1. My rear axle bushed have perished and need replacing for the MOT... Could someone please tell me the best option for replacing them. Standard or Poly? Cheers
2. I am desperate for a pair of late VR6 headlights, I bought a pair from a member of the forum and the MOT garage has informed me of a number of failures with them.
3. Cheers guys, volksworld13 PM'd me... this is his thread... http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?53172-genuine-brake-lines-remanufactured-for-vr6 Stone - We were using that spanner thanks, I know this because I'd never seen one until last night! And carriers came with the callipers I bought so I got em shot blasted and powder coated too, didn't buy new... my girlfriends brother is a breaker so got em on the cheap :D Because nothing ever goes wrong when working on cars... [sighs]... we got a bit ahead of ourselves and cut and clamped the old hoses, so my car is sat at a mates garage... and to add to that misery, my MOT is due on Wednesday. Ideally, I would have liked to purchase lines from volksworld13 after reading through his thread... but I've had to settle for copper to get things moving £50 to make and fit the fronts which isn't that bad I don't reckons. Thanks for your help here lads
4. Right, I'll start this thread as I start most of them... explaining (before I'm pounced on) that I know very little but I'm learning at every step. The most recent lesson is brakes.... I have bought Mk3 calipers, carriers, disks, pads and the necessary hoses for the fronts. And Mk4 calipers, carriers and brake lines (corrado disks, bearings and pads) for the rear. Got all the calipers and carriers shot blasted and powder coated in satin black so they look very pretty... Began fitting the fronts with a friend tonight... excuse my terminology here coz I haven't a clue what the technical names are. The brake lines (feeds into the engine bay) are seized on the original hoses which obviously need to be removed to fit the new Mk3 hoses. So unfortunately, we were unable to continue. I need to get new brake lines tomorrow, but before I go ahead and order standard replacements. Are there any alternatives that would be more efficient with the new brake set up? Or am I being a plonker asking this question? Anyway, cheers for any help you can offer.
5. Looking into this right now as I'm upgrading to 288mm. I know I need Mk3 discs and pads for the fronts (although I'm only replacing the pads), and standard Corrado discs and pads for the rears... But, I don't know what brand, as there is a big price margin between them. Was looking at these on Euro Car Parts, are these the ones? Or can I go cheaper? Should I spend more?... Any help would be appreciated. http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Volkswagen_Corrado_2.9_1993/p/car-parts/brakes/brake-friction/brake-pad/?101440328&1&8247de3c5bd4a4eb25e5f71b1c9e1f14bb6fe31d&000036 http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Volkswagen_Corrado_2.9_1993/p/car-parts/brakes/brake-friction/brake-disc/?104441738&1&44fafe8c7da8adfdb978e301df608e6882795927&000027 http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Volkswagen_Golf_2.8_2000/p/car-parts/brakes/brake-friction/brake-pad/?101440718&1&4e052da0cd9b84738eec0b4ebe8206665607ba86&000036

8. Searched the forum and didn't find a definitive answer (maybe coz thur don't be one) After a pair of headlights for my 1994 VR6... found a pair on ebay, from a 1991 VR6............. [drumroll] Will these fit? :/
9. I need a pair of late spec headlights to get me through my MOT, they get grumpy at the pattern mine displays :( May even tempt me to going back to originals!
10. Neither square on or high res but I got these mate...
11. woohhh that thread was messy... a lot of heartbroken/broken corrado owners there!
12. Dunno how old this is or whether it's been posted before... but shiiiiit... this'll need some work!!
13. i know i'm a tad late here... but are there any more full sets of these available? Can pay instantly... (he types, before reading the last post in full)
14. I have the inpro headlights, look similar to these actually. Think they're amazing, much prefer em to the originals.
15. Excellent nice one lads, you just saved me £31.63!! LEGENDS :)
16. Don't understand why you are having so much trouble finding insurance! With Adrian Flux - I'm 24, with 5 years NCB... at the time, I had 3 points. Fully comp, all mods stated and protected, car left on the drive over night. £700. Good luck mate!
17. Pointless in which respect? I've decided to focus my attention on comfort. I'm not overly fussed about the extra weight the soundproofing will add, although 'they' say that this Fatmat is actually a hell of a lot lighter than other brands. I just want to eliminate as much road noise, rattles shakes and knocks as possible. ---------- Post added at 04:56 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:53 PM ---------- ah FishWick... ya got in there before I replied! Cheers for ya advice mate, probably saved me a lot of time and money!
18. Been looking at soundproofing possibilities, searched the forum and from what I could find, no one has posted any experiences with Fatmat. I've been quite impressed with what I've read and its cheaper than Dynamat. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10-sq-ft-FATMAT-Xtreme-Sound-Deadening-Proofing-UK-/300593882464?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item45fccaa560#ht_2038wt_1139 Any experiences or opinions out there that could help me out? I'm planning on doing the whole car, I have already removed everything from the front seats back. Gonna get the dash out too so I'm gonna be needing ALOT of it. Wanna achieve the best value for money. Cheers
19. And another person trying to eliminate the agro of a 90mm splitter... Doesn't have to be perfect... If anyones got anything, lemme know! CHEERS!
20. Sorry if this is a re post but I've just seen it, for those who haven't ... enjoy :D [youtube:2582eskq]qG4IaHgqH00[/youtube:2582eskq]
21. Cheers for all your feedback, a friend of mine has had a custom one made for his scirocco by a local company ... Stronger metal and shallower, should hopefully do the trick!
22. I've lowered the C again and apart from the ride comfort being impaired, my chin spoiler splitting and the sump getting a minor scrape ... it's awesome!! :cuckoo: I'm a little paranoid about the sump taking more of a hit than a minor scrape, so was thinking ... is there any form of sump guard you can buy? Does anyone have any experience with them? Cheers :)
