Welcome. Colour sounds interesting.

When I phoned to renew they asked if I'd received their latest conditions. I said I hadn't received anything and was then told about the change. I've no idea how they find out.

considering trading the corrado in for a golf vr6
Portent replied to happyeaster's topic in General Car Chat
I had a black Highline back when they were newish (bought it at about 2 years old with 16k miles on if I recall). I really loved the car. The engine was OBD2 and definitely a lot smoother and quieter than my 19 year old Corrado with 143k on the clock! But if I were to buy now, then the Corrado wins for me. -
Very nice and I bet that's quick.

I've flip flopped between the AA and the RAC depending on who would give me the best deal that year. Overall the RAC have been slightly better for me based on cost and also service/ getting it fixed but I don't think there is much in it. Be aware though that the RAC have just changed their conditions and now won't fix it if it's a result of an attempted repair or servicing by yourself. e.g. if you do done work on your car and the breakdown is a result of that then they won't cover you. ---------- Post added at 6:01 AM ---------- Previous post was at 6:00 AM ---------- I've flip flopped between the AA and the RAC depending on who would give me the best deal that year. Well at least I got some arse on Fathers Day.

Is it just me or is the Corrado "on par" with newer cars ?
Portent replied to Mawrick's topic in General Car Chat
The Corrado feels woefully old in comparison to my mk6 GTI. It just doesn't compare. It's older, noisier, doesn't feel as precise around corners, doesn't have the low down pull of a modern engine, and certainly isn't as comfortable. To keep up with modern cars you have to really hold onto the revs too. But it has character that modern cars don't so I forgive it :) -
Happy Fathers Day. I've got some cards sitting downstairs but fear I wont have a relaxing day as I've got to start digging the the garden up for a patio. I will probably treat myself to a hoon in the car later though.

Thanks. I might ask my local dealer next time I'm there. But agree if they are that price then I will probably serve too.

Looks cracking :thumbleft:

I didn't realise until recently that the Corrado has an under engine cover on each side, attached to the splitter (one on each corner). I have a VR6 so in the unlikely event that someone is breaking a car and has them then please shout. Thanks :)

VR6OC V-Festival @ Brooklands Museum 26th October 2013

I'm in. Just registered. -
Nice article. I doubt it will affect prices much, if at all. But having an article inv such a magazine is an indication that the car really is moving out of the " simply an old car" and into realm of true classic, albeit a modern one.

VW Corrado "spotted" in "Stop motion cartoon"

Great spot :) -
It's obviously personal taste but on a blackberry I'm not sure I'd choose black wheels. On some colours they look great but I'm not so sure on a bb. Sorry to go against everyones opinion.

Welcome.

I've been getting a lot more arse recently too. Doesn't bother me much but if I were the one paying for hosting then I wouldn't be too pleased.
-
Yep. Just get under the front of the car and there are something like 6 or 8 screws holding it on. Very simple.
-
It still might be worth charging the battery or having it checked. If it isn't producing enough ampage then the lights will come on as normal but it won't have enough power to turn over. Long shot but worth a check.

That's awful :( ---------- Post added at 6:13 PM ---------- Previous post was at 6:10 PM ---------- Thats awful :(

Red was first and was later changed to chrome. I believe yours should be red. I'm not sure whether the Corrado script would be chrome or colour coded (colour coded I think but not sure).

Mine passed its MOT on Monday along with a brake fluid and power steering fluid change. So with new insurance I'm all set for another 12 months. Unfortunately I'm having problems getting the pictures off my phone due to a faulty connector but manged to get pics if the other corrado being MOTd and even more surprisingly a DeLorean being worked on at the same garage ( only 20 left in the country apparently?). Sadly the other corrado failed its MOT (dragon green M reg). I will add pics of the DeLorean if I can get the phone to work.I

Thanks. Just managed to get a spare bulb from Halfords. ---------- Post added at 5:32 PM ---------- Previous post was at 5:28 PM ---------- MOT on Monday so I did some basic checks. I found that both number plate lights were out. This seemed strange as the garage said they replaced one last year so after popping it out I found the wire had been broken... I'm guessing it's been broken ever since I bought the car. So I soldered in a new piece of wire. One bulb is still out but the other is working now so I will try and get a new bulb before Monday. But hopefully with one of the two bulbs working it shouldn't cause a fail.
