Only if the stat is faulty. I'd it's working correctly then it will close and keep the engine temp in the normal range.

VRs take mileage well. Things to look out for: Has the timing chain and tensioned been replaced? Not essential but probably due for it at this mileage. Not a deal baker. Do all electrics work? Heater controls work at all speed and direction settings? Common issues are Bowden cables breaking for direction controls, the duals themselves braking and the heater only working on speed 4. Do both mirrors move? Common issues are mirror motors and the switch inside. Does the sunroof slide and tilt? Common issues are sunroof motors, breaking sunroof mechanisms. Does the spiller go up and down both on the switch and automatically at speed? Common issues are spoiler motors. Watch out for rust. A lot of parts are obsolete now, particularly body and trim parts. When was the heater matrix last replaced? These often fail and it's a dash out job. And welcome :)

After taking the vr out of hibernation I noticed that the radiator fan was noisier than normal. A quick look at the Bentley manual shows that the front end needs to come off to replace it. My questions: 1) Is it most likely to be the fan or the motor? It's hard to tell without getting to it. 2) If just the motor then can it be done without taking the bumper, etc off? 3) Best place for a replacement fan or motor? Thanks.

What have you asked the current garage to do? Have you just asked them to replace the chains or asked them to investigate the noise and loss of power? I'd certainly be asking them to investigate and recommend a course of action before instructing them to replace the chains.

Sad times but you can always buy another if you decide to return.

White Corrado with darkened rear lights on Road Wars on Sky2 just now. The driver was getting searched for drugs. Couldn't tell which flavour of Corrado as it was mostly side on shots with aftermarket wheels.

I'd have to go with price too. It's a lovely car. But prices have fallen a lot in the last couple of years. Few people have money nowadays and corrados are increasingly now in the hobby/enthusiasts market - ie a luxury item.

My favourite wheel on a Corrado. I have the 16" but I reckon the 17" looks a lot better. Yes the 16" were on the mk3 Anni's.

If you're leaving the country then my vote goes to selling it. You won't recover the money spent on a respray.

There is lots of advice on http://www.contractoruk.com I dont know the specifics but there is some truth in what they say. Without a break the tax man may deem you to still be an employee of the company and therefore falling under IR35. I believe that means that the company and you are then liable for employers tax, NI, and income tax.

Sorry can't really help although I used to get my golf serviced there many years back. I don't think I have any receipts left from there but I will have a look at the weekend. But you might want to try calling the customer services of the current group that took over the site (Citygate?) and asking if they can help.
