Ill answer number 1.... Three mounts, one gearbox right side, one engine left side and one in the middle in the front
-
The best would be having the tunnel and the trunk floor of the rallye welded in the corrado... Its alot of work.... Search on the vortex I think its there aswell
-
Ill have two if possible please ;)
-
Newer cars can benefit from this aswell, specialy diesel ones with particulate filter.
-
If the head is coming out have a look at the valve guides. The tool to.lock the camshafts comes with some aftermarket camshafts, but you can buy them very cheap.... Or if you want you can make one pretty easy.

new here and after some advice before the plunge

160k should be fine... Make shure the engine is cold when you go to start it. Mine has 170k but have done a complete rebuilt on 150k... Not that it needed, everythingg was still ok. If you are ready to do the chain, tensioners and guides then I would say theres is not gona be any suprisses -
When I drive to portugal 1300miles non stop and if I go up to 120mph the oil temp will go up to 140C
-
Im getting about the same... 104C in traffic. Maybe replacing the oil cooler will make it better?
-
You can try and use a spline tool and hammer it in.... It ussualy works. What size allen key is it? 7? And make shure you are holding the steering wheel in a vice or something very strong.
-
Yes it was rebuilt.... I done it myself. Just finished now, replaced one injector and replaced the fuel filter... All good now. I had a set of injectors laying in the garage Thanks alot anyway
-
It looked blueish lol... Spark plugs are ok apart from one that was wet with fuel and on top of the piston was a lot of fuel... I have taken all the plugs and cranked the engine and alot of fuel was blowing out of the same cylinder, thats why im thinking the injector is gone... Its very odd for the rings or steam seals to be in fault... Ive rebuild the engine 5 years ago with new pistons and everything, steam seals and valve guides were done about 2 years ago.

Went to work today morning and stoped at the local esso petrol station, put in 20 liters of unleaded. 10 seconds out, my vr starts to back fire and sputter. I managed to limp it back to work.... Had a look at it and I was shure there was fuel contamination, emptyed the tank and put fresh fuel in (not esso)... Started the car and it sounded better but still miss firing and back firing, went for a road test and very quickly I filled up the street with blue smoke and smell of petrol..... In the end at least 1 injector is gone (over fuelling). Got a sample of the fuel ready to call esso costumer service. Has this happened to anyone? What kind of contamination ruins the injectors? (water)

Usually they come out with a hammer and a screw driver... Im pretty shure it will come out like that
-
Yes... Thats probably your problem. The best thing to do is take the heater controlls out and check what is broken and then take it from there, its a bit of work since you need to take out the radio fascia... I thinking you have a late model corrado
-
Depends on what it needs to be repaired... I would start by makinh shure the dial is actually moving the cables. If it is the late model their more prone to braking, does the dial move freely or you feel some tension?
-
When you put the air going to the windscreen do you get air going on any other vent? Foot vent? Usualy the flaps inside the heater box start to deteorate... On mine it doesnt matter where I possition the air, I allways get air comming from all the vents lol.
-
The other day did one at work... The allen bolt broke so had to take the hub out to drill it. Be really carefull with the bolt, theres not much space to use the hammer in there but try to knock it before attempting to unscrew it.
-
So you still havent found the problem.... I would like ro know what it was in the end, I average 25mpg and this was after changing relay box and ecu. I can only get around 30 mpg in the motorway. Keep us updated
-
Youre right... But I dont imagine the amount of money bbc has paid the owner.... Its probably more than enought to repair it after
-
Dont you hate that? Happens to me every time I go for mot... Only thing I hear is my car reving... Im a car mechanic and I only do that when it really needs to be done.
-
Just yesterday I bought one from a guy on ebay... 105 delivered. Good luck
-
there is some plugs that are allways disconnected... as far i can remember at least the red yellow and blue plugs might be just extras... like original extras (imobilizer, alarm)... i think your problem is not going to be in the relay box
-
So whats your lambda adaptation values at on vag-com. Maybe make shure the plug for the lambda probe is nice and clean and theres a ground wire from the same plug that connects to the chassis. Had a problem with that one before
-
well.... i do have the original head lights... but i already have 6 penalty points in my drivers license and a 5 years caution... dont want to mess around much more... i like to have my car road legal, ill just change the leds. its strange why in.pro started doing the headlights with blue leds. i will let you know how it comes up. thanks for all your help

yes thats right... just remebered the mk2 gti... we had to rev the engine a couple of times to remove air locks
