  1. Also, a question on krissy's behalf... where are the indicator relays located?
  2. How much is that costing if you don't mind me asking. Just a ballpark figure. Are you getting the clutch done at the same time?
  3. Oh yep. The thread was indeed meant to be tongue in cheek. I actually don't think Corrado's are too unreliable considering they are 15 to 20 year old, fairly rare, performance cars. But so far there's only one car I've view that I haven't jinxed... C5 OEM's. It's only a matter of time before my jinx catches up and the wheels fall off though :)
  4. They're back, apparently relisted due to a timewaster (surprise surprise!): http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Corrado-VR6-recar ... 20b569419d I so love them :) but can't afford them :(
  5. Got to say yours was the nicest sounding and 'feeling' engine of all the cars I've driven. Oh, and that colour :luvlove:
  6. Not after a recommendation as I can see they need changing anywhere from 80k to 180k and will vary wildly with how the car has been treated. Was just interested in it and couldn't see the info in one place. Thought it would be useful for new buyers as it would show how wildly it can differ on each car.
  7. I was thinking that it would be useful to get a survey going of what mileage people are on and whether their chains have been changed. E.g. 150k Changed as a precaution due to mileage and rattle 140k Chain failure Chains were not rattly before 145k Not changed, still no concerns
  8. If you do restrict it then it's probably best to restrict just the parts and ebay/other sections so that new people can still sell cars and put up wanted adverts. At the end of the day it won't stop people trying to make a massive profit on ebay but as Corrados become increasingly rare I think this forum will hold more sway and keeping the community here, and opportunists out, is important. I've never liked ebay and always try to buy things through forums like this wherever possible, whether it's car parts or computer parts, or whatever.
  9. I see from the for sale section that you've decided to go with the speedies? Good choice sir :)
  10. On another forum I use, the for sale section can only be accessed after you've been a member for about 3 months and have over 100 posts. Would that be possible here (and would it be desirable)? It mught stop people jumping on here to make a quick fe pounds.
  11. Offer £650 as that's what you sold them for a while ago. It will kill the sale :D To be honest though, you probably owned half the wheels that have ever been sold on e38. Looking through your old threads on here you seem addicted to wheels
  12. Sorry what's the difference between a 3 relay and 'non-3 relay' loom? And what's the going rate for the different models at the moment? Thanks.

    VR6 Badges

Has anyone ever tried renovating the badges by sanding them back and painting them chrome?
  14. Yes I know. unfortunately I had some job issues going on at that time (looked like a move to Singapore might have been on the cards - but it never happened) and when the seller came back to me with a lower price, I had to be cautious with money and buying a second car. To be honest it went to a better home as you have done a wonderful job with it. It deserved to go to you. But I have to warn you that I also looked at another green storm just before yours from a guy in Guildford. I suspected him of being a small trader as his story didn't tally with the lack of paperwork and V5 in his name. So I walked away. a few months later that car suffered chains going and the forum member is still fixing it I think. So maybe I've jinxed yours too lol :) No offence taken. I've been looking since around March I think. But only seen around 6 or 7 cars in that time. Two of them I regret not buying (C5 OEM's - but I've explained why above) and a lovely Moonlight blue one (not the one mentioned above as I'd forgotten that from the list, but the spoiler motor went during that viewing lol). But I passed over that for not having leaher. I'm currently very interested in Lars car which although it doesn't have leather, it really is nice. However that's on hold while I try to see the green one currently for sale with the broken coolant hose (I strike again!!) I've learned a hell of a lot in that time which has been essential as I really have very little mechanical knowledge. I'm pretty much like this in other areas of my life too. I'll study something for absolutely ages until I really know what I'm doing. What am I really looking for in a Corrado? A Storm would be great, but leather really is up there on the list. Low mileage is a plus or chains done. All the obvious things really. I'll get there. I expected it to take a while as I'm quite fussy on what I want. That's partly because I expect the have the car for a long time and don't have a lot of money spare to throw at getting it into the right condition.
  15. My track record of jinxing sellers cars... 1) Moonlight blue - mirrors stopped working during test drive. 2) Blue storm - sprang an oil leak during test drive. 3) DPB - Bonnet jumped on a couple of days after viewing agreed. 4) Twilight violet - heater dial broke during viewing. 5) Dragon green - coolant hose sprang a leak about 10 mins after I agreed a viewing. Am I a jinx or are Corrados somehow unreliable
  16. Yes they look great. Strangely I don't like darkened lenses or dark wheels. But on the dragon greens they both work really well.
  17. I'm not really a fan of darkened or crystal rears on most Corrados (all red looks great though). But I found this while browsing earlier and it looks spot on: download/file.php?id=4536&mode=view
  18. Do you have any pics of the rear? I think the greens can be difficult to get the light cluster colour right. If I end up with a green then I think smoked might look nice although I like keeping things standard.
  19. I'm in Claygate, between Kingston and Esher so only a few miles down the road :)
  20. Thanks. I'm really looking forward to seeing it in the metal.
  21. If you don't mind me asking, how are you finding the colour? I'm thinking of buying a Dragon Green car and it's a colour I've not really wanted before (but the rest of the car is too good for me to ignore). I thought the same about Blackberry at one point and now love it so I'm expecting to do the same with Dragon :)
  22. I think that speedlines have really aged well. I'd have them on a Corrado over many other alloys now.
