Yes they were. Looking through the folder of bills I got with mine, VW fitted a pattern wing to mine. I assume it was either at the owners request or maybe there was a shortage at the time. I forget the year. I doubt they are made now though as the market just isn't there.

MAF? Coilpack?

Might go on the stand then, although its far from a show car.

Hats off. I wish I had the time, money, knowledge, skill and dedication of some people on this forum.

I want one :)

No wonder Corrado's aren't selling at the moment... any potential buyers come on here and get scared off owning them :D

I've only owned mine a couple of weeks and posts like this really worry me. I know it's unlikely that I'll be excluded from the pains and difficulties that others seem to go through. So I'm currently looking at it from a relatively pain-free experience. But I am absolutely in love with the charatcer of the car. Keep with it... there'e only a finite number of things that can break and everntually you'll get to the point where enough has been changed to make it a little more reliable.

Not a problem. I have a receipt from D&G to prove :)

This is probably a silly question but what does goingon the stand entail? Do you need a particularly nice or unusual car?
-
Working fine now. Thanks.

He fitted a Cobra cat 1 to mine today. Very happy with his work. Can't fault it. Highly recommended.

New cat 1 alarm and immobiliser fitted by Andy from Trim Wizard. Superb service and highly recommended. I can't fault him at all. He even traced an unrelated short for me and fixed it (nothing to do with the alarm). we had a good chat about cars too and as a previous Corrado owner he obviously knows his way around the car and its electronics. I had to chuckle though when he turned up. After a brief comment about it being an unusual colour (is grey unusual?) he opened the door, leaned in, took a deep breath and said "smells just like a Corrado" :D

Probably going to this on the Sunday. I haven't been for years so it should be fun.

Definitely a conversion. H reg. Pre-facelift bonnet and wings. All the early VR6 had late bodywork even if the interior was pre-facelift. I can't advocate breaking the car. But I'll be honest; I doubt you'd get your money back if you spent a lot getting it back to a decent condition. Maybe get it back ready for the MOT, drive it a few months to get the benefit and then see how you feel nearer winter. You can still break it at that point if you still want to (assuming you have somewhere warm and dry to do it).

I'm getting something similar. On a desktop it's fine. But on my phone it defaults to the mobile site for all pages except the home page. Also the mobile page is too large to fit on the screen but won't allow me to scroll.

New Corrado VR6 Storm Owner - How do you know a Storm is a Storm?
Portent replied to c0vert's topic in Newbies Hangout
VW will 100% be able to tell you is its a Storm. You just phone them with the chassis number. I've done it loads of times. -
I'm looking for an OEM leather steering wheel and gear knob. Must be in very good condition. Not in a rush so willing to wait for the right ones.

The new roof trim has arrived at the dealers but I was at work for 27 hours on Friday (!) so they were closed by the time I woke up on Saturday. I'll have to collect them next weekend. Instead I contented myself with shampooing the seats and door cards. I'm really pleased how well they have come up. They were clean before but there were a few small stains and the doorcards had become discoloured a little over the years. Well the marks have come out and the discolouring on the doorcards has gone completely. The cloth looks great now. Unfortunately someone in the past has spilled a little paint in the boot and there is still a little paint on the back of the seats. It's not visible in the cabin and can only be seen in the boot or when then the seats are lowered. It's also hidden by the amp and sub so I can't see it unless I lower them. But I know it's there so I'm looking at options to clean them (I believe Isopropyl alcohol can break it down and lift it). That's a job for another day. But the cloth seats and doorcards have come up superbly. It looks and feels so fresh inside now :D

Looks nice. Decided on which style of wheels?

Are most rados generally past it / riddled with rust?
Portent replied to Kenich's topic in General Car Chat
I spent a long time looking and found that cars below £2.5k were generally poor. £3k would start to get a nice example and £4k a very good car. Sometimes you get lucky and find a great example at a low price. But ultimately there are very few cars that need little work at this age. Good luck with the search. They really are worth it. I can't really explain it because they are quite old now and not as refined as modern cars. But the damn things just seem to have a character about them. Best thing I've bought in years :) -
A more interactive version of the data can be found here: http://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/?q=corrado You can click on each of the models and see how many are licensed and how many are SORN.

That's nice. On my list to get at some point: Mk1 GTI (my first car was a silver mk1 1.3 and I loved it) Mk2 16v (already had one in Atlas grey, loved it too)

Hehe, true. One bank I worked for recently had a one-way DR on one of their systems. If they ever had to failover then they had no easy way of failing back. So they never used it and never tested it. In the middle of a major incident one of the senior business guys asked why we didn't simply switch... there was a hushed silence :)
