  1. After an absolutely exhausting week having worked around 60 hours I can't wait to get out in the Corrado again this weekend. I love it just sitting there. I love it when I first get in it and slide the roof back. I love it as the engine rumbles into life and the whole car judders slightly. I love it as I put some good music on. I love it as I pull out of my drive. I love it as I get onto a nice straight. I love it as I get onto some nice corners. I love it on the way back from Inters as the TVR driver stared at it as he drove past. I really love it as I get it above 5k and the engine just sings. Thats is all, thank you :)
  2. Saw this at Inters. Looked lovely. Such a nice colour and one I had originally been looking for.

    Help

I'm sure there's an easier way to replace the heater matrix. Someone on here will be able to point to a link.

    Dream on!

The advert says he bought it in April. Wonder how much he bought it for - he's either chancing it, or paid silly money for it.

    Dream on!

Errr. That's way overpriced. It's not even standard or fault free. And not even leather.
  6. A few Corrado's made it onto the UK-MKIVs forum: http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/p/430616/2948801.aspx
  7. Yes that's a good idea; keep it for a couple of weekends and see how I feel. Good suggestion.
  8. Thanks for the opinions so far. I'm a little surprised by the Corrado love :) Despite this being a Corrado forum I expected a landslide victory for the M3 and people to question my sanity for even hesitating. Unfortunately that's not really an option. He's doing me a favour with the price and would advertise it at market rate otherwise. So I'd feel a bit of a git if I took advantage of my brother for profit.
  9. Yes, neither the Golf or the Corrado come close to a comparison. But I need to look at the running costs. Insurance and servicing will be quite high. That may force my decision. Sounds a great plan... unfortunately I'd need to sell the Golf or the Corrado to afford to buy it. I have a wife, two kids and a massive mortgage to support. I'm also restoring a house so don't have much spare cash at all. And I expect to move house next year due to schools so probably won't have SORn space next year :( I have a bit of a personal rule with cars; I don't get a loan to buy them. If I don't have the cash then I don't buy it. This is how I'm feeling at the moment. The two cars simply can't be compared as the M3 wins in every department. But getting a Corrado wasn't about buying the quietest, fastest, or most luxurious car. It was about retro 90's motoring and owning something quite unique. But I'll have to see how I feel if/when he does find something.
  10. He's looking to change his car to a newer one. When he finds one he's asked if I want his E46 M3 at an unbelievably cheap price (far cheaper than he'd sell it for if he advertised it). It has been very well looked after by him for the last 6 years and is the perfect colour; grey with black leather. Now I already have a family car (4 door Golf 4Motion) which I can't really sell because we definitely need a 4 door. We've owned it for years, the kids would be heartbroken, and it's been a really great car. I can't see my wife living without a 4 door. I have the Corrado that I've not owned long and I'm loving it too much to sell it. Honestly I adore the thing every time I get in it. I can't afford three cars (two is a luxury we don't need). So getting a third isn't an iption. But he's offering it at a crazy silly price (don't want to say how much but it's obviously very cheap because it's family rates). So I'd be absolutely nuts to turn down such a great car, that I know the history of, at such a deal. Half of me hopes he won't find the car he's looking for so I won't need to make a decision for a while. But I suppose it's a nice dilema to have. Cos frankly I'm stumped
  11. Not necessarily. Some cars go on for much longer than that without chains being done. However at 125k I'd start considering it and start budgeting for it. It's hard to tell really; if the chains are noisey then yes get them done. If they are quiet then it's hard to tell if they need doing or not unless you take a look at them.
  12. The previous owner did the chains and clutch on mine at D&G last year and that was around £1k. So if you have the knowledge and tools to do it yourself then you can save yourself quite a bit. EDIT: Can't remember if that price included the uprated cams or not. Car would have been on around 136k at the time.
  13. If it's the one I'm thinking of, it was actually painted... BMW Frozen Grey.
  14. I've started looking around at local markets etc now. Food is silly expensive and rising by the day so small savings quickly add up.
  15. I've just measured mine: 26cm long 17cm wide 8cm deep
  16. Parked on the CCGB stand at GTI International: Also I picked up this steering wheel at a bit of a bargain price at the show. I was really after an original wheel but got this at a couldn't refuse price and kind of liked the old skool GTI Engineering reference. It had quite a bit of paint over it but it has cleaned up very nicely. I'll probably fit it and if I decide it doesn't suit the car then I can always re-sell it. Still looking for a good condition original leather wheel too.
  17. Maybe keep an eye out for cars being broken?
  18. A few pics from me. Once again sorry about the phone camera quality. I'll get around to buying a proper camera one day :) C5 OEM cleaning. You really need to see the quality of the paint to appreciate it: OSV cleaning. A simply stunning car, perfect in every way: And a few from the CCGB stand:
  19. I think half the forum would.
  20. Is that the classic green Storm (only have ebay on my phone at the mo)? Classic green is a lovely colour. What colours do you like?
  21. More feedback here: http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?52514-Should-I-go-to-TCS-for-a-Corrado&highlight=viewing Anyone got a bargepole?
