  1. theres a bit of tweeking when you loosen and tighten the hinges, both on the door and the hinge mount i seem to remember. been a while, toledo used to leak when it rained hard but i cheated and bent the door. real hard job on your tod though. two man job id say
  2. vr6 rad http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=84560 :D
  3. gear box oil level/change for a start. if not play with the adjuster on the linkage til it seems better
  4. It's a lot cheaper up north then :) £7 down here (purcashed from dealer Saturday it seems so, i am getting trade price though because they dicked me about. but that was just the price on screen?
  5. any clues on polo g40 oil filters??? rumour has it they run ok on g60's but give you more room for oil cooler sandwich plate, which is what i need. but they look really small on diagrams and only seem to be one type for 1975-about 2001 i think. not sure of engine code for g40, can anyone enlighten me? want to get ordered because im getting trade price on this order :D
  6. yeah im a leicester lad, depends what your thing is for meets. hubbadubba in hinckley (halfords) is more up my street, but im not really one for meets so tend not to be regular...i like to nosey at what other people are up to if im honest. but if your into whale tales and bodykits then cruiseleics at fosse park seems to be more that way :confused4: g12 £4.05 + vat per 1.5l bottle.
  7. checked wheel bearings??
  8. g12 not really expensive, only type you should use though....new rad before you change though. im off to stealers in a mo so will ask for price. oil cooler, dont believe it changes anything on insurance. doesnt provide any power upgrade, just cools oil. my insurance is complete poop though, i just act dumb. g60's run hot too, you will see oil temps of 130 in the summer with the joy of traffic. intercooler is good to change but doesnt make massive amounts of difference, only in arizona or like wise! id would suggest; http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Medium-65mm-2-5-Deep-TwinPass-intercooler-450-Series_W0QQitemZ370233921158QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item5633a94e86&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 not 100% but i think you would get a vr6 rad in with that design.

    my vr6

toyo t1-r for me grippy as anything but wear quite fast. but im on road legal slicks at the mo
  10. Think thats an oil temp wire, if i remember right! Mine goes nowhere too.
  11. Pack it....Maybe??? Spring cups are normally something to leave alone, if the spring pops out, while your driving its similar to a blowout. Your car though.
  12. Im no expert and plenty of people know alot more than i do. Err me and school didnt get along to well, got mostly c's so not too bad i guess. After i did college, electrical installation then mechanical engineering. My best mates a sparky and loves to muck around with engines too, so like most people start with a small amount of knowledge and dive in. Doesnt matter if posts seem silly, better to ask than another vw get broken. Cooling in what sense? I assume your going with water temp/leak. When was coolant last changed? Pop the bonnet and have a look around the pipework, mainly joints is where your looking. Crusty and white (normally) buildup means your leaking. Maybe a simple flush out would do the trick? Cant really guess at it im afraid, have to do some investigating your end and see where it gets you. Cheers jim
  13. tell me about it, i chuffin loved my black and silver plates. sold the car years ago but plates are still in the garage. mean were not allowed them on really
  14. yours will be fine....fook it im going for alloy ones again, im sure ill regret it but :luvlove:
  15. thats supposed of been there for a long time, i got fined for running black/silver plates when i was 17. said i was in the wrong for not having the company name and postcode on them too
  16. the majority of the plaggy sort are ok. alloy ones tend to get you pulled! mostly its spacing font and reflectiveness that winds the filth up. but these are met by dubmeister and others that make pressed plates.
  17. fair cop. place down the road does them but they are pants, no docs with them. how much? did they want docs?
  18. yeah i guess, but if all places dont ask for this then surely its a waste of time??
  19. whats that about on dubmeister v5 + driving licence/passport before they will ship plates??
  20. get where you are with the polished bit, but your cutting the wires on the loom to add this, so it doesnt need to be on show can be tucked away behind bumper quite happily. main part of it is to follow the colours it says to use for the wires, both on existing looms and those on the relay...although yours will be different in colour, they should run in the same order. alot of people make their own rather than buy them.
  21. yeah this is true. really like alloy plates though...........
  22. any one bought from these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/German-PRESSED-Euro-Number-Plates-for-VW-Audi-BMW-Golf_W0QQitemZ360157079351QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item53db08e737&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 hit or miss? quality doesnt look great. dont really want wolfsburg badge, but looks like sticker anyway!!
  23. basic principal applies to anything water tight. you can buy small round/square tuppaware type pots from asda for cheaper than this, grommets might be fun to find but im sure you would get hold of them
  24. i like it cheap but effective. im down friday night, with my best mate whos a sparky hows that for irony a. found this which might help you http://homepage.ntlworld.com/eric.coolen/images/loom.doc change it to landscape to view whats missing
