Well that shouldnt happen... If all connections are ok then I would consider a faulty head unit.

Does it make that popping sound when ever you turn the radio on, or just when you plug it in?

............. Brake pads, discs,ball joints, cv joints, drop links whatever?!?!? Check the back plate of the disc... Make shure theres enough clearence

Did you change the oil and left the old oil filter in there ?!?!?!? Hope youre not driving it

Vag com will not show any info that can help diagnose a faulty fps... One good way is to disconect the vacuum pipe that goes to the fps and smell it :) ... If you smell fuel the that fps is leaking (no good). And like its been said before.. Its not an expensive part. Just make shure you get the right one (golf vr6 doesnt work)

Just a slight note on the 4motion. If you want to change the rear haldex fluid aswell you will need to buy the special vw oil. Let me know if you want the rear done aswell

Well depends... What audi, model, year? Auto or manual? If its manual and can take castrol smx-s, then it can be the same price

Well if youre doing the job yourself at least you will safe thounsands... When I got my vr it had 140,000 miles. Did a complete rebuilt including original pistons and ive spent around £1500. Still kicking with 180,000 miles. But getting another engine is a easier way out , but it might happen all over again. You never know

If the pressure test came back ok... Then it can only be a cracked block... One of the water galleries might be cracked. If thats the case then it would be easier to get a replacement engine.

Yes the crack pipe is the name given to the pipe that goes from the water pump to the sensors. I think he was talking about the isv silencer. The silencer I just blow it with compressed air. But if you want you can open it and take the mesh out to clean
