fave trim bodge = clear silicone
  12. best coolant = g12 from stealers. they keep it on the shelf.
  13. Bugger, if spain likes the german engineering how does tuv approved sit in the arguement?
  14. Just spotted theres a 'how to' change heater matrix in the wiki on here.....if you get stuck that is

    boot and wing gap

The joys of playing with something that hasnt been played with before! Youve started so now you have to finish.....let us know if you solve this
  16. Ah, didnt clock your'e in spain. Do you not have mot places with the 'saturday price' in spain? Must be a few spanish forums with people running coilovers, im sure they would share the knowledge of getting it through.
  17. change the bulbs why you have it off! saves taking it off again. haven't changed anything on my dash other than the clocks. ah and check spoiler mech is working before you bolt it back in
  18. once again i am sorry for this in your thread. http://www.edition38.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=194923&st=0&p=1717908&hl=boost%20return%20delete&fromsearch=1entry1717908 If you wish to run a catch tank then the rocker cover breather will breathe in to this, this can be mounted wherever is easiest in your engine bay. The air will not dump through the ISV breather, it will dump straight out of the throttle body to atmosphere and the noise will be similar to a dump valve but not as harsh. The lube is required once this modification has been done to keep the supercharger lubricated. It is sprayed in each chamber of the supercharger every couple of thousand miles and acts as the lubricant that the charger used to receive from the boost hose. A brushed aluminium catch tank is ?95 and the charger lube is ?16 per can. Rob http://www.edition38.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=114969&st=0&p=953480&hl=boost%20return%20delete&fromsearch=1entry953480 theres plenty more. advice is all im offering too, but like i said check with gwerks/jabba if you want to know the benefits/risks maybe its time for your charger to be serviced???
  19. sorry for the hijacking of your thread. i get that running direct into inlet isnt original, wouldnt refer to it as a mod otherwise. what i mean is it ran as part of the original boost return to the charger, and in that sense was meant to be recirculated anyway. as far as lubing each to their own i guess.... for me its a must. only way to get an answer for sure is to speak to g-werkes or jabbasport. for fitting your kit make sure you use a good sealer on the blanking plate. and check where oil run off will go.
  20. like i said not something ive attempted, but assumption would be that bigger discs may do what your after, depends on design of wheel really. but you need someone who knows what there on about before you part with cash. err unfortunately id say go on edition38 and have a search through mk2 golf threads, maybe even post up the same on there.
  21. not something ive attempted but washers and wheel spacers is what id go with. just hope youre not in a hurry to get back on the road.
  22. the isv return makes up part of the original return, so in my mind plumbing it across will make less of a difference than deleting it. ive had no problems with running, and lots of people that run this mod. i cant really follow on the lube bit to be honest, it is how it is or why would you fit a run off pipe or catch tank? as far as build up ive never heard of it being a problem or known any to suggest it might happen......get a good few clouds of smoke when you wind it up after lubing. mine has been chipped, but this mod was done long after it was chipped.

    boot and wing gap

same on mine too. just seems to be one of those gaps.....bumpers wind me up a treat!
  24. cambelt and water pump, one of the blokes at work had to stump up £500 to have these done and that was only a local garage. i think most of them say 115k for change?? other than that the usual second hand car stuff as far as im aware.
  25. yeah i mean different brand. my opinion of eibach isnt great, i worked next door for 18 months. although its not the greatest solution you can chop your original springs and get saving for coilovers!!
