Yesterday I clicked on 'buy it' in a parts ad. The ad then disappeared. Do I need to do anything or will the seller contact me?
-
Ah but then she will want a bigger house. Then kids and holidays.Call off the wedding and get another corrado. It will be cheaper in the long run and it won't steal all your possessions and your pension when she leaves :D

Shame to see you sell but it seems like its for three right reasons.

7hrs later and I still can't get the front subframe off?

Lots of penetrating oil? Heat it up in some way? -
Pretty close to my wishlist too.. recaro's, supercharger, tuna sandwich :)
-
Could you post some pics of it, or pm them to me. Thanks. Sorry I'd missed this for some reason. I doubt you still have it but will pm you.
-
Thanks. Will give him a call tomorrow although it's hard to tell the condition from just one picture. I'm surprised I've had so much interest in the old gear knob, with several people PM'ing me. It's not yet for sale and as mentioned I may well keep the new one in storage for the future rather than put it straight on. But If I did sell it then I'd probably give Karl first refusal as it seems to be his old one, he mentioned it first and he's also been very helpful with advice to me in the past. But I've noted everyones interest so thanks.

Seeing as this seems to be the Top Gear thread... I emailed them yesterday suggesting a follow up to Hammond's "How to spot a future classic". A sort of "where are they now" for the Corrado and the 190E 2.5 Cosworth.
-
What condition are these in? Do you have any pictures? Mine are very good with a few marks but if I spot an even better set then I'd go for them.
-
Thanks. I'll drop you a pm and also a few quid for postage and a beer.

Thanks for the feedback. I definitely prefer it to the Momo but my end game is the right OEM wheel. I'll let you know about the gear knob :)

BT Hub and 2 wireless laptop connection Faults :(

Also probably worth checking on the laptops themselves that they have different IP's assigned when you've just experienced a crash (type cmd into the "run" box in the Windows menu, then type ipconfig to show the IP address). -
I'm on the lookout for a dashboard blank for a late VR if anyone has one :)

I swapped over my steering wheel today. Out goes the Momo Trek R and in comes the GTI Engineering branded one that I picked up at GTI International. I'm still on the look out for the right OEM wheel but this had a period charm about it. Getting the old allen bolts out of it was a pain though as they had rusted away. I must say the Momo Trek R felt absolutely lovely to hold but I to me it seemed a little out of place in the Corrado's interior. Old (excuse the messy carpet!): New: I also ordered about £300 of parts from the dealer today; oil and fuel filters and all three engine and gearbox mounts and replacement bolts. I don't have the mechanical knowledge or balls to do the mounts myself but my brother has kindly offered to do them when I go up there in a few weeks. Also ordered a replacement gear knob. The one on the car is actually very nice, feels great, and is backlit at night but it's not original. Not yet sure if I'll swap them over or just keep the OEM one in storage for the future. Will probably need a new gaitor which I forgot to order.

Jim's Corrado - ciao to the Fiat! Hello to.. (P64)

The DVLA site doesn't use the word temporary: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/OwningAVehicle/HowToTaxYourVehicle/DG_10012524 But anything could change in future budgets of course. Having said that, the pre-2001 rates could change in future budgets too. -
HEY HEY got me a corrado and should b on the road soon

Lovely. Welcome :) -
Thanks for all your work. Even if it comes to nothing it's a useful bit of detail to have for the future. Does anyone know of other Corrado clubs in other countries that may want to come in with a group buy? It might be the only way to get the average unit price low enough.
-
It will probably be bought by someone to break it.
-
Yes but only the fully registered version. The shareware one doesn't have that feature unfortunately.
-
In September last year the previous owner had it tested to 193.3bhp. That was a standard VR6 with a Milltek exchaust on around 137k miles. Since then it has had D&G cams and a remap so should be a little higher now.

Might be worth asking on http://www.tt-forum.co.uk/forum/

Sorry for the delay in replying. I'd probably want around £70 for the Solitude as it is literally boxed and new (albeit bought many years ago). However I'll also draw your attention to a pair of refurbished Solitudes currently on ebay with no bidder. You'd probably want to consider these first: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/bbs-solitude-VW-Corrado-/200628454528?pt=UK_CarParts_Acc_Wheels_tyres_Trims_Car_Rims_ET&hash=item2eb6634480 (no they are nothing to do with me - I just think they are a better deal for you).

I will take your TT wipers and raise you some BBS alloys.
